The flame danced lazily. Its low light barely able to pierce the darkness of the room which only the curtains that reached the ground to cover the cracked windows, a rugged carpet and a wooden stool on top of which the flames candle sat was all that was visible in the darkness. As the flame danced the candle that was keeping the tiny light going was getting smaller and smaller the crimson wax surrounding the wick that burned was melting ever so slowly, trickling its way down the side of the candle before collecting in a pool contained on a small plate. As a breeze managed to make its way into the room the flame danced excitedly as if a spark of life was added to it.
As the flame began to burn down its candle just a little bit faster a gust of wind forced open the windows them blow over the stool knocking the candle to the ground. At first it seemed like the flame had gone out but then the carpet began to smoke and soon the small flame had grown into a fire creeping its way around the room spreading to the curtains and up the walls. And as the room was illuminated by the fire new shapes could be seen, a man who had falling to his knees sat there, motionless even though the fire was now licking at his feet. Beside him lay two bodies both unmoving even as the flames covered them, consuming them. Finally the man made a sound, as he began to weep, he stared at the photograph I'm his blood stained hands. The photograph should the man and his two friends smiling, laughing those were happier times now, now all that was left was the flames. And as the flames covered the man like a coat but even with this the man began to smile "I'll see you soon.. " he said before the room collapsed stopping the man from uttering his friends names one, final, time.
