"Favorite band?"
She stared at me carefully
Observant and hesitant.
"Arctic Monkeys."
I nodded and took
The record in my hands.
"Same here.
Favorite song?"
"Arabella."
She seemed so confident
And I admired that.
"Why Arabella?"
She pursed her lips
And shifted her weight.
"He sings about her
And all the things he loves
Proving that he wants her.
It's everything I want to hear."
I couldn't help but think
That I could be the one to tell her
If she'd let me.
"Your lips are like the galaxy's edge."
She gave me a faint smile
Through her tears.
"And you're made of outer space."
We chuckled together
As I melted to the sound of her laugh.
"I never got your name."
She stopped laughing abruptly
Staring at me strangely
Making me worry that
I had done something wrong.
"You can call me Arabella."
