Wendy didn't know how long she was locked up in that cage. It seemed like weeks had gone by and she felt like her mouth might dry up completely if she didn't have any water soon. She had thought about ways over and over to escape but knew she couldn't prove to Pan that she had these great powers. She didn't understand why he thought she had magic. Wendy had never even believed magic truly existed till she arrived at Neverland. When she first saw the shadow and saw Pan use his powers on the other boys, she was sure she was dreaming. She could not believe that a place like this existed. It seemed like a place that would be in one of her old storybooks. She regretted ever letting the shadow bring her here. Why would he bring her to a place to where she was even more of a prisoner than when she lived with the Becketts? He had to know something, but how could she get in contact with him?

"Wendy!"

Wendy looked down to the ground to see who yelled her name, annoyed to find the voice belonged to Pan. He had come every day, asking if she was ready to show her powers to him.

"For the last time, I told you I don't have any powers." Wendy weakly spoke.

"Suit yourself. You know I'm a very patient person, Wendy."

Wendy ignored him and tried to focus as she continued to think of an escape plan. She assumed he left when she didn't hear another snarky word come from below her.

How could an evil boy run an island with such beauty?

Pan was the most cruel person Wendy had ever laid eyes on. In a way, she was happy she was locked away in her cage because she didn't have to see him around the island. He struck fear in her, but was not afraid to stick up to him when she knew he was wrong. She knew he was capable of anything, but she just didn't care. She saw that her life was over. There was no way she could convince Pan she had powers, and, since he thought she was lying, she knew he had the power to kill her. So, Wendy had accepted her fate. She knew there was nothing else she could do, and that nothing could save her now. She pulled her legs to her chest and rested her head on her knees. As tears began forming in her eyes, she thought of her brothers. How they would play together in their nursery and play pirates with wire hangers. Wendy smiled as she shut her eyes and imagined she was still in London, laying in her bed with her brothers in the beds next to her, quietly snoring.

"Excuse me, Miss?"

Wendy eyes shot open as he raised her head. Her eyes met a small glowing ball of green light that was floating outside her cage. She rubbed her eyes and blinked a couple times, questioning if she was hallucinating from the lack of food in her stomach or if it was a dream.

"Miss?" the ball of light asked again.

"Hello?" Wendy hesitantly responded.

"Who locked you up here?" The sweet voice asked.

"It was Pan." Wendy responded with disgust.

The ball of light didn't respond as it continued floating by her.

"What is your name, Miss?"

"My name is Wendy." She responded. "Please help me escape him."

"Oh, Wendy! We've been waiting for you!"

"I'm sorry? What do you mean?"

"No time to explain now." The light said as Wendy's cage door suddenly opened, "Hurry, Wendy. I'll take you somewhere you will be safe."

"What are you?" Wendy asked.

"It's hard to explain right now. Just come with me! Hurry!"

"What's your name?"

"My name is Tinkerbell."

Pan paced in his tent as the boys were dancing by the fire, like they did every night. He could not stop thinking about this Wendy girl. He didn't understand how this person could stick up to him like this and disrespect him. He didn't like not getting his own way, and Wendy was not giving up something he wanted.

He wanted her magic.

Pan never sensed any magic in her, but if the shadow was certain, he had to get control of it. If her magic was so powerful that even Pan couldn't sense it, he needed her to be under his control. The thought of someone being more powerful than him infuriated him. He was always known as the most powerful force to be reckoned with on Neverland, and no silly English girl was going to steal that from him.

"Pan."

Felix interrupted Pan's frustrated thoughts as he walked into Pan's tent.

"What is it, Felix?"

"The boys want to have a word with you."

Pan looked up, confused. "I'm sorry?"

"It's about her."

Pan felt his face getting red with anger as he stormed past Felix outside his tent to where his Lost Boys were.

"Well, boys." Pan stood in front of them, "What do you want?"

They all nervously looked to each other and then everyone looked to Timothy who was locking eyes with Pan. Timothy stood up and took a deep breath.

"We want Wendy to be freed."

"And where do you think you have a say in this?" Pan scoffed.

"Because she has done no wrong. You were always the one who said that no one will be wrongly punished and locked away."

"She has done wrong."

"What wrong has she done?" Daniel asked.

"That's none of your concern."

"I bet Felix knows." Evan said as he motioned to Felix.

Felix stayed silent.

"Yea, I bet he does." Ryan stated.

"I thought we were family, Pan. Why are you keeping things from us?" Liam said.

"Alright." Pan frustratingly yelled, "Fine. I'll play along. What do you think should be done with her then?"

The boys paused and looked to Timothy again.

"Well first," Timothy said, "You must explain to us what a mother is."

Pan eyes showed panic for a second then he remained calm. He had forgotten that Wendy had brought up the word mother so of course the boys would ask sooner or later.

Pan sighed, "A mother is someone who looks after her family. She is the person who anyone can go to if something is wrong and she is caring and loving and-"

Pan stopped himself as memories of his past crept up on him. The boys looked at him with confusion. Pan coughed and composed himself.

"What does this have to do with Wendy?"

"We want her to be our mother."

Pan laughed as he looked to each of the boys. "That's not going to happen."

"It's not right to keep her up there in that cage without a thing to eat or drink." Timothy boomed.

"Timothy, I should rip your tongue out for turning against me and questioning my decisions to protect us."

"She's not dangerous!"

"Alright, fine!" Pan screamed and looked to each of the boys, "You all want to make decisions for yourselves and not listen to the one who saved you all? Fine, then  we'll have a vote! Who thinks that Wendy should be your 'mother'? Raise your hands!"

All the boys raised their hands except George who got death glares from everyone.

"This is ridiculous." Pan said as he turned from the boys and covered his hand over his forehead.

"Pan, this could actually be a good plan." Felix whispered to him.

"I'm listening." Pan stated.

"If we make her feel comfortable enough, make her feel like she actually belongs and earn her trust, she may reveal her true powers to us."

Pan hesitated and thought over Felix's idea, "Felix, you're a genius."

Pan turned back to the boys with a smile on his face.

"Alright, boys. You want a mother? She can be your new mother."

The boys cheered and pushed each other around laughing.

"But," Pan sternly said, "If you ever try and go against me again, I will shove you all in that tiny cage myself."

They all got panicked looks on their faces as they stayed quiet.

"You boys go set up a tent for her. I'll go get her down."

"I'll come with you." Felix stated.

Felix and Pan started their walk to the cages where Wendy had been locked up for a while.

"Pan, you do know how you can tell if she truly does have power?"

"Of course I do, Felix" Pan said annoyed.

"I don't know why we didn't think of it sooner."

"The Caves of the All-Knowing are dangerous. It's easily to lose your mind there, and no one is allowed to go there don't forget."

"So you have a plan in mind then?"

"I'll gain her trust. And, as soon as she has put her full trust in me, I will take her to the caves to find out who she truly is."

"You're always one step ahead, Pan."

"I will control this girl no matter what. Her power has to be of something great."

The boys continued to walk through the forest, excited for their plan to go through in their favor. As they approached the cages, the sight in front of them sent them in such a shock that Pan had used his magic to knock a tree down.

Wendy's cage was on the ground in pieces and remnants of green magic were left around what was left of the cage.

Wendy had escaped.
