I sat by his side in the hospital. Though the clinic gave him his emergency EpiPen and benadryl for his hives. They still wanted to take him the hospital for precautions and further treatment. Imani was here also. She was boohoo crying. I was annoyed
"What happened?" I asked and she played with her braid before talking.
"I was feeding him and then he had red marks on his face and he was talking with a lisp. I don't know." she went on and on.
"You didn't know that he was allergic to sesame seeds?" I asked and then she looked really guilty.
"He's allergic to sesame seeds?" she asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, why do you think he never eats McDonald's or Burger King?" I said. She simply shrugged. He's been knocked out for about three hours. They gave him stronger medicating for the swelling of his eyes and tongue. His skin was clearing up. It was then Kelvin and Alina rushed in. They both looked so worried Kelvin dropped to his knees.
"Nah, they killed my dawg! I can tell he put up a fight. Man, I guess I can have yo room." I looked at him in disbelief.
"Kelvin, Josiah isn't dead, he's just asleep." Alina said annoyed as she glared over at Imani for a quick minute.
"Yo but why his face still look like that, ain't it been an hour?" Kelvin asked. I shrugged making us both look at the closest thing to a doctor in the room, Alina.
"It could take about three hours for the swelling to go down. But how'd this happen? How'd he get sesame seeds he's usually really careful when ordering his food." Alina asked making us all look over at Imani, who bit at her nail nervously.
"It was an accident. I didn't know. I thought he just didn't like sesame seeds I didn't know he was allergic."
"Wow." Alina dragged. I looked at her before I decided to get up. My ankle wasn't hurting as much anymore I guess to me staying off of it. I looked down at his swollen face, I was thinking about kiss his head but then I remembered Imani was in here. So I awkwardly patted his shoulder.
"Tell him we were here." I told Imani as I pulled Alina out as she was glaring at Imani. Imani just nodded. As we were walking out Alina took her arm from my grasp.
"OO I just want to rip each braid off her scalp!" Alina snapped Kelvin placed his arm on her shoulder.
"Calm down bae." Kelvin said in a calming tone. But one thing about Alina she couldn't be calmed down.
"Tell mi fi calm down one more bloodclaut time." Alina said through gritted teeth. I laughed while Kelvn just bit his lip.
"Don't be talking to a nigga like that, you know I like that shit." he said holding onto her waist, making her roll her eyes and blush.
"Well you calmed her down." I joked. Alina rolled her eyes again.
"I got to head home, to write my paper for Professor Pollozzi. You guys want to help me?" I said. Alina was about to say something until Kelvin lifted her onto his shoulder.
"We got some business to handle back at my place." Kelvin said Alina just giggled. As Kelvin jogged away with her on his shoulder. I rolled my eyes.
"Text me when you get home!" I heard Alina yell out to me. I just walked over to my dorm. When I got to the door, I patted my pants searching for my keys. I gratefully found them. I unlocked the door and walked in almost tripped over one of Alina's damn sneaker. I swear she just threw her shoes every where. I picked it up and tossed it into her room before going into my room. I stripped of my clothes and pulled on some bloomer shorts, that hugged my butt nicely. Then I pulled on a sweatshirt that I had got from my high school. I took my ponytail out and let my curls breathe.
I grabbed my laptop and walked out into the living room area. I was on a roll until my phone vibrated.
Evan: Hey Trinity
Me: Heyy wassup Evan?
Evan: Oh. Nothing I just wanted to ask you about how your friend was?
Me: Lol he's good.
Evan: What ya doing?
Me: Pollozzi's paper.
Evan: No way me too! I'm almost done.
Me: Fr?
Me: Do you feel like helping me out with it?
Evan: Yeah, of course. I'll be over in about 5 mins.
Me: K
I was about get up and pull on something more appropriate. But then I thought about it. Evan was giving off a gay vibe. I didn't need to change. I started playing some game on my phone when I heard a knock at the door. I popped up and walked over to the door. His normally gel backed hair was messy. I felt as my eyebrow rose.
"May I come in?" He asked and I nodded.
"I brought this for you." he said nervously handing me a party sized sized back of ruffles cheddar and sour cream chips. I smiled.
"Thanks, I don't really like these that much though." I said.
"Great more for me then." he smiled. I just giggled. I led the way over to the couch as sat down. He opened his laptop satchel case and took his laptop out. I sat and he lowered himself on the floor. Leaning his back by where my feet were.
We started working on the Paper and he of course finished before me.
"Okay, so if it's exactly five thousand words she's giving us a failing grade?" I asked. He looked up at me and nodded.
"Yes, she said if it's the minimum she's going to grade us as such." he said. I rolled my eyes.
"Time to make don't(s) into, do not(s)." I said seriously making him laugh.
"Just add, about four hundred extra facts." He said. I nodded. When I typed the very last word I looked at Evan and tapped his shoulder.
"Yeah?" he asked, I smirked while handing him my laptop.
"You want me to read it?" I nodded.
"I sure do." I said as I got up and walked over to the kitchen area. I felt a pair of eyes on me as I walked, I quickly looked back and saw Evan looking at me with a slight smirk. I grabbed two waters and walked out. I saw that he was still reading so I placed one of the waters next to him. He looked over at it.
"Thanks." he said. I sat in total and complete silence until I decided I wanted some chips. I picked up the bag and started munching on them. I was watching Moesha on fuse when I felt his hand on my knee. I stared at it for a while.
"I want some chips." he laughed,
"OHHH!" I laughed of course embarrassed. I laughed at something Myles said. Making Evan look up.
"Oh, Moesha. I loved this show. I didn't know it still came on." he said catching me off guard.
"You watch Moesha?" I asked out of shock. He nodded as he munched on the chips.
"You watching any other shows like Moesha?" I asked. He nodded. Intriguing me I patted the sofa telling him to come up and sit next to me. He sat next to me and I placed the chips in the middle and asked him.
"What are the shows?"
"The Parkers, Girlfriends, Living Single-"
"Living Single?"
"Yeah." he said, as if it was something not to be shocked about. I mean, we know all the white people were watching friends not no Living Single.
"I actually had my very first crush on Max."
I was so shook on him watching shows that I love that I tuned him out.
"We have more in common that I thought." I said looking him deep in the eyes. I saw as he licked his lips. I looked around in disbelief but this time I turned back to face him, but I was faced with his lips on mine. I was really shook at this point.
He pulled away.
"You aren't gay?" I asked, and he shook his head.
"No, where would you get that idea?" he asked. I was about to base it all on his appearance, but I changed my mind and kissed him again. His lips were a little plump. I felt as his hand touched my thigh, I was fine with that, I held his face is the 'perfect' position.
"WOW, get you some girl." Alina said making me push Evan off of me.
"Oh shit, Hello Evan how's your sister Dawn?" Alina asked, and I wanted to slap the weave off of her head.
"She's good. Trinity I should get going." Evan said as he picked up his stuff and rushed out.
"Oh, okay thanks for your help Evan."
As soon as the door closed Alina was smirking.
"How that Vanilla taste girl?" she joked. I rolled my eyes.
"Trinity I thought you said he was gay." She said.
"Shut up I really thought he was." I said. I shrugged I should start mingling again. And clearly there was a small connection between Evan and I.
"What about Josiah?" Alina asked.
"What about Josiah?" I repeated with more of annoyed tone.
