As pretty as a flame,
But dangerous like one too.
She's made of glass,
Bright and brilliant blue.
She is undeniably beautiful,
But as sharp as a knife.
Unique and mesmerizing,
She'll consume your life.
Glass girl within the stars,
With a soul of night.
Glass girl with a heart of gold,
She'll show you to the light.
As dangerous as a flame,
As beautiful as a pearl,
As brilliant as the stars,
She's the stunning glass girl.
Allura Third Person POV
Shiro's galra hand clenched and glowed a bright magenta before it dimmed. The fingers on his hand twitched and Shiro watched his arm in horror. "I-I'm not doing that," he stammered.
"I see," Allura watched as his hand glowed again. "We'll go see the Mechanic."
"Do you think he'll still be in business after all these years, Princess?" Coran asked.
She was silent for a moment. "I guess you're right. Hopefully his descendants are still working technology. Let us go see." Allura turned and walked to the captain's section of the ship while Coran strapped Shiro's arm to the levitating chair he was sitting in.
She opened a wormhole to the space near planet Quireese. The jump was smooth and a few minutes later, they were on the surface of the planet. Allura lead the group, retracing the steps she had taken with her father over ten thousand years ago. The houses were different, now white with more glass instead of various shades of brown, but they were all in relatively the same spots. She made her way to the edge of town where the Mechanic's shop was.
The building was so much larger than it used to be, and was now white like the rest of the houses in town. The only things that made it particularly noticeable were that some of the windows were made of stained glass and there was an outdoor section on the left. It was separated by a metal fence, but was still covered by a roof. "This should be it. There should be no problem, but I'll do the talking," Allura said and opened the door.
A girl with short, h/c hair was in front of a glass furnace. She pulled the rod out of the furnace, the glass on the end glowing a fiery orange, and swung it from side to side, spinning it as she did so. The edges of the glass vase came outward, making the vase almost look like a splash of water. As soon as she had pulled it out of the furnace, the glass had started cooling, the fiery orange glow fading to show the dark blue striped pattern on the vase. She placed the rod on a table, the vase hanging off the end, and placed a clamp over it so it wouldn't fall off, but had just enough room to spin.
She took a pair of metal tweezers and pressed them against the bottom of the vase while spinning the rod. Then she moved, blocking whatever she was doing from Allura's view. A few minutes later, the girl had finished the glass piece and put it away to cool.
She turned and lifted up her goggles, showing e/c orbs and four f/c stars under her right eye. "Can I help you with something?" She tightened the plaid flannel around her waist and smiled at her potential customers.
"Yes, we're looking for the Mechanic," Allura said.
She grinned, "Well, you've come to the right place. What do you need?"
"Uh... where's the mechanic?" Coran asked.
The girl laughed, but it sounded like she was trying to say she was really frustrated. "Uh... I'm the mechanic?"
{ignore the shoulders please}
POV Switch
You stared at the people standing in your glass workshop. "Anyway, what do you need?"
"We were wondering if you could take a look at our friend's arm..." The white-haired girl gestured to a pretty, male human in a Gravity-Reversing Chair™ or whatever they were called now.
You looked from his arm to the girl. "...It's made out of metal."
A short human in green behind her snickered, "It is."
"No, it-" The one with white hair sighed, "It's made with Galra technology, and it's been... glitching, I guess." As if on cue, the guy's hand formed a fist and glowed a bright white with a magenta glow. It started burning through the arm of the chair and after the armrest was melted halfway through, his hand dimmed.
You stared at the destroyed armrest. "Ah... I see how that could be a problem." You turned and walked toward the door that connected your glass shop to the house. "Follow me please, Human-with-the-arm-problem." You opened the door and gestured for him to go through. "The rest of you can look at the glass in here, or directly inside. Just don't go through that door," you pointed at the wouldn't door on the other side of the workshop. It lead to your forge, where your current project was hanging, as well as all the other swords you had made in your free time. You couldn't have anyone getting stabbed while you were gone.
"This way." You lead him into a room next to your glass collection. "Alright, so you can use your hand, but there's no... psuedo-nerves or anything like that in it, right?"
He nodded, "I think so."
"Okay, so I'm going to open up your arm and basically... disconnect it. Not literally of course, but you won't be able to control your arm for a bit, is that okay?" You pulled out some of your tools.
He nodded, "Yeah, that's- that's fine."
"So... what's your name, who are you, and why have you come to see me of all people?" You asked, opening one of the panels on his arm.
He watched as you examined the inner parts of his arm. "I'm Shiro, I'm the paladin of the black voltron lion, and the Princess said that she had gone to the mechanic when she was younger, so she thought you would be able to fix it."
"Princess?" You asked without looking up, "Are you sure she's come here before? I didn't recognize her."
He laughed, "Well, this is going to sound really weird, but she came here over ten thousand years ago."
"That... That does sound quite strange," you laughed. "That would have been after the government reformed and the first mechanic started the business." You opened another panel of his forearm.
Shiro turned away, probably weirded out by seeing the inner workings of his arm. "Yeah, she's pretty old," he laughed quietly. "So what's your name?"
"You want to know more about me?" You smiled, "That's unusual. I'm Y/n. I am a multismith, if that's even a word, and I live with my best friend, Zane, who is usually out of town."
"Y/n..." He smiled, "You have a very pretty name."
You blushed slightly, "Thanks." The conversation continued smoothly as you fixed his arm, and you found yourself smiling and laughing more than you would like to admit. Almost an hour later, you had finished repairing his arm. "Alright, that should be good." You sighed and stood up.
He flexed his fingers and made his hand glow and dim. "Thank you."
You smiled proudly, "No problem. Now how will you be paying me? Glass? Gems?"
"Oh... uh, I'm sure the princess has something. She said she would take care of it," he smiled nervously.
You shook your head and sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. "Sorry, but when the work is done on a person, it has to be paid for by them or a direct family member. What can you offer me?"
"Uh... I-I don't know." A look of extreme panic came over his face.
You sighed, "Alright, I enjoyed talking to you so I'll let you off easy." You tapped your lips with your pointer finger and winked. "Give me a kiss."
"W-What?"
You crossed your arms, "Or... you could work for me for a year or two, which might throw a wrench in your plans of leading Voltron."
"Okay..." He leaned forward and cupped your face with his hands, pulling you forward until your lips met. Your hands found their way around him and your lips remained pressed together for a few moments before you pulled apart. "...Was that enough?" Shiro asked, his face a bright shade of red.
You laughed, "Yeah, you can go. Thank you for your business, Space Boy." You handed him a slip of paper.
"Thank you," he nodded and walked out.
(O///O)
Pidge waved, "Hey Shiro! You okay?"
"Y-Yeah," he waved with his Galra hand.
She snickered, "I meant your face, but that's good too."
His light blush deepened. "Uh... Well, we can resume our mission."
(O///O)
Shiro was now alone in his room, thinking about the mechanic girl who he'd kissed. He looked down at the paper you had handed him. Come back and visit? ♥
He smiled to himself. "Of course."
