Chapter 28 ~ When things get tough, You can Count on Me
Graduation Day
I stood in line with butterflies in my stomach. It was the day I have been waiting for all my life. With Jacob right behind me and Summayah in front. The ones that I loved the most.
"Damn, We are really about to be grown now" Summayah whispered
"Fuck that my feet starting to hurt, I want to sit down" I exclaimed
"Aww poor baby" Jacob coed
"Suck My Dick" I rolled my eyes at him
The line began to move as each person enters the Stage. I made my way to my seat and smiled. I spotted my Mom, My Aunt, summayah family and Kim. I smiled ear to ear. My favorite principle walked on stage and talked to the crowd as the Ceremony started. The valedictorian and the salutatorian gave there speeches. Some students preformed songs and poems. Next thing I know my name was being called.
"This Next student I am about to call, Many of y'all already know her. I love her personally and she is so joyful and a delightful to get to know. Now may Queenie Rosa Willams come and get her diploma" The principle shouted
I got out of my seat and walked to the front of the stage and got my Diploma and took my seat once again as the ceremony wrapped up.
We threw are caps into the air and hugged and did whatever with whoever. I was so excited as we each exited the stage. We all was supposed to march out of the school together. I hurried and snatched my heels off as Jacob scooped me up bridal style and carried me out of the school with summayah on his hip.
"NIGGA WE MADE IT" I shouted
Later on
We were still at the school hanging around the halls saying goodbye to everyone. It was around 6:30, So there wasn't much to do besides hang around. The parties didn't start til at least 9 pm. I was talking with one of my favorite teachers from freshman year and helping her pack.
"You really did grow up, you are finna be 18" she sighed
"Yea"
"Queenie" a voice which sounded like summayah called out
I turned around as everyone ran up to me. They all looked concerned.
"What's wrong"
"Daniella is having the babies" Kiya blurted out
"Okay" I asked
"They're 2 months early" Zavi exclaimed
"They're not my kids" I said letting the jealousy get to me
"You should go check on him" Summayah said
I took what they were saying into consideration and I slowly nodded my head 'Yes' as Kiya took off.
We all piled into Kiya's explorer as she drove off to the hospital. She made it there in less then 10 minutes and let me out right in front. I walked in and asked for Daniella's room number. They said she was still in the recovery room and sent me off to the waiting room where I seen Mateo with his head down.
"Mateo" I said softly, grabbing his attention.
He stood up as I pulled him into a hug standing on my tippy toes.
"I'm scared Queenie, What if he's not mines" Mateo said
"You don't have to get the test" I said
"I'm scared, 1 of them didn't even make it" Mateo said shaking his head seeming if he was about to cry
I hugged him 1 last time as he bent over and cried on my shoulder. "You Know what you gotta do Mateo, It's your choice"
