Serah Allan stood outside a large, ornate door once again, and was once again not moving. She was frozen with fear, her slim figure almost lost in the dress ordered two sizes too big for her. Sighing, she moved to walk away when the door swung open, throwing itself in her path and effectively knocking her off of her feet.

Her waves of pale blond hair swung around her shoulders, emphasizing how small she really was. A tall boy, followed by two identical twins, walked out of the door and jumped when he saw the state she was in.

“Are you okay Miss... Miss... I don’t know your name. But are you okay, Miss?” the tall one said, his blue eyes sparkling with curiosity and mischief. He extended his hand and pulled Serah off of the floor. Blushing, she muttered her name.

“Serah Allan. My name is Serah.” Her small voice petered out near the end, losing all of the melodies it held. She bowed lightly, thanking him, and ran away.

--

“Tamaki, who was that girl?” Hikaru asked me, throwing one of his sarcastic glances my way. I shrugged, hiding my intrigue. I wanted to know also, of course. But I barely caught her name before she ran away. Her hair and her eyes.., her shy mannerisms... I wanted to know her. She was new. An enigma, you might call her. I snapped out of my trance as a cake came flying at my face.

“Alright, who threw it?!” I yelled, looking around at each man in the room. The twins were taking turns hiding behind each other, while Kyouya just kind of stood there. Mori and Honey were off being childish... So that left...

Another slab of cake hit me square in the back of the head. I turned to see Haruhi Fujioka duck behind a doorway. “Haruhi!” I yelled, throwing down a pillow in anger as I began to chase her. She ran off, quickly hiding behind Honey and Mori. I shrunk back as she did so.

“Please don’t do that Haruhi... That’s most unpleasant.” I said, making my voice tiny as I articulated my speech. She stuck her tongue out at me and laughed, clapping me on the back as I watched her boyish figure walk away.

                Damn.

I pulled Kyouya’s computer off of a desk, and accessed our school’s attendance files. Ouran Academy only had a handful of girls whose names started with ‘S’, and all of the profiles were complete with picture and a general bio.

                Sarah Asher.

                Samantha Kirr.

                Serah Allan.

                Shimmer Salve.

                Siri Salvatore.

                ...Wait.

“Serah Allan! There she is!” I stared at the little picture on the screen in wonderment, memorizing her face.  Long, pale blond hair, green eyes, and about 5 foot 4. How cute! I bit my lip, my smile stretching across my face. I’d find her. She was captivating. But apparently also crushingly shy, which explained why she ran from me.

Serah. Serah Allan. I’ll make you know me.

---

“Oh mom,  I want to come home. I’m so lonely here. I haven’t made one single friend yet... Please can I come back?” Serah whispered into her pink cell phone. She was tired of Ouran Academy and all of its cruel girls.

“Honey, can’t you stick it out a little longer? We can’t have you home yet. We’re still fixing things dear.” Her mother said, and tears quickly filled her eyes. She snapped her phone shut and quickly turned on her heel, running directly into the boy she’d seen earlier.

“Hey. I saw you earlier. Your name is Serah, right? Serah Asher?” He said, his voice cool and smooth like honey. Serah shuddered in her shoes, shrinking back against the wall she had been hiding behind.

“Y-Yes.” She stuttered, staring directly at her shoes.

“My name is Takami Suoh. I’m the President of the Ouran High School Host Club. You, Miss Serah, are a very lovely girl. How I haven’t noticed you before, is beyond my comprehension.”  His eyes watched her with almost a childlike curiosity. He extended his hand and she stammered for a moment before taking hold of it. “Come with me?”

“Alright... I suppose it’s okay for me to go...” She said, walking sheepishly behind him. He was amazing, now that she looked at him. His hair was a pure honey color, and his eyes captivated all who looked into them. His tallness made her feel protected, and she loved it.

“Excellent. I’ll have to let the others know.” He said, smiling back at her excitedly. He seemed to ooze happiness and poise, but what else could she expect from the prince of her school?

“Others... The Hitachiin twins, Morinozuka and Haninozuka, Mister Fujioka, and Mister Ootori? Is that who you’re talking about, Suoh-san?” She asked, trying to remember all of the people she’d heard were involved.

“Your memory is astounding. Yes, I am talking about them. Hikaru and Kaoru, Mori and Honey, Haruhi, and Kyouya. And by the by, you may call me Tamaki, Miss Serah.”

“Okay..” Serah said, smiling for the first time in a while.

---

The trip to the room was uneventful, to say the least. As they entered the room, however, the world around them quickly turned to chaos. Cake was flying, the twins were getting huggy, Haruhi was nowhere to be found, and Kyouya was off in computer-based la-la-land.

“HEY! I leave for ten minutes to find her...” Tamaki trailed off, searching for Haruhi. He looked back to where he though Serah was, and found Haruhi staring at her intensely. Serah looked ready to bolt at any second, and he would not be having any of that. “Haruhi! Do not frighten our poor, shy guest. You know the rules.”

“Yeah, I sure do senpai. But oh well.” Haruhi shrugged, and threw a glance back at Serah as she slipped behind one of the many columns in the room.

“That was Haruhi, I assume?” Serah said quietly, looking away from everyone except Tamaki. She seemed to hold on to his presence like a floatation device in a stormy sea.

“It was. But on an unrelated note, I have something to show you my darling Serah. I do hope you like what I show you.” He took her hand and led her to a room slightly off the main one.

Inside, she saw the most beautiful, white-finished grand piano she had ever lain eyes on. Her expression became unfathomable quickly, and she stared agape for a while.

“I have something to play, darling.” Tamaki kissed her hand gently, and walked quietly to the bench of the piano. Before she really realized it, an amazing, silky melody was flowing through the room.

Man, this boy could play piano. Serah decided to take advantage of this. She went up and slid in carefully next to him, falling into perfect harmony with his notes and the familiar song.

“This was the best way for me to let you know me, Serah.” He whispered, barely audible over the notes from their piano playing. “Through my music.”

“This song. I know it well, although I cannot remember the name of it. I’ve learned it since I was very small...” Serah trailed off, getting lost in Tamaki’s shimmery eyes. He placed a light kiss on the tip of her nose, and her cheek.

“’Nothing Less’ is the title, Serah. And my adaptation of it, is set as a love song. So, I have a question.” Serah looked at him curiously as he twiddled his thumbs.

“Will you come with me, and work with me, and possibly fall for me, with Nothing Less than a Love Song?”

She nodded, chokingly. She hadn’t been so happy, for a long long while.
