I heard the door open, all the white in the room hurt my eyes so i just kept them closed. "evelynn, are you awake?" i head my mothers voice. OH SHIT! they called my mom? "Mommy, is that you?" the words slipped out of my mouth so innocently, she couldn't possibly do her routine bitching when i fuck up. "Why won't you open your eyes baby doll?" she asked pushing the hair out of my face and behind my ear. "The sun is making all this white hurt my eyes, can someone close the binds?" i sighed. Behind my eye lids, everything started to get dark, i popped on eye open to make sure it was okay, and when it was i opened both my eyes to see my mothers beautiful face. "I'm so glad your okay baby girl, i was so scared i was going to lose you." she hugged me as tight as she could. "Me too, Mama." I smiled taking in all the love she was smothering me with.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING TAKING DRUGS FROM SOME STRANGER, OR TAKING DRUGS AT ALL, EVELYNN. I KNOW I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THIS."
annndd, the bitching begins..
I'm sorry, but that's the thing i wasn't thinking. I just did it." i said sending my look of stupidity her way. "I won't ever touch them again, i swear i have learned my lesson. i promise no more." I started to tear up, the thought of almost dying, really got to me. That could have been it. No more Vic, Mike, or the rest of the band, no more friends, or growing up, no future and most importantly... No more Lillian Casemen. my mom means well, and i know she does. She cares and thats all i could ever ask for... A mom that loves, cares and protects you. She's the best thing in my life right now. "Good, i proud to hear you say that." she smiled at me. Although, i couldn't help but feel like i was lying. But i really wanted to be done with the drugs.
At that very moment, i promised myself that this was it, no more drugs. I had to learn the value of the word "no."
There was a slight knock on the door, I looked over and my eyes met Vic's as my mother got off the bed. "I'll let you two talk, I'm gonna go find the doctor and see if i can bring you home today." She said pursing her lips together before walking out the room. I looked down as he took a seat on my bed. a wave a shame and embarrassment crashed over me like a tsunami. "Look, before you talk, or say anything...Know that i'm very sorry i put you through this. I know it must have been scary..and i've already made myself and my mom a promise that i will never do drugs again." I explained myself without raising my head at all. He pulled me into a hug, i knew he was mad at me but i hugged him back anyway. I let out a huge sigh of relief before he pulled away and looked at me with his cute boyish smile. "Evelynn i know you've been doing them with Justine for awhile now. You're mom told me while we were in the waiting room this morning." He said taking my hands into his. "We're best friends, why didn't you tell me that this was going on?"
Here comes that tsunami again...fuck my life...
I started to tear up. "I don't know, you seem so busy with the band, and we've hardly talked in awhile and this is the most we've hung out since we were kids. And i'm not saying this is the bands fault because i TOTALLY support you and your music, it's just when you stopped having all this time for me....annnndd you, i found Justine and i knew her habits and i knew that if i wanted to be friends with her i had to give in to that lifestyle. Drinking, partying and doing drugs. I just wanted to fit in somewhere, i guess. And once i finally felt like i did, i liked the feeling of being high..I felt like i had not a damn thing to worry about. My stress was gone, all my worries disappeared, and i liked it, and i didn't think this was ever going to happen. I didn't think it weed was a big deal.." I raised my head to reveal the stream that was running down my face from my eyes.
He cupped my face with his hands and wiped my tears away. "I care about you, i really thought i was gonna lose you, Evelynn. & I don't want that, i would have lost a huge part of myself if that were to happen. Your everything to me, without you, i wouldn't have music to make." He said glamoring me with his dark brown eyes and his sexy smile. "I promise you i'm not going anywhere" i whispered grabbing his hand that was still placed on my face, keeping up with his gaze and matching his smile. Vic began to lean in slowly, our lips so close that I'm breathing in every breath he is taking. "Evelynn Casemen" i hear as break away from Vic and look up at my doctor.

"Yes doctor?" I said clenching my teeth together. "you can go home today, You seem well enough and your mom is persisting it happens." He smiled. "Just a few things, here." he looked down at his clip board. "No P.E during school, i have a note for you. I'll ask that you drink lots of water, and start eating healthy balanced meals throughout the rest of the week. Your body is still repairing itself so you will need a lot of vitamins and protein. Get plenty of rest, don't be partying and running around." He shot me one of those looks. I pursed my lips together and nodded. He handed me a few papers. and asked me to sign my form. Okay, well you can take your time gathering your things, if you have any questions, i'll be out in the hall." he said before closing the door behind him.
"Welp, i guess i'm all set to go home." i said trying to avoid the fact that we almost just kissed. "Yeah, I'll let you get dressed and whatever. I'll be in the hall when your ready." he got off the bed pursing his lips together. "Okay, i'll just be a minute." I said fixing my hair as he walked out the room. I climbed out of bed as i smacked myself in the head. good going, dumbass. I pulled my dress back over my curvy body and threw my hair up and grabbed my heels, and walked out the room. "You ready to go?" he said throwing his keys up and catching up. "Yeeeaaahhh, where's my mom?" I asked. "Oh, she asked me to take you home since she wes running late for work, or something." He said shrugging his shoulders. "alright, well.. I'm ready when you are." i smiled.
The car ride home was kinda quite other than the sound of the music playing, and the sound of the cars wooshing as we past them on the free way. We pulled up into Vic's driveway, we walked in to see Mike pacing like a mad man back and forth in the living room while the other 2 watched him from the couch. "Dude, chill the fuck out. I'm sure she's fine, you've been doing this for over an hour now." Jaime said. "Yeah, and what if she isn't?" Mike was clearly flipping out. "But i am, see." I said smiling. It's good to know i had people to care for me. Especially when i just met them. "EVELYNN" the three of them shouted and ran to me. Mike picked me up and spun me around. as the other 2 just just hugged me like normal people would. "You, guys i'm alright." I giggled. Yeah, and you need a shower, you smell like vomit and alcohol." mike laughed. I gave him the death look and then secretly smelled myself. "woah, yeah i agree." i said making a sour face. Everyone laughed as we walked back to the couch. "You can go take a shower, i'll lay you out some clothes on my bed. Towels are in the bathroom closet, and you can use anything in there, BUT razors." vic smiled. "asshole." i said laughing and then running away before he could say anything back.

*Vic's POV*
I waited till i heard the shower running before talking to the guys about what happened at the hosptial, so we just sat and talked about random things till she wasn't able to hear us talking. Alright, she's in. "So, what happened, dude." Tony sat up. "Doctor said she did indeed overdose. "On what though, that's what we wanna know." Jaime remarked. "Doctor said that the weed she smoked was laced with LSD and Cocaine." I looked down as my smoach was in knots. All i could think about was kicking the the living shit outta Kyle Jefferson. No good peice of - "Wait, LSD is a liquid, and you can't even really O.D on it, you just trip out really bad and act all kinds of crazy, like parionia and shit." Mike piped in breaking me from my thought. "I know, when they were detoxing her, she started saying how she was freaking out, and thought she was being experimented on and something about aliens taking her and all this weird shit. Then she was sweating and it was just a mess." i explained.
"But she'll be okay. The Doctor gave her a list of rules to follow. So, this week, NO parties." I shot a look at mike. "...come on. you're kidding." He whinned. "No, im not. I think it's best she stays here for awhile. I don't trust her at her own house right now. Justine, the girl who got her into this shit is always climbing threw her window and shit and her mom isn't really home cause she works all the time. and when she is, Evelynn is always in her room or in the attic. At lest when she is here, she will have eyes on her at all times and she won't break the promise she made to me or her mom." I looked at them. "Yeah, i agree. I'm all for it." Tony said as Jaime nodded in agreement with him. "Yeah, true. alright. Fine." Mike said sitting back on the couch. "You guys can't say anything to her about this, im gonna go call her mom, and then talk to her about what the doctor said. So please don't say anything yet." I said as the shower turned off. I walked out to the back porch and sat on the step and called Evelynn's mom and explained to her what i did to the guys, and she agreed it would be better for her. "you can trust me, Ms. Casemen. I'll make sure she goes to school everyday and stays away from Justine." i said before hanging up.
I walked back into the house and knocked on the door to make sure she wasn't naked or something. "come in" i heard. I opened the door and she was in her towel. "sorry, i forgot to lay you out clothes. But um, can i talk to you?" i asked. "can i get dressed?" she laughed looking down at her towel. "Oh, yeah." i scuffed and got her a pair of shorts and my fall out boy shirt. and walked out and stood in the hall way till she was done. "alright" i heard her plop down on my bed as i walked in. "so, what's up." she said crossing her legs. "well i talked to your mom about staying here awhile, just till you feel like your okay enough to go home." I said smiling. I really wanted her to stick around. I liked her here, i had someone to talk to, and be around all the time. It felt like we were kids again. "Why do you want me to stay?" she looked confused. "Cause, your mom is always working and your gonna get bored by yourself and plus, i don't really trust you being by yourself and then Justine coming over and pushing you do something you promised you wouldn't." i half smiled. "so, your saying you don't trust me? Like you think i won't tell her no?" she sounded defensive. "No, not at all. I just ...." "You just what?" she whipped. "Like when your here, feels...Right. Like you belong here with me. Kinda like how we were kids and hung out everyday." I said rubbing my arm as she smiled.
"Oh, i had no idea you felt that way." She said. "Now, i feel stupid for getting upset." she burried her face in her hands. I pulled her hands away to see her blushing, "aw, you're so cute when your blush." I smiled as she pushed me away. "shutup." "So, will you...Will you stay?" I bit my lip waiting for her to answer. "Yeah, I'll stay. I love here. I just didn't think you trusted me. It made me feel like i was being treated like a kid and you had to "watch" me, know?" She said. "yeah, i understand.
"Lets go get you some clothes from your house, and whatever else you need. Then we have to go get grocieries." I got off the bed and held out my hand. She smiled and took it, We walked downstairs and told them the deal, i'll make them a list of stuff to get from the store and pitch in some money and we'll go get her stuff from her house and then meet back here for dinner. We all agreed to the deal, i gave them $100 and the list and we got into our cars and took off. The car ride was quite, i had to decide when i wanted to tell evelynn about what the Doctor said, she had a right to know...But I couldn't help but think about her. I looked over at her and she had her hand out the window moving like she was making waves. I smiled. I loved to see her happy, cause ever since last year when her dad finally left, she hasn't been happy...
I'm not gonna lie Evelynn was a really amazing girl. Growing up she was my best friend. We did everything together, We were attached at the hip. People didn't know me as "Vic" they knew me as "Vic and Evelynn." Cause she was ALWAYS with me. Till the summer right before our junior year. Mike and I started our band, Pierce The Veil. We're hoping to get signed soon. We have a few people intrested in us. But that's when we started throwing these parties cause Mike is a Senior now and so is Jaime. But i've hardly had time to spend with Evelynn. Growing up i used to have this crush on her and i think i still might have feelings, maybe even stronger feelings. I guess i'll figure this out soon enough.
We pulled up to her house, and she unlocked the door and let me in. "I shouldn't be long." She walked into her room and i followed her and made sure she had everything she needed. "Need anything else, shampoo, razors cause your not using mine, condtioner, other girl stuff." i said laughing as she just stared at me. "your so funny. and yes i do actually. can you go get it for me please. Its the Herbal Esensses stuff. and my razor is the yellow one. and the box under the sink." She said. I nodded and got all her stuff. "I can't believe you had me grab you tampons." i laughed. "Well, i might need them i haven't gotten it this month." she laughed. I gave her a duck face and big eyes. "Oh shit, home girl might be pregers, ya'll." I said in a ghetto voice. She started to laugh at me. "i am not! im still a virgin." She blushed. Alright, well you got everything?" "Yeah. i got everything." She said. "Make sure your windows are locked or justine might break in." i said sarcastically. "you know, that's not a bad idea." she laughed as she locked all the windows in the house before locking the front door as we left. I opened the door for her as she put her stuff on the floor of my car and climbed in and then shut the door for her. I got in myself and started to head back to my house.
We started to sing one of her favorite songs by Hot Chelle Rae with the volume so loud that every old person we passed by would flip us off. " Ima go 'cause I got no problem with saying goodbye. Is it wrong that I'm gonna be having the time of my life? 'Cause deep down I know I should cry I should scream and get down on my knees, I should say that I need you here. But I'm gonna party tonight, 'Cause honestly I just don't care, honestly I just don't care." She sang out loud with her beautiful voice as we pulled up the drive way to see the boys bring in bags from the store. That night we made grilled chicken, with mash potatoes and had a salad to go wtih it, after dinner i asked Evelynn to come out on the porch with me, i had to talk to her... This was it, now or never.
We sat on the step, and i began to tell her what i told the guys. She couldn't stop laughing at the fact she thought she had be obducted by aliens. but she was really pissed off at Kyle for druging her. and suprisingly she took it better than i thought she would. "Thank you for telling me, and be so gental about it. It shows you care" She said bumping her shoulder playfully into mine. "I told you i care about you." Just then another moment happened. I felt like a magnet being drawn in to her, I started to lean in to kiss her. She put her hand around my neck and our lips met. For a whole two minutes we did nothing but kiss. And out of all the girls i've been with, she was by far the most beautiful. "Oh, god. I thought you two wer just talking" Mike ruined the moment. We realized what happened and she ran inside and slammed my bed room door.
"Dude, come on!" I said throwing my hands up. "Sorry, bro. that was just weird." Mike found this funny. "She's probably dying of embarssement right now, thanks to you." I said walking past him.
I could never tell her, but she's everything i dream for in a girl, i had to have her.
