"You can't sit in your room all afternoon and listen to 'The Best of Taylor Swift's Breakup songs' for the rest of the week!" Mia scolded me as we ran another lap during cheerleading practice,
"I can and I will"
"He's off the grid- not dead" she told me and a frown appeared on my face,
"He's not dead!" Mia reassured me.
Of course he's not dead. I shouldn't be stupid, Joseph wouldn't kill his only son, right? I'm just overthinking it.
"We're going to meet him today anyway" Mia added.
It was Wednesday, we were supposed to meet Logan today and I could not be more anxious,
"See you tomorrow girls!" Monique yelled to us and I nearly collapsed on the floor from exhaustion,
Mia started walking off towards the bleachers where we kept our bags,
"Leave me here, save yourself" I called out to her and she ignored me.
Suddenly I was lifted into the hair by a strong pair of arms as they threw me over their shoulder,
"We leave no man behind" Valentino's familiar voice rang through the air and I could faintly make out the chuckles of the boys behind me.
"Val, you asshole! I'm wearing a skirt!" I pounded my fists on his back and he chuckled, dropping me down on the hard metal bleachers.
"Ow" I muttered, rubbing my ass,
"Hey babe" Mia greeted Will with a peck on her lips,
"Hey babe" I mocked in a high pitched voice and Mia threw her empty water bottle at me which hit me square on my forehead.
"Want some fries with that salt?" Mia shot back which earned her a round of laughs from Val, Chase, Will, Grayson and Ethan.
"So where are we meeting up with Logan?" Grayson questioned as we grabbed our bags and headed to the car park,
"Evergreen bridge" Chase replied,
"Now?" I asked,
"Now".

When we reached Evergreen bridge Megan, Noah, Liam, Dylan, Chase, Kyle, Kasey, Vicky and Beth.
"Took you long enough" Kasey spoke,
"Sorry, there's this thing that helps us learn; it's called the education system- otherwise known as high school" Valentino shot back and which started an argument between them.
"Do you have food?" Liam questioned when Chase joined us,
Liam began ravaging Chase's school bag in search of his beloved food.
"So how was sch-" Megan started before Mia interrupted her,
"Monique is such a bitch!" Mia complained,
"You know, back in my day-"
"Meg, sweetie, I don't want to hear about when the dinosaur were alive"
"I'm only six years older, you shit face".
"How was school?" Noah asked me,
"Boring, tiring, exhausting, a waste of time, did I already say boring? I have a whole list prepared"
"Okay dial down the attitude just a bit" Noah joked, "What's up?"
"I'm just really nervous"
"Everything is going to be fine" Noah reassured me, "Logan's going to get here safe and sound and we're all going to get through this weekend like every other weekend" he said, pulling me into a hug.
When we pulled apart I noticed Beth was staring out onto the road below her where the cars whizzed past us, she was completely unaware of our presence, her attention was solely on the scenery in front of her.
"Pretty, isn't it?" I spoke as I knelt down beside her to watch the cars zoom past us,
She nodded.
We waited for a hour,
Then two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Until it was midnight.
"He'll come" I reassured Mia, Noah and Megan who carried Beth in her arms, they were the last four who waited for me.
"He's not coming" Mia yawned,
Everyone else had left since they all had to go home, though they promised they'd check in with us in the morning.
Logan was coming. I was sure of it.
I watched the cars whizz by underneath us, they were now illuminated by the lampposts and lights under the night sky,
I didn't want to think about Logan not meeting us here because if I even considered that possibility that would make me even more anxious than I already was.
That would mean that I wouldn't hear from Logan until Sunday.
And anything could happen in that time.
"We'll meet you three at home," Noah told Mia, Megan and Beth who nodded before heading off.
"Alex" Noah spoke, "Logan is going to be fine"
I twisted my body around to face him, "You don't know that",
"Christ- Alex, I don't know how many times I have to reassure you that he's going to be alright",
He watched me intently, "You're scared," he pointed out.
"No shit Sherlock" I deadpanned, "Quit trying to analyze me",
Noah chuckled at that, "I get that you're scared, but suck it up"
I raised my eyebrows at him, this talk was not going in the direction I thought it would.
"Seriously, get over it because I'm tired of trying to make you understand that we're all going to get through this when I know you're brave enough to realize it yourself. So let's go home I'm starving" I rolled my eyes at my brother,
"But-"
"No buts, no cuts, no coconuts"
"How are we related?"
"I ask myself the same question everyday"
"Piss off!" I yelled jokingly at him before reluctantly heading off to the car with Noah following behind me,
Suddenly his phone went off and he stopped to answer it.
"Hi Megs" he answered cheerily but his face soon fell, "What?"
This instantly caught my attention.
I briskly walked back up to him and listened intently,
I couldn't make out what Megan was saying but her voice seemed frantic and I could hear cars honking in the background.
"We'll meet you there, be careful" Noah muttered before rushing towards the car,
"Noah? What's happening" I asked as he got into the drivers seat and I got into shotgun,
He paused and turned to me, eyeing me carefully before continuing.
"Beth collapsed on the way home, they're taking her to the hospital"
"What?!" I nearly yelled, "But I thought-"
"Remember how I told you we buy Beth's medicine from Joseph?" he asked me,
"Beth has a rare heart disease that they don't have a cure for, less than sixty people on this earth have it" and I let out a small gasp, my heart broke even more that a girl as young as Beth was going through something so serious.
"It's a long and confusing name that I can't be bothered to repeat after today's events. They do however have a type of medicine that can be bought to keep the disease at bay, unfortunately the manufacturers can't ship it to Grove Hills because apparently there are people who need it more than Beth" he said growling the last part under his breath.
"We found another way to get the medicine though, Ryder's dad has a share in the manufacturing of it so we pay Ryder's dad for the medicine to give to Beth" he finished.
I nodded.
"We haven't exactly been on speaking terms with Joseph lately, have we? And I doubt he's going to give us a supply after everything that's happened, I was hoping Logan would meet up with us today and somehow have a fresh batch whipped up but..." Noah trailed off,
Then I realized I wasn't the only one who was counting on Logan coming back today.
I sunk back in my seat as we drove towards the hospital,
I just got my sister back; no way was I going to lose her again.
