{A/N: Hey guys, just before I start I just wanted to say sorry for the really long wait for this chapter as I am in the midst of moving to a new house and I really haven't been home to write, but it's here so I hope you enjoy :3}
{Y/N} stands next to the Doctor decked out in full 50's gear as they wait outside for Rose.
"You know..." {Y/N} starts "I hate going to places that involve high heels" she says looking up at the Doctor who chuckles, she rolls her eyes at him, suddenly Rose comes out of the TARDIS in a pair of pink high heels and also decked out in full 50's gear.
"I thought we'd be going for the Vegas era, you know the white flares and the, grr, chest hair" Rose says "I like the quiff by the way" she says pointing to the Doctor who flashes a grin.
"You are kidding, aren't you? You want to see Elvis, you go for the late fifties. The time before burgers. When they called him the Pelvis and he still had a waist. What's more, you see him in style" the Doctor walks into the TARDIS and rides out on a scooter with a side car.
{A/N: Cause, there is three people this is the scooter, since there really isn't a three-person scooter, there might be but who knows XD}
"You going my way, doll?" the Doctor grins looking at {Y/N} who had her arms crossed.
"Don't ever say that again" she says shaking her head.
"How about you, Rose?"
"Is there any other way to go, daddy-o? Straight from the fridge, man" Rose says, the Doctor and {Y/N} look at her.
"Hey, you speak the lingo" the Doctor says as {Y/N} climbs on behind him and Rose gets into the side car.
"Oh well, me, mum, Cliff Richard movies every Bank Holiday Monday" Rose replies putting on a pink helmet whereas the Doctor and {Y/N} already had theirs on.
"Ah, Cliff. I knew your mother would be a Cliff fan" the Doctor says starting up the scooter and driving off.
"Where we off to?" Rose asks a little while later.
"Ed Sullivan TV Studios. Elvis did Hound Dog on one of the shows. There were loads of complaints. Bit of luck, we'll just catch it" {Y/N} replies.
"And that'll be TV studios in, what, New York?"
"That's the one" sometime later the Doctor pulls up by a red post box and they all get off and look around, taking their helmets off as they do so.
"Ha! Digging that New York vibe" Rose says looking at the Union flags that were stung up between the houses.
"Well, this could still be New York. I mean, this looks very New York to me. Sort of Londony New York, mind" the Doctor says.
"What are all the flags for?" Rose asks, the Doctor shrugs as they all make their way down the street by foot, they soon spot a man pulling out a television from the back of a van.
"There you go, sir, all wired up for the great occasion."
"The great occasion? What do you mean?" the Doctor asks walking up to him.
"Where've you been living, out in the Colonies? Coronation, of course."
"What Coronation's that then?"
"What do you mean? The Coronation" {Y/N} leans towards the Doctor.
"It's the Queen's. Queen Elizabeth" she says.
"Oh! Is this 1953?" he asks, {Y/N} nods.
"Last time I looked. Time for a lovely bit of pomp and circumstance, what we do best" the man says.
"Look at all the TV aerials. Looks like everyone's got one. That's weird. My nan said tellies were so rare they all had to pile into one house" Rose says.
"Not around here, love. Magpie's Marvellous Tellies, only five quid a pop."
"Oh, but this is a brilliant year. Classic! Technicolour, Everest climbed, everything off the ration. The nation throwing off the shadows of war and looking forward to a happier, brighter future" the Doctor says smiling.
"Someone help me, please! Ted!" everyone looks over at the woman who screamed to see two burly men in black suites bundle a person into the back of a car "leave him alone! He's my husband! Please."
"What's going on?" the Doctor asks running over followed by {Y/N} and Rose, that's when a boy runs out of a house.
"Oi, what are you doing?" the boy asks.
"Police business. Now, get out of the way, sir."
"Who did they take? Do you know him?" Rose asks looking at the boy.
"Must be Mister Gallagher" the car drives away "It's happening all over the place. They're turning into monsters."
"Tommy! Not one word! Get inside now!" a man presumably the boy's father shouts from the doorway.
"Sorry. I'd better do as he says" Tommy says as he walks back inside, the Doctor, {Y/N} and Rose all walk back to the scooter and get on.
"All aboard!" the Doctor says as he starts the scooter and chases after the car that the man had been put into "lost them. How'd they get away from us?" the Doctor looks around.
"Surprised they didn't turn back and arrest you for reckless driving. Have you actually passed your test?" Rose asks.
"Men in black? Vanishing police cars? This is Churchill's England, not Stalin's Russia" the Doctor says.
"Monsters, that boy said. Maybe we should go and ask the neighbours" Rose suggests.
"That's what I like about you. The domestic approach" the Doctor starts up the scooter again.
"Thank you. Hold on, was that an insult? Whoa!" the Doctor speeds off again.
*Time skip*
{Y/N}, the Doctor and Rose walk up to the door and {Y/N} rings the bell, a brief time later it opens to revel Tommy's father.
"Hi!" Rose, {Y/N} and the Doctor say at the same time.
"Who are you three, then?"
"Let's see, then. Judging by the look of you, family man, nice house, decent wage, fought in the war, therefore I represent Queen and country" the Doctor holds up the psychic paper.
"Just doing a little check of Her Forthcoming Majesty's subjects before the great day. Don't mind if we come in? Nah, I didn't think you did. Thank you" {Y/N} says walking in followed by Rose and the Doctor.
"Not bad. Very nice. Very well kept. I'd like to congratulate you, Mrs?" the Doctor asks looking around the living room.
"Connolly" the women replies.
"Now then, Rita. I can handle this. This gentleman's a proper representative. Don't mind the wife, she rattles on a bit" the man replies.
"Well, maybe she should rattle on a bit more. I'm not convinced you're doing your patriotic duty. Nice flags. Why are they not flying?" the Doctor looks around.
"There we are Rita, I told you, Get them up. Queen and country."
"I'm sorry" Rita says.
"Get it done. Do it now."
"Hold on a minute" {Y/N} says.
"Like the gentleman says."
"Hold on a minute. You've got hands, Mister Connolly. Two big hands. So why is that your wife's job?" {Y/N} asks.
"Well, it's housework, innit?"
"And that's a woman's job?"
"Of course, it is."
"Mister Connolly, what gender is the Queen?"
"She's a female."
"And are you suggesting the Queen does the housework?"
"No. Not at all."
"Then get busy."
"Right. Yes, ma'am. You'll be proud of us, ma'am. We'll have Union Jacks left, right and centre" Mr. Connolly says, the Doctor leans down a bit and goes to say something to {Y/N} who then looks up at him.
"Don't" she warns quietly, he gives her a toothy smile.
"Don't do what?" he asks cheekily, she squints at him.
"You, know what" she says.
"Excuse me, Mister Connolly. Hang on a minute. Union Jacks?" Rose asks.
"Yes, that's right, isn't it?"
"That's the Union Flag. It's the Union Jack only when it's flown at sea."
"Oh. Oh, I'm sorry, I do apologise."
"Well, don't get it wrong again, there's a good man. Now get to it!"
