While we were driving, my Dad placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Listen Hazel, I Know Its-"
"Don't touch me! Don't talk to me. I want this ride to be quiet. I don't want to hear anything. Especially from you." I said angrily.
We arrivied at my house, about an hour and a half later.
I quickly got out of the car and ran towards the front door.
"Hazel!" My Dad called out behind me.
"What?" I said rolling my eyes. "I have something for you."
He showed me a locket. The outside was engraved :
D+D
Which I assumed meant "Dad+Daughter".
The inside had a picture I'd taken with him when I was a child.
"Happy Birthday. And, I'm sorry." He.said after handing me the gift.
"Get out of the car Dad." I said.
"What?" He asked. "Please Dad, get out of the car." I said, holding back tears.
He turned off the engine, and got out. As he walked towards me, I ran to him.
I gave him a big hug and whispered in his ear "Yes."
"Yes what?" He asked confusingly.
"Yes,I'll move in with you and Suzie." I say. Tears streaming down my face.
I have to admit, I was still pretty upset that he didn't tell me before now...
But when do you have an open opportunity to move to Seattle?
I'd love to wake up every morning, and see my Dad.
It would honestly be a dream come true.
"We leave tonight Hazel. Are you going to be packed and ready by then?"
The amount of clothes I have? Probably not.
"Yeah, I'll pack super fast!"
"Alright,I'll see you around 8 tonight."
"Great! See you then!" I replied.
Wow. Seattle? Pretty far. But it was so worth it.
