Nyesha's POV
Ever since I had that dream I stayed away from Jordan. He texted, called, skyped, instagramed and even came over to Dustin's house to see if I was there. I kinda feel bad for cutting him off but it's for the best, if I wanna stay safe I'm gonna have to be far away from him. Ever since I stayed away from Jordan, me and Dustin's relationship has been amazing. Everyone's talking about how we kiss to much but whatever. His hoes at school have been giving me looks but I really don't care and my basketball skills have improved by 15%, so im really excited for the Championship game in June.
3 Months Later~ (March~Friday)
I got my house back and i was so excited . Dustin was kinda sad that i had to go back home but it had to happen sometime. So far me and Dustin's relationship has been amazing. Every morning I have a "Good morning beautiful" text and every night I have a "Good Night babe, think of me :)" text. Its kinda like were not dating which is one of the things I really love because I didn't want it to be awkward. I really think I'm falling for Dustin hard and i may just tell him I'm in love with him.But anyways back to today, Today was the day i met Jacob Latimore and he was soooooooooo damn fine but since Dustin didnt trust me he came with me to meet him. After we met him we got ready for the trail and Dustin was super nervous.
Me: Dustin, stop pacing up and down
Dustin: sorry Nye its just that I really nervous, I could go to jail
Me: Dustin your not going to jail, because you didn't do anything wrong and your gonna win this case then were gonna get me a burger
Dustin: Thanks for the support babe
At the Courtroom
When we got there Dustin was starting to look pale so I squeezed his hand for reassurance that it was gonna be okay.
Bailiff: All rise. (Wait for everyone-except the judge- to stand) Department One of the Superior Court is now in session. Judge Singh presiding. Please be seated.
Judge: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Calling the case of the People of the State of Canada versus Dustin Watts, Tyronne Jenkins and.... Janessa your back again
Janessa: this time it wasn't my fault
Judge: Are both sides ready?
District Attorney: Ready for the People, Your Honour.
Public Defender: Ready for the defense, Your Honour
Judge: Will the clerk please swear in the jury?
Clerk: Will the jury please stand and raise your right hand? (Wait for everyone to stand).Do each of you swear that you will fairly try the case before this court, and that you will return a true verdict according to the evidence and the instructions of the court, so help you, God? Please say "I do". [Wait for jurors to say "I do."] You may be seated
Deputy DA: [Stand up and talk to the jury.] Your Honor and ladies and gentlemen of the jury: the defendant has been charged with the crime of having an unlicensed gun in possession, Possession of firearm with intent to endanger life and on that same night resisting arrest. The evidence will show that these three people came to an abandon building were my clients were working and shot innocent people. The defendant's fingerprints were on the guns left behind. The evidence I present will prove to you that the defendant is guilty as charged.
Public Defender: [Stand up and talk to the jury.] Your Honor and ladies and gentlemen of the jury: under the law my client is presumed innocent until proven guilty. During this trial, you will hear no real evidence against my client. You will come to know the truth: that Dustin watts, Tyronne and Janessa Jenkins did in fact have a valuable reason to have licensed guns on them and the people who were shot were in fact not innocent at all. Dustin, Tyronne and Janessa were just trying to do the right thing by helping out a person in need. Therefore my client is not guilty.
Judge: The prosecution may call its first witness.
Deputy DA: The People calls one of the eye witnesses [Bailiff takes the witness to the witness stand.]
When I see Jordan walk up to the stand, I wanna go up there and beat the hell outta him and I guess Jada got that because she grabbed my hand a squeezed it to tell me it was okay. I just hope she's right.
Clerk: Please stand. Raise your right hand. Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in the case before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Jordan: I do.
Clerk: Please state your first and last name.
Jordan: Jordan Wesley
Clerk: You may be seated.
Reporter: Please spell your last name for the record.
Jordan: W-E-S-L-E-Y
Deputy DA: [Stand up.] Jordan, why were you at the abandon building?
Jordan: I was helping my boss with some business
Deputy DA: What is the address of this building?
Jordan: ## ___________ street
Deputy DA: So where were you when the shoot out happened
Jordan: I was handling some personal (Looks at Nyesha) business for my boss
Deputy DA: No further questions
Judge: Does the defense have any questions
Public Defender: Not at this time, Your Honor.
Judge: The witness is excused. [Wait for the witness to leave the stand.] The prosecution may call the next witness.
Deputy DA: The People call the arresting officer. [Bailiff takes the witness to the witness stand.]
Clerk: Please stand. Raise your right hand. Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in the case before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Officer: I do.
Clerk: Please state your first and last name.
Officer: James Lee
Clerk: You may be seated.
Reporter: Please spell your last name for the record.

Deputy DA: [Stand up.] Officer, where do you work?
Officer: I have worked for the Canada Highway Patrol for the past ten years.
Deputy DA: Were you on duty on the night of September 10th?
Officers: Yes. I was patrolling the freeway between _____ and _______
Deputy DA: Did you observe a black 2011 Land Rover LR4 that night?
Officer: Yes, I did.
Deputy DA: What was the license number?
Officer: ___________.
Deputy DA: Where did you first see the car?
Officer: Going north, near the McDonald's on _________
Deputy DA: Why did you notice the car?
Officer: It was speeding
Deputy DA: Did you stop the Land Rover
Officer: Yes. I turned on my lights and siren and pulled the car over.
Deputy DA: Where did you stop the car?
Officer: right in front of the McDonald's
Deputy DA: What did you do after the car stopped?
Officer: I ordered the driver to step out and he resisted
Deputy DA: Do you see the driver here in court?
Officer: Yes, the record will show that the witness has identified the defendant sitting at the defense table [Point to defendant.]
Deputy DA: After the defendant resisted what did he tell you
Officer: He said that he saving a life then he took off down the road
Deputy DA: I have no further questions.
Judge: Does the defense wish to ask any questions?
Public Defender: [Stand up.] Yes, Your Honor.
Public Defender: Officer, when you pulled the car over, you ordered my client to step out, didn't you?
Officer: Yes, I did.
Public Defender: and he told you he was going to save a life
Officer: Yes.
Public Defender: did you follow my client down the road when get drove off
Officer: um no
Public Defender: and why not?
Officer: well um.....I um..... Well.....
Public Defender: no further questions, your honour
Judge: The witness is excused. [Wait for the witness to leave the stand.] Does the prosecution have any other witnesses?
Deputy DA: Yes, Your Honor. The People call the fingerprint examiner.[Bailiff takes the witness to the witness stand.]
Clerk: Please stand. Raise your right hand. Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in the case now before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Expert: I do.
Clerk: Please state your first and last name.
Expert: David Carlson
Clerk: You may be seated.
Reporter: Please spell your last name for the record.
Expert: C-A-R-L-S-O-N
Deputy DA: [Stand up.] David, where do you work?
Expert: I am employed by the Canadian Sheriff's Department. I have been a qualified fingerprint examiner for 15 years.
Deputy DA: [Takes Gun to the witness stand and show witness the gun.] Have you ever seen this gun before?
Expert: [Look at gun.] Yes. I was asked to check them for fingerprints at my lab.
Deputy DA: Did you find any fingerprints on the keys as a result of your testing?
Expert: Yes. There were several clear print impressions.
Deputy DA: Were you able to identify the defendant's prints on the Gun?
Expert: Yes. The prints I found on two of the guns were identical to the fingerprints taken from the defendant.
Deputy DA: Thank you. I have no further questions and no other witnesses, Your Honor.
Judge: Does the defense have any questions?
Public Defender: [Stand up.] Yes, Your Honour. David, as a matter of fact, you also found fingerprints on the guns which did not belong to the defendant, didn't you?
Expert: That is correct.
Public Defender: To whom do they belong?
Expert: well.... I don't know
Public Defender: Thank you. I have no further questions.
Judge: The witness is excused. [Wait for the witness to leave the stand.]
Deputy DA: Your Honor, the People rest their case.
Judge: Is the defense ready with its case?
Public Defender: Yes, Your Honor. I call the first defendant. [Bailiff takes dustin to the witness stand.]
Clerk: Please stand. Raise your right hand. Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in the case now before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Dustin: I do.
Clerk: Please state your name.
Dustin: Dustin Watts
Clerk: You may be seated.
Reporter: Please spell your last name for the record.
Dustin: W-A-T-T-S
Public Defender: Dustin, you were in the Land Rover when the car got pulled over, correct?
Dustin: yes
Public Defender: And what did the officer say to you
Dustin: He told us to pull over so he could give us a ticket
Public Defender: So he wanted to give you a ticket?
Dustin: yup
Public Defender: thank you, no further questions or witnesses your honour
Judge: I call a 15 minute recess
Dustin's POV
I left my seat and walked up behind Nyesha wrapping my arms around her. At first she was tense then she relaxed
Nyesha: Hey Dustin
Me: Hey
Nyesha: your doing great out there
Me: well i wouldn't be able to do it without you encouraging me
Nyesha: i'm pretty sure you could
Me: I'll be right back
I walked over to our lawyer (Public Defender) and he was on the phone.
Lawyer: I'm in court though....Linda listen..i know i cant miss it...Ok ok I'm on my way (Hangs up)
Me: whats going on?
Lawyer: my wife is in labour, i need to go
Me: what about my case?
Lawyer: i really wish i could help you but i cant miss my baby girl's birth
Me: your right..... Tell your wife i said Congrats on the new baby
Lawyer: i will
He packs up the rest of his things in to his brief case before running out of the courtroom. Nyesha comes over to me with a worried look on her face
Nyesha: babe what's going on, why is the lawyer leaving?
Me: his wife is about to have a baby
Nyesha: can't she wait
Me: NYESHA
Nyesha: I'm just kidding, so what are you gonna do?
Me: well I don't know
Diamond, Chase, Nia, Sam, Cece and Nathan walk in and when they see us they walk over.
Diamond: so.... Did we miss the trail?
Nyesha: nah were just on break
Me: but I do have a problem, I don't have a lawyer
Cece: what happened to the one you hired?
Nyesha: baby mama bout to have the baby
Chase: oh... Well, good luck
Judge: everyone take your seats the trail is back in session
Saying bye to everyone I went back into my seat between Tyronne and Janessa and waited for the trail to begin
Judge: I don't see a lawyer for the public defender
Me: well you see our law---
Nyesha: is right here
Nyesha walks to the seat where the previous lawyer was sitting and pulls out a book out of her bag
Me: Nyesha what is that and what are you doing?
Nyesha: I was taking notes on the other lawyers points and I'm saving your butt
Judge: young lady we don't have time to play games
Nyesha: who's playing games?
Judge: This paper clearly states that you will have ONE lawyer not two
Nyesha: but your honour as you can see there is only one of me defending my clients and because of personal issues the other lawyer couldn't be here so yes there is only one lawyer
Deputy DA: your honour this child is making a mockery of this courtroom
Nyesha: Excuse me if I'm wrong but were in the law does it say that an 18 year old which is a young adult NOT child cannot participate as a lawyer
Deputy DA: it doesn't b--
Nyesha: exactly your honour it doesn't which is why I don't see the problem and since I'm only a child this trail could be over in twenty minutes tops
Judge: I will allow it
Nyesha: thank you your honour you won't be disappointed
Judge: I'll give you a minute to get organized
Diamond: Wait Nyesha is gonna be the lawyer... Chase go get your video camera and I'm gonna get some popcorn, this is about to be the funniest trail ever. And if we put it on youtube she could go viral, she'll be bigger than that bus driver that threw the girl off the bus
Chase: And the sharkiesha dance
Diamond and Chase run out of the courtroom and I laugh. Those two really do belong together. I watch as Nyesha gathers her notes together and smile, Lawyer Nyesha Jenkins. Diamond and Chase finally come back and take there seats front row so they can see everything on the video camera.
Judge: is the Deputy DA ready?
Deputy DA: ready when you are your honour
Judge: is the public defence ready?
Nyesha: yes your honour
Judge: Public defence you may call your first witness
Nyesha: I call Tyronne Jenkins to the stand
Tyronne walks to the stand and sits at the podium
Clerk: Please stand. Raise your right hand. Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in the case before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Tyronne: I do
Clerk: Please state your first and last name.
Tyronne: Tyronne Jenkins
Clerk: You may be seated.
Reporter: Please spell your last name for the record.
Tyronne: J-E-N-K-I-N-S
Nyesha: Tyronne the defence said you had a weapon without a license is that true?
Tyronne: no, it isn't I have a gun license that doesn't expire till May 2018
Nyesha: do you have it with you?
Tyronne: yup (Hands her license)
Nyesha: Your Honor, I would like to have this license marked as public's exhibit number one and ask that they be admitted into evidence. (Give note to clerk who put a sticker on them and hand them back.)
Judge: Does the defence have any objection?
Deputy DA: No, Your Honor.
Judge: The note will be admitted as public exhibit number one.
Nyesha: So Tyronne you said you were gonna save a life what was that about?
Tyronne: well you see my little sister went upstairs to get a present for her best friend because she hid it. After about 10 minutes she never came back downstairs and we heard a sound. So me and Dustin watts went upstairs to investigate and in her room was a note
Nyesha: Do you have the note with you?
Tyronne: yes (Hands Nyesha the note)
Nyesha: Your Honor, I would like to have this note marked as public's exhibit number two and ask that they be admitted into evidence. (Give note to clerk who put a sticker on them and hand them back.)
Judge: Does the defence have any objection?
Deputy DA: No, Your Honor.
Judge: The note will be admitted as public exhibit number two.
Nyesha: Mr. Jenkins can I get you to read the note please
Tyronne: gladly, it says
To whom it may concern,
We have ________,
if you wanna see her again,
Meet us at torbram and steels closest to your house tomorrow
But we have 2 demands
1. Dump _____ (Dustin) so that she can go out with Jordan
2. Bring 1,900,000 dollars with you
Love rob wait no don't read that OK?
Nyesha: thank you your honour, I have no further questions
She goes back to her seat looking satisfied while the Deputy DA looks shocked. That's right my baby knows what she's doing.
Judge: Does the defense wish to ask any questions?
Deputy DA: (Stand up.) Yes, Your Honor.
The deputy walks over to Tyronne
Deputy DA: Tyronne tell your side of the story
Tyronne: (Gives a recap of what happened)
Deputy DA: So Tyronne you said they left a note why didn't you call the police?
Tyronne: you want me to call the police, the same police that tried to give me a ticket to save her life you wanted me to call
Deputy DA: one last question Mr.Jenkins where did you get the guns from?
Tyronne: I have 2 jobs I own a Shoe store in Alberta and I am a security guard. They gave me a few guns, Complements of the Security guard division.
Deputy DA: No further questions your honour
Judge: Next witness Public Defender?
Nyesha: Jordan Wesley
Jordan walks up to the stand and I look at Nyesha and her face stays neutral
Nyesha's POV
I can't believe Jordan really played me like that. I walked up to the stand and he looked in to my eyes and said "Nyesha I'm really sorry". Bull.
Nyesha: Mr. Wesley I would appreciate if you would speak unless spoken to
Clerk: Please stand. Raise your right hand. Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in the case before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Jordan: I do.
Nyesha: Mr. Wesley in your last statement you said that you were handling some "Business" for Mr. Watts's Father, correct?
Jordan: yes
Nyesha: what exactly were you doing?
Jordan: well...you see... Um....
Nyesha: And just for a reminder you are under oath
Jordan: I was holding someone hostage
(Crowd Gasps)
Nyesha: and why was this?
Jordan: because she belonged to me not that stupid Dustin
Nyesha: now Deputy DA did say innocent people were killed. What were they doing there at a kidnapping sense?
Jordan: They were in my gang
Nyesha: so they were In fact not innocent
Jordan: no
Nyesha: that's what I thought, now my client said they knocked you out were you completely knocked out?
Jordan: no I couldn't move but I saw everything
Nyesha: so when Rèquan Farrell untied the hostage what happened next?
Jordan: my boss was hiding in a corner so when he saw Rèquan, he showed himself and made Rèquan go to the other side of the room
Nyesha: what happened next?
Jordan: I.....um.....don't know..
Nyesha: JORDAN SAMUEL WESLEY, you are under oath.... What happened next?
Jordan: He pointed the gun at her head and as soon as he shot the bullet Dustin jumped in front of it
Nyesha: That's all your honour, the public rest there case
Judge: is there any more Input before we decide what the verdict?
Deputy DA: yes your honour, with this new found evidence I have one more witness
Judge: well continue
Deputy DA: thank you, your honour. I call ms. Nyesha Jenkins to the stand
Cece's POV
He did not. Nyesha calmly walks up to the stand and sits behind the podium. He did. This man really called up Nyesha.
Deputy DA: Ms. Jenkins it's nice to see you
Nyesha: I wish I could say the same
Chase: ooh burn
Deputy DA: I'm just gonna cut to the Chase, how did you know my client was lying?
Nyesha: all in the eyes and I was their I saw him watch the whole thing
Deputy DA: oh, you were there, well what were you doing there? Gang?, Stripper? Working?
Nyesha: None of the above, Actually, I was the one who got kidnapped
(Crowd Gasps)
Deputy DA: you were?
You could tell by his face that he actually had NO IDEA Nyesha was the one who got kidnapped
Nyesha: yup
Deputy DA: oh well you look fine
Nyesha: that's because my FAITHFUL boyfriend jumped in front of a bullet for me to save my life
Deputy DA: do you have any evidence that they kidnapped you,
Nyesha: actually, I do
Deputy DA: you do?
Nyesha: yeah, well you see Dustin's dad, never liked me so when they came to kidnap me he didn't wanna remember my face. So he got drunk. And when your drunk your not in your right mind. So they tied me up and right before we left the room he asked me if I wanted to take some photos. And judge how many times are you in a predicament like that were your allowed to take a selfie so obviously i jumped to the opportunity
Deputy DA: do you have the photos?
Nyesha: yup (pulls out her phone) this one is of me kicking Jordan because he tried to touch my boobs, this one is were I was tied up in the actual building, and this last one is were they rescued me and we were in the truck driving Dustin to the hospital
Deputy DA: no further questions, we rest our case
Nyesha walks back to her seat smiling proudly and Dustin gives her a kiss on the cheek. I swear these people kiss to damn much. I felt an arm wrap around my waist an when I looked up my boyfriend of 5 months was looking at me
Me: Nathan why is your arm around me?
Nathan: because I love you
Me: Awe I love you to boo
I put my head back on his shoulder and get comfortable
Judge: Are you ready with final arguments?
Deputy DA: Yes, Your Honor.
Nyesha: Yes, Your Honor.
Deputy DA: [Stand up and face the jury.] Your Honor, and ladies and gentlemen of the jury: The judge has told you that we must prove three things. There is absolutely no question about the first two things we must prove. First, the defendant Resisted arrest granted he was saving a life but if they called the police in the first place they wouldn't of had to worry about it. Second, The witnesses hand prints were found on the guns found.The defendant admitted that yes there were speeding which is a crime. According to what the judge just told you, that is all we have to prove. Based on the evidence, you must find the defendant guilty.
Public Defender: [Stand up and face the jury.] Your Honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury: My clients Dustin Watts, Tyronne Jenkins and Janessa Jenkins were trying to save a life. Mine at that. Tyronne (the driver) was only speeding because they could've killed me at any time and he wasn't trying to risk it. My client's fingerprints were found on the gun because they had to take the gun out of the peoples hands that way they didn't get shot. But the prosecution's own expert told you that other fingerprints were found on those guns that could not be identified. I suggest to you that they belong to the real thief: Jordan who didn't have a gun license. Remember that under the law my client is presumed to be innocent. The prosecution must prove every part of its case beyond a reasonable doubt - that means that you must be very sure. One of the things they did prove is that my client did resist arrest but they did that to get to me in time. Imagine if they got arrested I would've gotten raped and probably killed. The prosecution has presented no real evidence to you to show that this is not true. That means that there is a reasonable doubt and, therefore, you must find my clients not guilty.
Judge: we will be back in 10 minutes and when we return we will have the verdict
The judge got up and went into his office, the jury went into the conference room and Nyesha was over at the lawyers desk talking to Dustin and Tyronne.
Nyesha's POV
Dustin: you did amazing babe
Me: well I had my inspiration
Dustin: no but seriously you were just throwing everything he gave you right back at him X2
Me: your lucky if he asked about your arm I would've shown him your hospital bill
Dustin: damn, look at my baby, Lawyer Nyesha Watts
Me: Nyesha Watts, hmm I like the sound of it
Dustin: me too
Diamond: damn y'all just started dating and already using last names
Nia: I better be a bridesmaid
Diamond: I better be the maid of honour or someone is getting they ass kicked
Chase: and if I'm not the best man all hell is bout to break loose
Me: why are you planning my wedding?
Dustin: I'm fine with it as long as I'm the one your getting married to
Diamond: Awe, Chase why can't you ever say stuff like that?
Chase: cause that's some corny ass shit
Diamond: you just had to ruin the damn moment....cha
Sam: I'm with chase, corny shit
Nia: Boy you better rewind, that
Sam&Chase: THAT SHIT WAS CORNY
Nia: one word: Satisfy
Sam: Never mind I'm with Dustin, that shits romantic
Chase: nigga you whipped
Sam: nah I'm just satisfied
~Ten Minutes Later~
Judge: Will the jury foreperson please stand? Has the jury reached a unanimous verdict?
Foreperson: Yes
Clerk: The jury finds the defendant..........
