For my introductions my name is Nirvana Shinto, I have been fourteen since August the twenty-ninth. I am a soft-speaking boy who enjoys lollipops, and doesn't want to get into anything that could harm me or anyone else. Today I learned a few things from my foster parents, tomorrow I will be going to Surya High school, one of the most prestigious schools on Boru Island. Only people of great social standings can attend and/ or those with high academic success. The other part is, I am not really a human, rather the child of a demon and an angel. The very sound of that would make most people run in the other direction screaming, "Monster! You're a monster!" If I was younger I probably would have been able to prove them wrong, but recently I have been able to make snow and ice appear out of nowhere, and people always stare at me then blush when I look in their direction. It is quite awkward because no matter what gender anyone will try to go after me. Also it could be the middle of summer and if I touch anything with my bare skin it will become extremely cold and eventually turn to ice. I am not really sure if what has happened is going to affect me in my home life but, high school will be an entirely different challenge.
To temporarily solve my problem I constantly wear black gloves to keep ice from forming on whatever I touch, and a sapphire blue hooded jacket to hide what my face looks like as much as possible. Even my foster parents have done their best to help me conceal my powers by sending letters to the dean, principal, and head of discipline to support me in anyway possible. However if I give them any problems or abuse the added liberty they could expose my secret. Not that I am worried about the teachers and staff, who may give me trouble, rather I am worried about the students that will be around me every day during school. If something happens and my powers take effect before I can harness them, then school life will be even more difficult. Anyway I will have to get ready for tomorrow because, the first day of school starts then, so I have to get some supplies.
"Okay, I still need two notebooks, pencils, college rule paper,and a calculator"
"Uh, excuse me sir. I hate to ask you this but could you take off your hood?"
I turned around and saw a female employee, about the age of a high school student but slightly older. I shook my head and started looking up, but she reached for my hood anyway, which caused my hood to fall down exposing my face. As soon as we made eye contact she couldn't stop blushing and staring at me. Quickly I pulled my hood back on and tried to get her out of her bliss like trance.
"Ma'am, are you okay?"
"Huh? Oh! Yes I am very sorry, c-can I help you?", she finally responded, still blushing and avoiding eye contact. After finally getting the rest of my supplies, I paid for the goods,we said our goodbyes, and when I walked through the door she just whispered loud enough, "Come again soon dream boy."
Once again I have another fan girl gunning for me. This makes the third one today, it must not be my day! I can't get over this nuisance of a power, it really is more of a curse than anything else. This is what I always tell myself whenever this happens. This time however while I was walking home, another woman was walking toward me, but as she saw me approaching she stood still. Her crimson hair reflected the sun as though she was on fire, her eyes were a gentle orange, even her clothes resembled a wild fire that was still ablaze.
"Excuse me, but are you going to Surya High?", she asked in a sweet voice. Wait she guessed where I am attending school and we just met?! Something is not right here. I kept my silence and backed up slowly, I am shy around people who approach me, and since she guessed where I am going to school, it only made it even more unsettling. I turned around and ran the other direction as quickly as possible, holding onto my stuff all the while. I glanced back only once and when I did the girl I met... started to cry.
I got to the front of my house and rang the bell, Mother answered the door but held out a trunk and a room key. I cocked my head to the side out of complete confusion. She explained that the trunk and key was for me, since the high school has dorms it would be more convenient for me to live there while I attend school. Reluctantly I took the key and placed it in my pocket and walked inside to enjoy the last night in the home I was so used to.
I was awake for most of the night. I could not find a find any reason to find any rest when I was still energized from my mysterious encounter, she was an odd person who just stopped a complete stranger and asked a random question. What really caught my attention though was her appearance. Similar to an open fire but no heat was felt. I wonder if high school life will be anymore surprising than today was. Why do all the weird things always happen to me of all people?
