Amisty wasn't overly surprised that he didn't let her down with Harry and Ron.

Why would he? She had, after all, been clearly spying on him and his supposed friends.

What did come as a shock, on the other hand, was the fact that he was petting her. His hand weaving through the curls at the top of her head, between her ears.

It was gentle, yes, but still strange nevertheless.

She was far from relaxed in his arms, eyes pleading for rescue from her friends.

"Wait here. I'll go get it -- my father's just sent it to me -- " And once again, he didn't put her down.

He didn't even loosen his hold. He walked up to his dormitory, leaving Harry and Ron sitting in front of the blazing fire.

When he pushed open the door, she gave one hard shove with her back paws and hurtled to the ground.

It wasn't graceful, it wasn't elegant, but it was freedom.

A freedom that didn't last her long, as Draco closed the door right behind him.

The floor was bitterly cold, seeping in through her paws and through her body. She felt her teeth start to poke through her lips, a glare narrowing her gaze.

Unknowingly, her tail had risen a few inches.

"You know, it's far more pleasant speaking to you when you can't reply," He commented, as if this wasn't a kidnapping.

"You slimy git! You've got to be breaking at least ten school rules!" She screeched, only for it to come out as a squeaky kind of bark.

"See," He smirked, laughing as her tail dropped, "much cuter too, if I might add." Amisty felt her face flush, ears burning.

It was then that she was grateful her fur was dark. All she could manage was a strangled yip, not even knowing herself what the translation was.

"You can stay on the bed, the floor gets cold," He spoke nonchalantly, gesturing to the green laden bed that was pressed against the wall.

She gave it a suspicious glance, taking hesitant steps forward.

He watched her, amused, as she scrambled up, not quite ready to lie down but grateful to escape the floor.

It was drenched in his scent and she was almost positive she would reek of it once she left.

He rummaged through his trunk, taking out an assortment of extra quills and sweets. It took all of her self control not to leap on his back and claw the living daylights out of him, so to contain her fury she curled up at the foot of the bed.

"Glad to see you're making yourself comfortable," Draco piped up dryly from his trunk, not even looking up at her.

She flattened her ears, blocking out his voice and instead focusing on the heat of the blanket beneath her.

"Shut up," She growled lowly, her tail twitching irritably.

He had no need to understand her as the message was very clear, and he laughed.

"Sorry to disrupt your lounging, but unless you wish to spend the night here I would follow me," Draco got to his feet, smirking per usual and started toward the door with a newspaper clipping in his hand.

She rolled her eyes, jumping down from the bed and landing on the floor with a yelp. Without realizing it, she had adapted to the warmth and now the sudden feeling of the cold shocked her.

Draco just shook his head, not pausing in his movements as he scooped her up into his arms yet again, the paper tickling against her side.

"What are you doing!" She yelped, emerald eyes wide as saucers as her paws left the ground yet again.

"Calm down, you clearly don't want to be on the floor," He whispered, not wanting to draw attention to the two of them as he walked down the steps to the common room.

His breath was warm, stirring the fur around her cheeks.

She felt her face heat up yet again, but remained still even though her embarrassment was clear in her stiff posture.

He was laughing, the evidence right there as his chest was shaking slightly.

In return, she dug her claws into his arms.

That stopped his laughter pretty quickly.

He, to keep the attention of the surrounding Slytherins away from them, just glared down at her.

She gave him a small grin, well, as best as she could still being in a wolf form, and released her grip.

Harry and Ron looked up as they entered, Harry raising an eyebrow at Amisty. She just swiveled her ears around, letting him know she was okay.

"That'll give you a laugh," He took a seat beside the two of them, shoving the newspaper clipping into Ron's hands.

Ron scanned it over, his eyes widening and then covering up his shock with a strained laugh.

Amisty squirmed, trying to read the paper but still caged in Draco's hold. Ron handed it to Harry, who was closer to her and she could read it slightly better.

With a few more wiggles, and Harry shifting slightly, she could read the whole thing.

Inquiry at The Ministry of Magic

Arthur Weasley, Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office was today fined fifty Galleons for bewitching a Muggle Car.

Mr. Lucius Malfoy, governor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where the enchanted car crashed earlier this year, called today for Mr. Weasley's resignation.

"Weasley has brought the Ministry into disrepute," Mr. Malfoy told our reporter. "He is clearly unfit to draw up our laws and his ridiculous Muggle Protection Act should be scrapped immediately."

Mr. Weasley was unavailable for comment, although his wife told reporters to clear off or she'd set the family ghoul on them.

Amisty nearly clawed Malfoy's eyes out right then and there, the only thing stopping her being the now vise-like grip keeping her locked in place against his chest.

She was fuming, writhing and squirming and writhing to try and inflict as much damage as possible to him.

Only for nothing to happen.

"Well? Don't you think it's funny?" He asked, so casually to the point it seemed that Amisty was a mere bug.

Harry handed back the newspaper clipping, looking crestfallen.

"Ha, ha," He offered, but it was far from true laughter.

His eyes were dim, his smile far too small.

Malfoy didn't seem to care.

"Arthur Weasley loves Muggles so much he should snap his wand in half and go and join them. You'd never know the Weasleys were purebloods, the way they behave," He continued, sneering.

Amisty growled, a low, threatening noise from the base of her throat.

Malfoy didn't look the faintest bit alarmed.

He knew she couldn't do anything, she was stuck.

Stuck in the arms of a boy she despised.

Ron looked furious, but it looked like Crabbe was instead.

"What's up with you, Crabbe?" He asked sharply, shooting the said boy a suspicious glance, grey eyes flashing.

"Stomachache," Ron replied, gritting his teeth.

It was clear, to Amisty at least, that he was struggling to stay in character.

"Well, go up to the hospital wing and give all those Mudbloods a kick from me," He replied, laughing darkly.

Amisty lost it, an outraged snarl escaping her lips and only muffled as he had seen her action before she went through with it, clamping his hand over her muzzle.

Her pupils had dilated, fangs bared, and once again the same taunting voice rang in her mind.

Mudblood, Mudblood.

Malfoy continued as if it were nothing. "You know, I'm surprised the Daily Prophet hasn't reported all these attacks yet. I suppose Dumbledore's trying to hush it all up. He'll be sacked if it doesn't stop soon. Father's always said old Dumbledore's the worst thing that's ever happened to this place. He loves Muggle-borns. A decent headmaster would never've let slime like that Creevey in."

Harry shot her a warning look, desperately trying to get her to calm down.

It didn't help, as he looked as angry as she was, he just couldn't show it. Malfoy had started to pretend to take pictures and Amisty sprang free, fur bristling.

Harry immediately grabbed her, knowing they wouldn't get anywhere if she ended up attacking him.

"Potter, can I have your picture, Potter? Can I have your autograph? Can I lick your shoes please, Potter?" And then he dropped his hands, looking at Harry and Ron. "What's the matter with you two?"

So, after another brief moment of hesitation, they both choked out some laughter.

"Saint Potter, the Mudbloods' friend. He's another one with no proper wizard feeling, or he wouldn't go around with that Granger Mudblood," He continued.

Amisty struggled in Harry's grasp now and even he seemed to be on the brink of letting her go.

"And people think he's the Slytherin's heir!"

She stopped struggling.

They were so close to finding out the truth, just a few a more words --

"I wish I knew who it is. I could help them," He sighed irritably.

All three of them had varying levels of shock, with Ron's jaw dropping, Harry stiffening, and Amisty with eyes as wide as saucers.

She couldn't make a sound.

"You must have some idea who's behind it all..." Harry urged, leaning forward slightly.

Malfoy only looked more annoyed.

"You know I haven't, Goyle, how many times do I have to tell you?" He snapped. "And Father won't tell me anything about the last time the Chamber was opened either. Of course, it was fifty years ago, so it was before his time, but he knows all about it, and he says that it was all kept quiet and it'll look suspicious if I knew too much about it. But I know one thing -- last time the Chamber of Secrets was opened, a Mudblood died. So I bet it's a matter of time before one of them's killed this time... I hope it's Granger."

Ron's grip on his chair was starting to turn his knuckles white.

Amisty wasn't much better, seeing red at his mention of Hermione.

"D'you know if the person who opened the Chamber last time was caught?" Harry asked, shooting Ron a warning look and tightening his grip on Amisty.

"Oh, yeah... whoever it was was expelled. They're probably still in Azkaban," Malfoy replied, shrugging.

"Azkaban?" Harry's eyebrows knit together, quite a familiar expression on Goyle's face.

"Azkaban -- the wizard prison, Goyle. Honestly, if you were any slower, you'd be going backward," He rolled his eyes, and then tensed slightly. "Father says to keep my head down and let the Heir of Slytherin get on with it. He says the school needs ridding of all Mudblood filth, but not to get mixed up in it. Of course, he's got a lot on his plate at the moment. You know the Ministry of Magic raided our manor last week?"

Amisty pricked her ears as Harry tried desperately to look concerned.

"Yeah... Luckily they didn't find much. Father's got some very valuable Dark Arts stuff. But luckily, we've got our own secret chamber under the drawing-room floor -- " He continued.

"Ho!" Ron exclaimed suddenly, a glint of triumph in his eyes.

All eyes turned on him and he turned red... so did his hair.

Amisty looked up at Harry, her mouth dropping open slightly in shock as his scar made a faint appearance on his forehead.

The boys leaped to their feet, sending Amisty tumbling to the floor.

"Medicine for my stomach," Ron explained, and the two of them ran.

She tried to race after them, to propel her paws as fast as possible away and out of the common room, but she also wanted to stay behind.

To bite Malfoy and claw him and then run.

Her moment of hesitation was her greatest mistake.

The second her wits came about she was being picked right back up.

Again.

"Not so fast," Malfoy whispered, pulling her up against his chest yet again and starting toward his dormitory.

She opened up her mouth to protest and he just covered her mouth with his hand, "I have a few questions for you."

Once again they were inside his dormitory.

Amisty, still blazing with anger, was shocked when he let her down on the ground.

She whirled around, teeth bared, leaping toward him when --

"Lupus Estaria."

The spell worked much faster than usual, there was no blinding white light, there was no pause in her momentum either, and she ended up crashing into Malfoy as a human.

It didn't cease her anger.

"Is there any time when you aren't a bloody twat?" She snarled, landing right on top of him with a glare so livid it could melt ice.

"What can I say? You bring out the worst in me," He shrugged, the corner of his mouth quirking up in a smirk.

She lifted up her fist to punch him, he grabbed it mid air.

She tried again with her other hand, her plan foiled once again.

"How dare you talk about my friends that way," She fumed, not giving up on her attacks even though there was no way she could do anything.

He spun around, her back now against the floor.

"I wish I could've kept you as a wolf, much easier to handle then," His grey eyes bored into her own, breath billowing over her nose.

"Well that seems like your own problem, doesn't it?" She spat, struggling in his hold and fighting down her blush.

"What were you doing following Crabbe and Goyle," He asked, ignoring her obvious discomfort and propping himself up on his elbows, hovering over her.

"That's none of your business," She growled, meeting his piercing gaze with a withering glare. "Why would you even care? All you seem to do is drive me insane and tease me about things that aren't under my control."

He dipped his head, his nose only a few inches away from her own.

She inhaled sharply, feeling heat build up on her face.

"Don't tell me you were trying to find me?"
