We tried to sneak in to the apartment, but of course with four boys and a girl on the other side of the doors, the chances were slim to none. It was midnight so that gave some hope, at least Gabby and Lou would have turned in, but for the rest it was unknown.
We did manage to sneak into the living room, pausing only for a moment to say goodnight. Niall turned back to his door, but turned back around to say something. “Do you…” I smiled, knowing exactly what he meant. I always did sleep better in his arms.
“No.” I shook my head. He frowned.
“You don’t trust me?” he asked quietly, looking sad. Unable to handle a second of he being anything but ecstatic, I rushed into his arms.
“It’s not you I don’t trust…” I giggled into his chest and looked up to give him a quick peck. This caused him to laugh too and soon it was hard to keep the noise down.
“Niall and Vera are back!” shouted a voice behind door number one. Within seconds the room was filled, everyone rushing to us to envelop us in a group hug.
“NIALL CONGRATS LAD!” Liam shouted into my ear, causing me to wince. Niall saw and pulled me into his arms, becoming super possessive.
“Let’s back it up a’right?” he asked, moving us both to the couch, where we cuddled. Now that we were together, I had no notion to let go of his hand or even leave his side. This could be a problem in the future. But for now I wasn’t planning on changing it, only for sleep.
Each boy sat down on the floor in front of us, eyes glowing and the biggest grins ever on their faces. “you’re dating now, aren’t you?” Zayn asked. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
“No this is a booty call. What do you think Footie?” I whined, causing the boys to laugh.
“Well then, I’ll just sleep in your room, you and Niall would like some privacy yes?” grinned Liam, being excessively cheeky for himself. Liam was one of those who were super nice and quiet during the day and a complete hellion at night.
“No, Liam we’re good. Everyone is going to sleep in their respective rooms. Speaking of, I’m exhausted. I’m gonna head off to bed kay?” the boys frowned, but nodded. My guess is that they were planning on keeping me up all night with questions and such. Releasing myself from Niall’s arms, I turned around to give him another kiss. “Love you.” I whispered as his face crinkled into a smile. After what he told me, I bet he’d been waiting for me to say that for a while. The same with me. my heart soared as he repeated the words.
Once in my own room, I sighed. I was dating Niall Horan. I was the girlfriend of a mega singer. But it didn’t feel like that. I felt like I was dating Ni-Bear, the one boy who ever treated me right and whom I loved unconditionally. The boy who made me smile just by existing. It was like that boy and the pop star were two different people. I slipped into my pjs and pulled out my song book. This night was a night to remember in lyrics.
My eyelids fluttered open and the sun shone through my window, making me smile. It was so perfect, especially since my boyfriend was sitting in the window. What was that he was holding? As I questioned him silently, he turned to notice me stirring. “Morning baby. I love these songs!” He had my book?! I sat up quickly.
“You’re reading my songbook?” I gasped. I had never once let anyone, and I mean anyone, read my songs. I’d never even sang one for someone else. It was one thing I was super self-conscious about.
“It was sitting right on the floor; I didn’t think you’d mind. I’m sorry baby…” he pouted and got up to slide in next to me. I sighed and burrowed my face into his chest, feeling all types of comfy. He snuggled me closer and kissed the top of my head.
“It’s okay… ish. I just have never let someone read my lyrics. I don’t really know why… I guess I just didn’t think they were good enough.”
“But they are good! They’re amazing! You should come with us and rehearse! Why don’t you sign with your dad?” he questioned.
“I wanted to sign when I was ready and because I was good enough, I didn’t want to take the easy way and sign with daddy because he was my dad. No one would take me seriously.”
“Well then…. How about we make them take you seriously?” Niall had an impish grin on his face. I sighed and rolled over, placing a pillow over my head and cuddling my blanket even more.
“That would involve getting up.” I mumbled into the pillow. Niall would have none of that. gripping the pillow with one hand and the blanket with another, they were suddenly ripped from my grasp, causing my entire body to shiver with the abrupt climate change.
“You get up right now Vera! We’ve places to be, things to do, songs to sing!” Niall ordered, trying vehemently to be scary and demanding, although it just made him cuter and more huggable.
“Honey, we’ve got to work on your approach there… you’re about as scary as a baby penguin.” I laughed an held out my hands to let him help me up. He wrapped his arms around my waist and flipped me so he was carrying me bridal style out of the room.
“Damn, everyone thinks I’m a baby penguin… is it the hair?” he grumbled carrying me into the kitchen and setting me on the table while he ransacked the fridge. Again. Seriously, I was gonna have to cook for an army now that I had to feed my man. I grinned at the thought. Niall was turning me into one of those doting girlfriends that Gabby and I had always laughed at. And strangely, I was okay with that.
Sighing as Niall moved various things around in the fridge, most looking for something that wouldn’t have to be cooked; I jumped down off the table and pushed him aside, grabbing the eggs, bread and butter in one fluid motion. Then I grabbed a pan out of the cupboard and turned up the burner so I could get started. Niall took my place on the counter, stealing a piece of bread and munching on it as he stared at me. “So what’s this master plan of yours to get me noticed?” I asked, cracking two eggs in one hand. I had the right to know before he did something super crazy.
“Well,” He started in between bites. “I’ll have to talk to the lads of course, but I thought we could have you do a song with us for the new album. It can either be one of yours or ours or OH!” He shouted and jumped off the counter to wrap himself around me. “We could write one together! Wouldn’t that be amazing?” He sounded so excited I laughed, turning my head to the side to kiss his cheek. Of course, that wasn’t enough for the boy, so he turned his head more so we could kiss properly.
“Stop sexualizing in the kitchen please. I’d like to eat breakfast in peace!” Lou walked in rubbing his eyes. Niall’s hand moved from my waist and shot him a finger, causing me to laugh against his lips, causing him to chuckle back. “Testy aren’t we?” Louis scowled and plopped down on the couch, turning on the tv and scratching his stomach like a middle aged unemployed drunk.
“What the hell is going on here?!” Shit. I quickly pulled out of Niall’s grasp and held up a plate to protect myself from the projectile Gabby was bound to throw at me. I didn’t inform her of my new relationship status and that was not good. I was right, seconds later a pillow bounced off the back of Niall’s head.
“OY! What the hell did I do?” He shouted at the crazy woman in our doorway, wielding yet another pillow and giving me the evilest death glare I’d ever seen.
“You sexualized my friend. Vera. Room. Now!” She stalked back into her room cursing Spanish vocab at me. I really didn’t want to go in there, but the consequences would be worse if I didn’t.
I turned to Niall and gave him a weak smile. “Why is it that everyone thinks we’re having sex? It hasn’t been twenty four hours yet!” I kissed him quickly on the lips and then on the back of the head where the pillow had hit him, handing him the spatula. “Flip the eggs when they’re ready then butter four pieces of bread and fry them as well. I should be back soon, but if not, do not eat my sandwich.”
He kissed my forehead. “No promises.” That boy I swear. Taking a breath, I slowly moved towards the other room, still holding the plate in case the Latina got any crazy ideas.
“Vera. So nice to see you. Come on in… have a seat. Shut the door.” The blinds were closed and the room was dark, adding to my initial fears. Gabby was perched in the middle of her and Lou’s bed, a too fake smile plastered on her face.
“Uh. I’d rather not.” I was seriously afraid she’d kill me for not telling her.
“I promise not to kill you. It’s not my place. I would just like to talk. Girl to girl.” She shifted and dropped the fake smile, looking more normal. I relaxed a bit.
“Fine. But I’m turning on that light. And opening the blinds.” I did as I’d warned and except for a little squinting at the sudden light, Gabby did nothing.
“Alright. Now tell me exactly what happened. From when you left my sights to five seconds ago.” As I recounted my story we once again slipped into infamous girl time. I’m surprised we didn’t go all Summer Lovin’ on it. Sure I grinned like an idiot and we both squealed numerous times, but there were no Broadway worthy songs. I moved to the bed with her and we practically broke the bed with all our jumping and dancing.
“So you two are together! Yay! We can double date, and… well I guess we double date already, except it includes three other boys… can we get rid of those?” Gabby was back to her regular self, now in the element of female. I laughed as she calculated how to dump Harry, Zayn and Liam.
“No, we are not going to ‘get rid of’ Harry Bun, Footie and Cuddle Bug.” I shook my messy head at Gabby’s pouting face. “We’d kill each other. Besides, who’d give us foot rubs and make us laugh and be Daddy Direction?” Gabby sighed at my valid points.
“Okay. We won’t get rid of them. But we’re gonna have to have some serious date nights… you know, without the third, fourth and fifth wheels.”
“I promise to double with you soon. Now we gotta get back out there… I fear that boyfriend of mine had eaten my breakfast!”
