Hey Everyone, this is a poem that i had to write for a creative writing class that i took this year. i know i'm not the best writer so comments will help me a lot. my teacher liked it so much that she sent it into a writing contest. so i hope you like it.

Poetry is like reading a book
It can take you to a world beyond your imagination
It can create a world where everything is perfect.
Poetry is like dancing
It leaps and twirls yet it can tell a story
The farther along in the story you get the more complex it becomes.
Poetry is like singing
It can take you away from the worries of this world
With each note you float farther and farther away.
Poetry is like waking up every morning to the sunrise
Knowing that it’s a new day and that you could do something great
That you could possible change the world someday.
Poetry is looking at the world through new eyes
Seeing things differently than you did before
Changing the way you think about things.
Poetry comes from within
It’s what you feel inside
It’s a way to be who you are
Without anybody telling you, you need to be somebody else.
