Chapter 9
Ryder POV
I walked Into Kaydens office and he was angry, he started to throw things across the room. I didn't care but he almost hit me
"Hey! Stop it would ya!" I said he was breathing hard, staring at the wall, I cautiously walk to him and hugged him
"Calm down, they're mates, you can't get mad because of that" I said he was smelling my hair and stroking it with one hand. He seemed it calm down but I know he's still mad.
"Let's go home" I said as I pulled away, I grab his arm and took him outside where the red Chevrolet Camaro was sitting in the parking lot.
"Is that my Camaro?" he asked
"Well duh, All you use is that black Farrari and all those car are sitting in your garage collecting dust" I said
"The Farrari is my favorite" he stated
"Well the camaro is mine" I ran into the drivers seat and started the car, I glance outside my window and Kayden was standing there with a grin on his face "are you going to walk home?" I asked coldly
"I think I might" he joked
"Shut up and get in" I said and he got in the passenger seat, I started to drive. I took one hand off the wheel and hold Kaydens hand. I have to tell him about me being a Female Alpha plan, I pressed my lips together.
"Kayden, I have to tell you something" I said
"Sure what is it?"
"Well while the two months you were in a coma, I asked Sam if I can take over as an alpha because you know his mate is due to give birth at any moment. So that meant that I did all the work and Challenges"
"Ryder get to the point" he warned
"Well.....some of the challengers were alphas and-"
"Do not tell me you lost in submission, Ryder don't tell me another alpha is running this pack" he said
"Well there is and it's not any of the challengers" I murmured, we arrived and I parked the car, I got out quickly before he can reply.
"Ryder what do you mean?" he said following me into the house, I ignore him and walked into his room.
"Ryder, if i have to run you'll regret that decision" I ran up the stair and heard him running after me, I started to run in his room, I lock the door and ran into the closet and his in clothes that were hung on a pole, I felt like a kid hiding from there mother in a clothing store. Luckily I was short so It doesn't even look like I was in here, I heard Kayden braking the door open
"Ryder! Where are you?!" he yelled I'm guessing he was looking around the room because he was taking awhile, when I heard him go into the closet I was quiet. I couldn't make any sudden sounds or movements, He growled. I almost laughed but I was hiding from him, I covered my mouth with my hand so I wouldnt laugh. when he was half way out the closet, I sighed through my nose. He stop walking and walked toward the direction from were I was hiding, he move the clothes out of the way and saw me sitting there.
"Found you" he said he pulled me closer to him and carried my over his shoulder.
"Put me down" I said hitting his back, he carried me down the stair and to the living room, he drop me on the couch. he looks mad, crap, I have to explain it to him. I swallowed hard but I gave him an blank expression
"You better tell me what the hell you meant by another Alpha is running this pack" he said
"Well there was a lot of-"
"I don't give a shit about those fucking challenges, Ryder! I want to know why there is Another Alpha running my pack!" he yelled at me, I growled, I stood up from the couch and put both my hands on my hips, I will not let my mate yell at me. Especially now that I'm an Alpha! He shouldn't yell at another Alpha, It's rude
"Don't speak to me like that! It's not like I did that on purpose It just happened!" I shouted at him
"So you just happen to let someone become an Alpha!" he shouted
"Look it's every complicated just let me-"
"Complicated? You know what's complicated, I have to challenge that Alpha, fight to the death, That's complicated Ryder not your petty bull shit" he shouted at me
"Petty?" I whispered and walked out the room "why don't you rest, I have to go finish some work anyway" I said without expression
"Ryder I'm sorry I didn't-"
"No it's okay, just go rest that way you don't have to deal with my petty bull shit" I walked to his office
I was in there for two hours, I finished all the work a hour ago, the other hour and I just sat there. This was suppose to be a great time, we were suppose to be together and be happy. I dialed Sams number
"Hello?" he said
"Hey Sam when's the next challenge?" I asked
"Tomorrow, but this one is very......difficult, Almost as strong as you" he said
"Like I said I love them strong and It just makes things interesting" I said
"yeah okay........did you tell him?" He asked
"No, he didn't let me. We had an argument"
"Already? Wow!" he laughed
"Just don't tell him got it? He doesn't need to know. And I also want to know if they are any other meeting?" I saw Kayden walk into the room, I glance at him
"Not that I've heard of but you have to tell him today" Sam said
"I know and I will, thanks Sam"I hung up and looked at Kayden, if he's here for another argument then he has another thing coming, he looked as if he went to the gym. He was only wearing baseball shorts, he was all sweaty and his hair was wet from his sweat. He was shirtless and I saw his sweaty abs, I felt like licking his abs but I mentally shook my head and got back into reality
"Ryder I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that" he said sitting on the edge of his desk.
"Well I'm sorry my bullshit was petty" I said coldly
"Ryder I didn't mean to say that, I'm-"
"I don't want to hear it, i've had a long day. I'm done arguing today and I have to do something tomorrow" I said as I got up from my chair, I walked past him and he grab my arm. I felt tingles shoot through me, I've missed those.
"Please just listen to me" he begged
"No, I want to sleep and from the looks from it, you didn't have any. So we are both going to bed" I said he didn't say anything, he lets go of my arm and followed me into his room. I changed into my pajamas, he was staring at me changing into my pajamas. When I was finished I crawled on the bed and closed my eyes, hoping sleep doesn't find me.
I had a nightmare of me pulling a gun on Kayden again, I woke up screaming. The pain on my chest was coming back, I screamed again because of the pain. I felt someone pulling me into their chest, I knew it was Kayden. I started to breathe hard and my shirt and forehead was damp from sweat, the pain was gone.
"Calm down, it was just a dream" he Soothe me, I started to rub my chest. He grab my hand and he started to rub my chest, I buried my face in his chest and cried
"Wanna tell me what happened?" he asked I shook my head, he sat up and put on his lap. I rest my head on his chest, I looked like a kid sitting on his lap. I forgot how much I hated feeling so small near him, he wiped my tears away with his thumb.
"I-I pulled a gun on you" I whispered
"You what?"
"That what I dreamt of, I don't know why but I know what it means" I said
"What does it mean?" he asked
"that it's my fault, if you would have never came to save me you would have never been in a coma"
"No it's not your fault, it's mine I wasn't paying attention to what was happening"he said and hold my hand we stood there In silence, I closed my eyes until sleep hit me. I hoped he fought off any of my nightmares
When I woke up, Kayden wasn't in bed. I sat up quick and begun to panic, i ran out the room and heard something in the kitchen. I quickly ran there and saw him making breakfast, I sighed in relief and I heard him chuckle.
"Did I wake you?" he asked
"No but you scared me, I thought everything was a dream" I admitted
"Good, since it isn't, wanna eat?" he asked
"Yes please" I said and he served me a beacon egg and cheese sandwich with a fruit salad also orange juice. We started to eat in silence until he broke it
"Can we talk about the alpha thing?" he asked
"It depends" I said
"On?"
"If your going to listen to me or not"
"Fine I'll listen just tell me" he grumbled
"Since some of the challengers were Alphas, Sam said he should do them but I insisted on fighting them. I won every challenge given to me, but when I went to the Cross pack to talk about things, I found out that I was a Female Alpha" I said he had a blank expression so I continued "I tried to solve the puzzle to see why I was one and I found out that some of the Alpha powers were transmitted to me and I became an alpha female, alpha Bernard also said I was a size of one"
"So your the other alpha?"
"Yes, but I swear I just wanted to be a Luna, it kind of happened" I said and shrugged, I looked at the time. I had to get ready for the challenge
"Look I have a challenge to go to so I need to get ready" I kissed his cheek and ran up stairs.
