It took years to finally get back to where we all settled down and things were becoming the way it was before. Since now the men were back home, they eventually replaced the women workers. There was no need for rationing anymore. But at least the men were back at home and safe. But it was sad to see the families with people who didn't come back home. Everyone at least knew one person that didn't make it. So many people had died, it was difficult to keep track. It was difficult getting out of that depressing time, but after a few years we moved on with our lives. Like I mentioned before; time doesn't stop for anyone, and you have to move past those difficult times. "Hopefully we learn from that part of our history, and that it will never happen again."
