I wish I was someone else,
Someone loved and cared about,
I wish I was a different person,
Someone who could get out,
Out of habit,
Out of line,
Out of hurting,
Out of my mind,
But I am not someone else,
Because I am me,
With my issues,
Problems,
Flaws and all,
But those make me me,
So I sometimes stand tall.
It is hard to be tall though,
Because the ground is far below,
So some days I shrink,
Some days I don't know,
And it's hard to be short,
Craning my neck to see,
Everyone else,
So far above me.
I am myself,
What a horrible thing,
I am a person,
I'm not interesting,
I guess all there is to say,
Is that I grew my own way,
All twisted and curved,
Until the later days,
I curved so far,
And now I'm someone hated,
Because I told my parents I am twisted,
And now I am faded.
My friends said they'd support me,
Some still do not,
But my entire family,
Just wishes I would rot,
Because I am me,
My own messed up self,
They had a plan in mind,
But I messed that up as well,
It's okay to be twisted,
In certain ways,
Like being who you are,
And planning as it plays.
Sometimes I love you,
But you're never here,
And sometimes you're twisted,
Twisted by fear,
You left me alone,
I was disheartened,
You broke me again,
The moment we parted.
I am myself,
A sad, broken human,
Me like no other,
In my ways I'm fluent,
I am who I am,
And I cannot change,
Not tomorrow yet,
Only yesterday.
