Have you ever had those moments where you see a really cute guy and your brain turns to complete mush? Yeah well that's basically how I felt right then except multiplied by about ten because that's just how hot this guy was. He had messy dark brown-black hair and piercing ice blue eyes that seemed to be trying to contain amusement. Seriously, being that hot should be like illegal or something.
Apparently I had been staring for way too long because when his voice finally snapped me out of my daze, I realized both my uncle and Richard were gone. "Enjoying the view?" Was what brought me out of my coma and I narrowed my eyes, so he was one of them. One of those egotistical bastards that think they're God or something. Yup, hotness factor has just decreased ten-fold.
I rolled my eyes and tried to play of my staring and picked up my bags, "No, it's just I've never seen a person that held such an uncanny resemblance to someone I know?"
Lucas smiled and leaned against the truck, "I have been compared to some celebrities before." He said, winking at me and I just laughed dryly at his statement.
"I was actually going to say my great Aunt Imogene, but whatever helps you sleep at night." I said, lying through my teeth. I gave his shoulder a mock sympathetic pat before walking past him and onto the porch. I couldn'y help but wince at my reply to him, it sucked and I knew it. I didn't have anytime to think of anything witty and that slipped out, I need to work on that.
As soon as I walked through the door I couldn't help but be wrapped in the warmth of the interior of the house. The house had always been like that, it wasn't huge but it was cozy and felt like home so I didn't care. I guessed that I'd be staying in the guestroom I had always slept in when we visited, now it was just a matter of remembering where that was.
I slowly trudged down the hall, glancing at each of the three doors that led into different curiously and opening each one. Finally, after checking two of the doors, I opened the third to find my room. I tossed my stuff on the bed and wondered if Lucas was actually going to bring me my bags, I doubted it.
I was correct because when I walked back outside, my bags were sitting there in the dirt, Lucas nowhere to be seen.
Jerk.
I rolled my eyes and heaved the last two bags inside the house and to my room.
I had barely begun to unpack when suddenly I was being tackled into a hug. I caught a glimpse of red hair and was trying my best to keep from screaming.
Suddenly I was free from the death grip and there in front of me stood a girl. She was probably about my age, with long strawberry blonde hair. I was still shaken from her assault but she just smiled at me like everything was perfectly normal, which it was not. What is normal about a stranger bursting into your new room and hugging you?!
She then seemed to take into account that I was basically in shock and she smiled apologetically, "Whoops, didn't mean to scare you. I was just really excited," she said sheepishly.
"You don't say," I murmured quietly, finally able to calm my heart rate.
"You probably think I'm crazy now, right? I swear to you I'm not, it's just that your Uncle said you were here and I was just really excited to meet you. I'm kind of a hugger," she said with a small shrug and a timid smile.
"Well, okay then, but it'd really help if I knew who you were," I suggested, taking a seat on my bed as I looked at her. She was shorter than I was and she had this bubbly kind of look to match her personality.
"Oh yeah, I'm Jessica but you can call me Jess," she explained, "I live on one of the neighboring farms, we moved here a few years back." She seemed relieved that I was freaking about because of her surprise attack, or making her leave.
"Well then Jess, I'm Lilly if my uncle didn't already tell you and thanks for such a warm welcome," I said with a small chuckle. She seemed friendly and she probably knew her way around this place, I would need help, so why not have her help me out?
She smiled broadly and then she raced forward and hugged me, again. "It's so nice to meet you, your uncle talks about you all the time!" She said happily.
I chuckled uneasily, I was never a very touchy-feely kind of person and felt awkward, "Okay, we're going to really need to work on this whole hug thing if we're going to be hanging out together." I said and she pulled away with a sheepish smile, murmuring a "sorry".
"So do you need help unpacking?" She asked me curiously and I shook my head.
"I can do it later, but I would really love a tour of the town. I haven't been here in forever," I explained with a hopeful smile.
Jess’ smiled widened, "Of course! Come on," she shouted, grabbing ahold of my arm and practically dragging me outside to where an unfamiliar car was parked, I guessed it was Jess'. She confirmed my thought when she climbed in, motioning for me to do the same. I had barely gotten into the car when she took off.
After several minutes of driving I could see the town and I gave thanks, Jess was literally the worst driver ever. "Keep your eyes on the road!" I yelled at her for the fourth time and she spun her head just in time to see the person walking out in front of us. I let out a shriek and Jess slammed her foot on the break, and we were only a few inches from the person, now staring at us like a deer caught in headlights.
I looked at the person closer and rolled my eyes as I realized it was only Lucas, now I kind of wish Jess hadn't hit her brakes... People might say that I was being harsh, I mean I barely knew the guy, but I knew his type. It didn't take much to know he was one of those guys that knew he was good looking and used it to his advantage, he was cocky and thought the world revolved around him.
Lucas walked towards the driver's side and looked at Jess, "Damn woman, you need to learn to drive before you kill someone. Wouldn't want such a pretty girl to get hurt, now would we?" He asked her, winking as a smirk grew on his face.
Jess rolled her eyes, seeming annoyed by his presence, "Whatever Lucas, as much as I would love to continue talking with you, I hear stupid is contagious and I would hate to catch it from you." She muttered and was about to roll her window back up, he caught sight of me.
"Lilly! Fancy meeting you again," he said with a grin.
"Auntie Imogene! It's great to see you!" I said with mock excitement before deadpanning and simply saying, "Get lost Lucas."
Jess chuckled, seeming slightly confused on my comment, but she rolled up her window and took off at a deadly speed, leaving Lucas in our dust. I didn't care though, I'd take Jess' awful driving over that boy any day.
She then pulled into what looked like a small diner, "I told a few friends that I was bringing you into town and they said that I had to bring you here to meet them. If you don't want to though-"
I immediately cut her off, "No, it's fine, I should get to know more people in this town anyways." I said and she beamed, climbing out of her car and leading me inside. I was caught by the warm air that greatly contrasted to the cold October air.
Jess scanned the room and then someone shouted, "Over here Jess! Over here!" I turned my head to see a very excited boy jumping up and down very ridiculously. I squinted my eyes a bit and was taken aback by who I saw.
"Evan sit down! You look like a freak!" A blonde said next to him, pulling the familiar brunette boy down and back into his seat.
I laughed and then looked at Jess, "You're friends with Evan?"
"Yeah, do you know him?" She asked me curiously.
"Kinda, he sat next to me on the plane ride here," I exclaimed as we made our way over to the group of people.
She nodded in understanding, but when we finally reached them, I was immediately engulfed in a hug, what was with these people and hugs?!
"Lilly!" Evan yelled as he let go of me, "How's it going?" He asked, grinning at me with a cheshire like grin.
I chuckled, "Hi Evan, wasn't expecting to see you so soon." I commented and he let out a deep chuckle but then the blonde peaked from behind them.
"Hey there, I'm Brett," she said quietly, giving me a soft smile. I waved at her slightly but then spotted a figure I had missed before. It was a guy and he was quite the looker himself. I have come to the conclusion that everybody in Summersville is hot, I wonder if you stayed here long enough you would become hot. This boy had sandy blonde hair and dark blue eyes with a charming smile. He wasn't as hot as Lucas but he was close, Ew did I just call that idiot hot? Gross.
The boy flashed me a smile and got to his feet, "It's nice to meet you, the name’s Nate." He said, his voice deeper than I was expecting. I smiled softly and gripped the hand he was holding out to me, he held on for a moment longer than need and I felt my stomach flip slightly.
The moment didn't last though, Jess broke it almost immediately, "Well Lilly, this is the gang!" She said, grinning like a madman. I couldn't help but notice how alike she and Evan were, way too hyper for their own good. Brett seemed like the more timid one and Nate was quite the gentlemen. They were all so different yet they seemed to fit together perfectly, I was almost afraid to mess up their already perfect group. I didn't want to just barge in. However, they seemed to open me with welcome arms and I already felt like I was in a family.
Maybe Montana won't be so bad after all.

So, what do y'all think so far of Lucas, and the story so far? What about Jess, Brett, and Nate? And hey, Evan is back! This story was really one for introductions of some key characters.
