I march into the kitchen
Fully aware of what I'll see
Still, tears trail down my cheeks while I glare.
Her arms around you in a warm embrace.
She glares at me, her almond eyes blazing.
Challenging me.
Just as she always did when we were kids.
Back then, I would've backed down.
Back then, I "knew my place."
I'm older now.
Older and wiser
I won't back down.
I will fight for what's mine.
