I woke up later than usual today, probably because I stayed up late, watching cheesy romance movies and envisioning us. I expected you to be at your usual seat in the kitchen, eating yet another bowl of cereal, but instead a small note replaced your spot.
Drowsily, I stumbled off the couch to read it.

I'm going out all morning! Should be back later! Enjoy your day!

I stared intently at your writing for a good minute, memorizing the way you dot your eyes with hearts and how you make the C in my name extra fancy, as if it was special.
While I should've been worried about where you went or what you were up to, I was more hung up on the fact that you cared enough to write me a note. When you were writing that, it had to have meant something to you, right?
