A/N: Really lame title lmao, sorry about that. Also I've gotten a few requests (which I'm super stoked about) so I'll be working on them, but just know it might take a few days for me to write and publish them, sorry if you don't see your request as soon as you'd like. Thanks for sending them in though, feel free to send more :D

I combined some prompts for this one but it was a request sent in too! I kinda feel like I rushed this...idk, but I didn't want to do another multi-part fic yet, so I forced this into one part ha. Also, the timeline is super messed up, but I don't care, call it lazy writing but I got too confused trying to make it work so just act like it's normal okay thanks lol

This is so long and cheesy oh my lord forgive me...

Warnings: Language, some Insecurity (reader)

"You haven't even touched your food. What's going on?" Peter asked, giving you a look when you avoided his gaze and continued poking at your food.

You two were on a date at a new Chinese food place Peter was excited to try, especially cause he knew how much you loved Chinese - but you seemed so tense and unresponsive during the dinner that he knew something wasn't quite right.

"Nothing, Pete," you mumbled, not wanting to talk about it. But he saw the way you bit your lip and knew something was up.

"What is it, Y/N?" he asked, his hand moving to yours.

"We're moving," you said in a flat tone, your eyes suddenly filling with tears as you watched Peter's shocked expression. "Mom's moving us to California for her work."

He blinked, mouth opening and closing. "When?"

"Two weeks," you bit your lip, shutting your eyes. "I won't-I won't be able to visit because it's too expensive, and we're leaving so soon, I just don't understand why she would do this now, in the middle of the school year-"

"Hey," his voice interrupted you, making you look at him with slight panic in your eyes. "It's gonna be okay."

"I won't see you for two years, Peter," you said in a weak tone, letting the tears fall now, "I want to come back here for college, just like before, but it's two years away from you and I'm so scared-"

"Y/N," he said firmly, taking both your hands in his to try and calm you down, "We can do long distance."

You blinked, "What?"

"It's not that hard, people do it all the time," he insisted, trying for a smile, "It's not like we won't still talk and call each other, Y/N/N."

"What if..." you made a face, "What if you met someone?"

"Y/N," he made the same face, "Do you really think I would look twice at someone else when I know I have you?"

"I don't know," you muttered, not meeting his eyes.

"Sweetheart," he whispered, moving his hand to lift your chin up so you'd look at him. "I can't even dream of being with someone else because I have the best person right in front of me. If anyone would be able to find someone better, it would be you, not me."

"Shut up, you sap," you mumbled, making him crack a smile, "You really want to do long distance?"

"I'd do anything for you," he grinned, making a blush form on your cheeks. "But I don't want to lose you, Y/N. I understand if you'd rather not do long distance, but that would really suck."

"Like I'd ever willingly break up with you," you smiled, wiping your eyes, "Thank you, Pete."

"Of course, Y/N, you know I hate seeing you sad," he answered simply, "And I know this'll work out."

You gave him a grateful look, already missing him even though you had two weeks left together. Honestly, you weren't sure what you would do without your cute and nerdy boyfriend for two entire years.

"Hope they have as good Chinese food in California as they do here," Peter shot you a grin, taking a bite of his food. "Otherwise I might have to ship you some."

"Gross, Parker!" You laughed, "That would be disgusting, please don't do that."

He just laughed with you, and you immediately fell back into your normal self, much to his satisfaction. As long as he could keep you happy the next two weeks, you two could try and avoid the topic of you moving, and just enjoy your last times together before you were gone.

The day came before either of you really realized it. You had managed to shove it to the back out your mind while you were with Peter, the only times you thought about it being when you had to pack and sign forms for your new school. To say you were nervous was an understatement - the idea of transferring halfway through the school year terrified you.

"You're gonna be fine, Y/N," Peter insisted while you two walked toward your moving van, both of you hauling boxes. "You're gonna make friends so easily. And then I'll get to say 'I told you so'."

You gave him a look, "Yeah, but this school isn't like Midtown. There's barely any kids and it's such a small town that everyone knows each other!"

"Darling," he drawled out, making you roll your eyes at his goofiness, "That's even better! You'll be like that new girl from New York that everyone wants to be friends with."

"Humph," you grumbled, shoving your box to the side so Peter could fit his in.

"Any more?" He asked, looking slightly winded, which made you laugh as you shook your head. But the laugh caught in your throat when you realized what that meant.

"This is it, huh?" He said, noticing the expression on your face. You gave him a nod, sighing as you looked at all the boxes packed in the truck. Your mom was inside finishing paperwork for whoever was moving into your apartment. After this, you two would climb in the van and drive cross-country to California, so this was the last time you would see Peter.

"Are you sure?" You asked carefully, avoiding his gaze. "Are you sure you can do long distance?"

"Y/N," his gentle tone made you glance up and meet his eyes. "Of course I can. You're worth the wait."

You gave him a wide smile, "I love you, Peter Parker."

"I love you more," he said in a teasing tone, his hand cupping your cheek as he leaned forward to kiss you a last time. "Call me when you get there, okay?"

"Okay," you sighed through your nose, trying not to tear up. "I'm gonna miss you so much."

"I'll miss you too," he smiled a little, pulling you into a tight hug. You rested your head against his chest while he had his arms around you, wishing you could both stay there forever. "It'll be a long two years, but I'll be here when you come back."

"Promise?" You mumbled against his chest, making him laugh lightly.

"Promise."

As soon as you stepped away from him, you already missed the feel of his arms around you, the sound of his voice, the way his lips felt when they were pressed against your skin.

"Y/N, you ready?" You heard your mom shout from inside, making you both jump slightly as the calm air around you dissolved.

"I love you," he smiled, and this time it didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Love you more," you grinned, stealing his line from earlier as your mom headed outside of the house, a bag in hand.

Peter gave her a hug too, and kissed you one more time just for the hell of it, and before you realized it you were in the van waving as he stood on the sidewalk, waving back as the van started and began driving you to a new life.

SIX MONTHS

You had made an agreement to call him every few days, and at least video chat every week. Lately he had been a bit flaky, but you knew it was because he was getting a bigger work load than usual. Plus, he had gotten a new internship with Tony Stark, that you were so happy for him about, even if it meant you didn't get to talk as much.

Every time before you called you got a bit nervous, though you weren't exactly sure why. You kept wondering when enough would be enough for him and he'd end it with you, not wanting to wait any longer. Even though he promised, you couldn't help but fear that maybe he would meet someone and change his mind.

The next call you gave him had been postponed by him due to the internship, but you didn't mind. You hadn't seen his face through the screen in nearly two weeks, so you were excited to talk to him and see what was up with him and your old friends back in Queens.

He answered after just two beeps, and you frowned when he wasn't on the screen yet. You could only see the door to his room, and some posters and pictures on the walls, but you heard bumping around in the background.

"Uh, hello?" You asked, finally seeing his arm on the side of the camera.

"Hang on, I spilled water all over this shirt, let me find a new one!" He called out, trudging around his room shirtless and finally coming into the frame. You bit your lip, noticing that somehow over the last sixth months your boyfriend had gotten abs. The Peter you remembered was pretty skinny.

"What?" He asked, snapping you out of you daze as he tugged a t-shirt over his head.

"Are you going to a gym or something?" You blurted, not able to hide the blush dusting your cheeks when he gave you a cocky grin.

"Were you checking me out just now?" He asked, making you roll your eyes.

"Peter you have, like, abs now," you raised an eyebrow, "When the hell did that happen?"

He shrugged, looking slightly nervous which didn't make sense. "I don't know, uh, gym class?"

"Well, I'm not complaining," you teased, now making it his turn to blush. "Anyway. Anything exciting happen since our last video chat?"

He began telling you a story about him and Ned, making you laugh every few minutes at the ridiculous things he and your friend had been up to. He talked about the new school year coming up, and how he quit band this year for some reason. You couldn't help but feel giddy talking to him, making it feel like you never really left.

"What about you? I've been rambling this whole time and you've barely said a word," he pointed out, making you chuckle.

"Nothing super interesting has happened," you admitted, making him give you a look. "Honest! This town is so tiny, I feel trapped. Whenever some of my friends want to do something, we have to choose between the one movie theatre they have, or going downtown, which consists of maybe ten shops on two sides of a street."

"There's nothing quite like Queens," Peter laughed, "Must be weird not to walk around clutching pepper spray once it gets dark."

"Well, we don't have a Spider-Man," you chuckled, not noticing him tense slightly at the mention of the new hero patrolling Queens. "But it doesn't get dangerous here, like at all. It's so weird."

"Must be," he managed, glad you didn't ask more about Spider-Man. He hadn't told you his secret, and since Spider-Man was still so new, he thought you might ask about it more since he wasn't there back when you were in Queens.

"Hey, if you see Y/B/F/N, tell her she needs to send me back my favourite sweater, she keeps dodging my texts when I bring it up," you rolled your eyes, Peter glad for the subject change, "I know she loves it, but I miss it. Maybe if you bug her a bunch she'll actually send it."

"I'll be sure to drive her crazy," Peter promised, making you grin.

"Thanks. So, tell me. They still showing those cheesy Cap videos?"

ONE YEAR

This chat made you even more nervous than usual. It had been almost exactly a year since you saw him. He was a junior now, just like you. You had noticed changes in him that scared you slightly - he was taller, he didn't wear glasses anymore, and of course half a year ago you noticed he was getting, well, sort of ripped. You would guess puberty, as lame as it sounded, but he was different in other ways too. The way he talked, acted sometimes nervous or suspicious around you.

Of course, he was still your same Peter - he got excited about the new star wars movies coming out, or annoyed when he talked about Flash. He was still the same nerdy boy you'd fallen in love with, but you knew something had changed too, and you decided this call you would find out.

Everything was normal about the conversation until you brought up something that had happened a couple days before the call.

"I heard about that incident in Washington," you chewed your lip, noticing how he avoided your gaze. In fact he was so tense that you thought the connection got bad. "Peter? Did you cut out?"

"Oh, sorry!" He quickly apologized, making you suspicious as he fell into that weird act he sometimes got around you. "Yeah, um, kinda scary, but we all made it, thanks to-to Spider-Man."

You frowned, "Why are you all twitchy?"

"I'm-I'm not twitchy," he protested, making you raise an eyebrow. "What! I'm just talking to you."

"Mhm," you sighed, deciding now was the time to bring it all up. "Peter, I know it's been a year since we've seen each other, but I know when you're lying to me."

He stared into the camera for a moment, tapping his fingers on the desk. You waited, knowing he would tell you eventually. He couldn't keep secrets for very long, especially not from you. And this secret had gone on long enough.

Then he glanced behind him, kicking the door shut. You almost jumped in surprise at the sudden noise of it, watching while he got up and went out of view of the camera.

"Where'd you go?" You let out a slightly nervous laugh.

"Hang on! Shit!" You heart him hit something and chuckled, remembering how clumsy your boyfriend was. At least that hadn't changed.

Then he was back, looking slightly disgruntled and holding something red in his hands. He sat in the chair, giving you an apologetic look as he held it up.

You blinked a few times to make sure you weren't seeing things. "Is that Spider-Man's mask?"

"It's, um, it's my mask, yes," he stuttered, making you narrow your eyes.

"Peter Parker," you growled, noticing him cringe at your tone, a guilty expression on his face, "Tell me you're not swinging around the city every night shooting webs and fighting criminals like an idiot."

"Well, I wouldn't say I was doing it like an idiot-"

"You're fucking Spider-Man!" You put your hands to your head, feeling panicked as you thought of your nerdy, sweet boyfriend out every night getting beat up and beating people up. "Oh my God, Peter!"

"Oh God, I hate when you freak out, then I freak out," he mimicked your stance, his hands going to his hair with an anxious expression. You forgot how easily he fed off of your emotions and decided to try and calm down.

You took a deep breath, leaning back in your chair. "I want to reach through the camera and strangle you. If I was there I would so kick your ass."

"I know you would," he dropped his hands, his expression relaxing as yours did. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you before, Y/N."

"Why didn't you?" You asked quietly, feeling nervous. He saw your expression and was quick to interrupt.

"It's not that, Y/N, I still trust you 100%," he promised, making you lessen your tenseness. "I-I just got scared that you might, you might not want to be with meanymoreifyoufoundout."

His voice trailed off slightly and jumbled together as he avoided the camera, staring at the mask in his hands. Your pissed expression softened, realizing he thought he would lose you over this.

"Peter," his eyes snapped back to yours. "I'm not breaking up with you over anything. Even this crazy insane huge flipping secret. I love you too much to ever leave."

He grinned, straightening his posture, "Really?"

"Of course," you couldn't help but smile, "I'm still mad that you're Spider-Man, though, you aren't getting off the hook that easily, mister."

He laughed shakily, "I didn't really expect to."

EIGHTEEN MONTHS

"Can you believe we're seniors almost finishing high school?" You let out a laugh, noticing Peter scrunch up his face.

"Yeah Y/N, we're old, like, we're both adults now," he stated flatly, making you chuckle more. He was right, though - you both had gotten older, changed a lot, but in the last year and a half you still loved each other to pieces even with everything that had happened.

"So, get in anywhere yet?" You wiggled your brows at him, watching him roll his eyes. "You can probably send in the crappiest essay ever and still get into MIT."

"Mr. Stark did say he'd give me a, and I quote, 'super bomb recommendation that'll get you in without even applying'," Peter shook his head, "But I don't know."

You frowned, "What do you mean? MIT is huge, Peter! You used to talk about it all the time."

"Where did you apply?" He asked, making you frown at his obvious avoidance of the subject. Obviously he had something he wasn't sharing, but you were sure you'd get it later.

"A few places," you sighed through your nose, leaning back in your desk chair. "NYU, but that's a reach. Also Queens College. Haven't heard back yet, but then again, I have a month until they send out acceptances."

"Still want to come back here, hm?" He asked, raising a brow as you rolled your eyes this time.

"Course I do," you gave him a smile, "Queens is my home. New York is my home. You're my home."

"Awww," he teased, but you didn't care, knowing he would say the same thing about you (in fact, he had, several times. Peter was definitely a romantic, it was adorable). "California not suiting you still, I see."

"Too hot, too dry, too many potential earthquakes," you pretended to shudder, making him laugh. "Plus, we don't have a superhero here."

He turned a bit red, still not used to you teasing him about the Spider-Man thing. After your freak out half a year ago, you had calmed down and eventually gotten used to the idea of it. You both stared at each other a moment, smiles on your faces.

"We only have six months left," he said with a crooked smile that made your heart skip a beat.

"We made it almost two years," you said in response, biting your lip, "I can't believe it. I can't wait to see May again, I think I missed her the most."

He scoffed in fake hurt, putting a hand over his heart, "Ouch."

You laughed at him, shaking your head. "Hey, you never answered me. About college."

He fiddled with his fingers for a moment, chewing his lip. "Well, as you know, I'm Spider-Man-"

"Really? I had no idea," you teased, making him crack a small smile before continuing.

"As I was saying before you so rudely interrupted me," he huffed, "I have other responsibilities now, Y/N. Spider-Man is my biggest one. I can't just leave Queens unattended."

You frowned, "Peter, you have a right to your life. Just because you're Spider-Man doesn't mean you can't go to college. You've worked so hard for it."

He sighed, "I know. I just, it's hard enough to balance school and crime fighting now, but if I went to college, it'll be harder. And MIT isn't even in New York. It's not where you would be. And honestly, I'm not sure if MIT is where I want to be, if it means not being able to see you or be Spider-Man. It wouldn't be worth it, I'd rather go to school here in New York."

"What other colleges did you have in mind, then?" You asked, tapping your fingers on your desk.

"There's a bunch around here," he bit his lip again, "I don't really care where I go, because my future only has two things. Spider-Man, and you."

You couldn't help the wide grin that donned your face at that. "Yeah?"

"Of course," his cheeks turned a bit red, but he still said the next sentence confidently, "Y/N, let's move in together."

Your eyes widened, "What?"

"I'm serious," he leaned forward, his eyes getting an excited look in them, "Y/N, let's move in together. I know you'll get into NYU. We can get an apartment near there. I've had to live without you for nearly two years and I would like you to be as close as possible to me for the rest of our lives."

"You mean it?" You asked weakly, still in shock, "What about money? What about your school?"

"I'm technically an Avenger now, Y/N/N," he gave you a grin, "Avengers don't work for free. And I can go to school anywhere around there, as long as you're living with me."

"You really want this?" You felt a smile growing on your lips, "You really want to live together?"

"Remember a couple years ago when you asked if I really wanted to do long distance? I'm as sure now as I was then. And look how that worked out. So? Do you want to?"

"Of course I do, you doofus," you laughed at his relieved expression, "How would Aunt May feel about you moving out, though?"

"She's already in on this, I told her my idea weeks ago," he turned slightly red again, making you raise an eyebrow.

"You knew ahead of time that you wanted to move in with me?" You asked, turning a bit red too, "You're adorable, Pete."

He shrugged, "Y/N, I've known you were it since we first started dating."

"You're gonna make me cry, you idiot," you blinked a few times, biting your lip to keep from smiling. "I love you so much."

He gave you another grin, saying the words that had become a thing between you two in the last few years. "And I love you more."

TWO YEARS

You shouldn't be nervous, you kept repeated in your mind, It's just Peter.

But you were nervous. You hadn't been in front of him, physically, in two years, and so much has changed in that time that you were scared. He was meeting you at the airport - you had been accepted to NYU, much to your surprise, and you were starting in two weeks.

But you couldn't really focus on the nerves of starting college when all you could think about was Peter Parker waiting to pick you up after two long years. Just like he promised he would.

The flight was long enough for you, about five hours, and you arrived in the late evening. Getting off the plane was a hassle, but it was worse to get your bags, which had been delayed. Needless to say, you were grumpy, tired, and nervous, which was never a good combination.

You asked someone why it was taking so long for the bags to come around, trying not to get mad when they didn't give you a straight answer, just saying it would be another hour. Another hour. Then and there you decided you hated airports.

You couldn't find a seat so you just stood in front of the conveyor belt, tapping your foot. You hadn't even thought to text Peter that the bags would be late, too annoyed to realize you should also tell him you were out.

It was several minutes before you glanced at the board again, noting that it listed your flight and that the bags should be "arriving soon", which was bullshit. God, how much longer until-

"Man, I thought two years was a long wait, now we gotta wait for the bags for an hour on top of that?" A familiar voice said behind you, almost making you jump in surprise.

You stiffened and turned, taking in the absolutely adorable face of your grinning boyfriend. Immediately your nerves faded and you relaxed at the sight of him, thinking it silly to ever be scared in the first place.

You pretty much leaped into his arms, letting out a sob as he held you back and spun you around like all those cheesy movies he knew you loved. When he set you back on your feet, he took your face in his hands and grinned down at you, just taking you in.

"Why are you crying?" He asked, brushing your tears away.

"I missed you so much," you sniffed, "I can't believe you waited for me all this time."

"I told you I would," a smile tugged at his lips and he leaned down, pressing them to yours in the first kiss you shared in two years.

When you two broke apart, you gave him a wide smile, then surprised him when you hit him upside the back of the head.

"Hey, what was that for!" He laughed, rubbing his head where you smacked him, though it didn't hurt.

"I've been waiting almost a year to do that," you grumbled, but you weren't really mad. "I told you I'd kick your ass for being Spider-Man."

"I forgot about that," he chuckled, his eyes sparkling as he looked down at you.

"Hey, you got taller," you accused, reaching up to poke his nose, grinning at the way he scrunched it up right after.

"Or you got shorter," he teased, making you roll your eyes. "You know, they say drinking too much caffeine can stunt your growth-"

You scoffed, interrupting him, "I'm offended. You know damn well it's the spider bite that changed it."

He laughed, not responding to that as he put his hands on your shoulders, just staring at you with a goofy grin on his face.

"Hey," you said quietly, smiling back up at him.

"Hi," he replied, resting his forehead against yours, shutting his eyes. "God, I missed you."

"I missed you, too," you whispered back, your hand moving to cup his cheeks this time, grinning as he leaned his cheek against your hand. "And for the record, the Chinese food there is crap."

He let out a loud laugh at that, pulling you tight against his chest, arms holding you in such a way that you wouldn't ever want to leave his embrace. You gripped the back of his jacket, smiling into his chest and surprised he still smelled the same.

"I love you," you murmured against his shirt, smiling when he chuckled.

"Love you more."
