Ava's POV
*Half way home*
"Please..we have go back and get Charlie" I begged
"We can't Ava..We fight vamps during the day" Jay said and kept on walking..
"Chase please let's go get Charlie " I said and turned to meet Chase
"Am sorry Ava but Jay is right..We can fight Vamps better during the day" He said and tried to pull me with him but I held back and they all turned to look at me except for Eve ofcourse..
"If you wouldn't help me then I will go myself" I argued..
"Ava!" Chase said and came to me..
"You can't do this all by yourself" He added and turned me around to face his gorgeous face..
I melted but tried not to show it..
"I can and I will" I stormed out..
Chase wanted to follow me but Jay held him back..
"Leave her Chase. .and Ava you know where to find us when you are done thinking this over" He yelled that last part but it sounded faint to me..
They left me there in the cold dark..and I felt alone but I needed to find my friend but where should I check first???
Charlie..please stay strong!!
Chase's POV
We walked home quietly but Eve tried to make small talk with me but I didn't comply..
I feared that the Vamps might come back for Ava..
I needed to go meet her and I know exactly where she would be...
I left after everyone went to bed..
I knew that Ava was gonna be in the Motard Loo.
Motard Loo was this stream like area where lonely couples come for a boat ride..Not that Ava was lonely but she just enjoyed watching them when she wanna think..
Btw Motard Loo is only used in this book..
She told me that it was her favourite spot in town especially when she doesn't know what to do..
She also said that she loved the street lights around that area and they were just beautiful..
I went straight for the Motard Loo and there sat a goddess by the edge of the brick barrier to the stream. ..
I smiled and came her way..
I sat next to her and I felt her shift..
Oh right! She must be mad at me...
I came closer to her and she didn't move..
I wrapped my hands around her and she placed her head on my chest then she came up and whispered
"Am still angry with what you did back there"
I shush her trying to keep the moment..she complied then let go..
"But really Ava..we only fight Vamps during the day"
"Okay! I know that now"
"Yh so u wanna head back?"
Please say no!!
"No..let's stay here"
Thank God !!
We leaned in close and stayed there for a few hours till we decided to go back home..
Ava's POV
I knew he would come and meet me there..What a sweetheart!
Ava stay focused on finding your Dad and the ring!!
Morning came by very fast and I was flushed from the late hours that I stayed up last night..
Lord Gothwell said I should start studying the signs for me to develop my power as a true shadow hunter..
Urghh!! So much work.
I had to comply cause they said it will help me fight against them..
Chase came by to the hall a few times and offered me coffee..
Jay also came and got me through some signs and it's history..
He taught me about the infinite plus sign..
He had me at the different kingdoms but then lost me at war..
All I heard were bunches of blahs there and blahs here..
It was really boring and when he noticed my attention span was long gone into thoughts he stopped for a while and watched me gaze off..
I wanted to come back but I was way away..I came back and noticed that Jay wasn't there anymore and it was Chase..
"Really hitting those books eh?"
He asked fundly..
I just gave a nod..
"Common you need a walk"
I nodded cause I really needed to get my nose out of the books..
He tugged at me and lifted me off the chair..I followed his movements and our lips almost touched when he drifted back and teased me.
I whined but stopped to follow him..
We were out the house and I couldn't feel more refreshed..
I feel like am moving something buh what??
Ohh Charlie! !
"Chase..when are we gonna find Charlie?"
"Oh right..We gotta go back and get the rest"
"Oh ..alright"
We planned on going straight for home but I stopped at corn dog cart and Charlie said he had never eaten one..
He gotta try it out!!
He did and a smile came up on him face as he chugged it down..
I laughed at how ridiculous he looked..
We then went home to get the rest and we also informed Lord Gothwell but he couldn't care less about it..
Something is off about him but nah..
Jay poured down a pile of what seemed like stones in the same area of the fight last night..
It began to roll and we followed it for some reason that I wasn't aware of but if Chase was in the idea then what's there to loose..
The rolling stones stopped at an abandoned area where seemed to be dead and dark for some reason.
We just walked right into through the unlocked door.. I was feeling alot nervous when I heard and felt a swam of bats fly over us..
I screeched and Chase held me and smiled..
I couldn't smile back..so I just nodded..
We kept on walking into the dark and I hit something that made more noise and the bats came flying out..
Could this get any worse!!
I was feeling the need to melt when I saw a shadow flash pass us..
They all had their flashlights on but I didn't have one so I stayed right beside Chase..
Gosh..I hate this place..
We made out way up some creepy curvy steps and walked down what was left of a hallway and into an actual hall..
A stream of light clearly filtered came through and we followed it and it led us to where Charlie was hanged and tied up..
Charlie!!
Hey...He might be dead but who knows..
You know the routine but just to be sure..
