(yeah I just found out awhile ago that Ace died on Feb 15th, so basically Atami died a day after her birthday. & now I'm guessing you guys now what this chapter is about)
(Third Person POV)
Let's time skip to a year & valentines day is just around the corner, Shaw has had a great relationship with Koala & they love each other greatly. The only arguments they have are pretty small & useless, so everyone just yells at them at how stupid their arguments are about, other then that they love each other to bits
Koala was working in bed while Shaw was cuddling her with a relaxed smile on his face, she smiled down at him & placed a kiss on his cheek. She loved had shaggy & short his beard is, it somehow soothed her just by feeling it
"Let's go the sleep Koala..." he murmured, she sighed
"I have work to finish."
"Its 2 in the morning, please..."
"Let me finish this last thing, & I promise you I will." this time he sighed
"Okay, but you better." he had let go of her & laid down on his back & accidentally fell asleep, she looked over at him & sighed with a smile & caressed his cheek
"Have sweet dreams, Shawn-kun~" but, he wasn't having any of that once he was literally out cold
(Nightmare / Dream)
Shaw's eye flung open & he was in a new surrounding, he wasn't in the same one where he & Tom hang... nah, Tom was nowhere to be seen at all. Shaw stood up & looked around, everything was dark, more hollow you could even hear a echo. He backed up a bit & accidentally bumped into something, turns out it was a mirror
It was exactly the same mirror to the opposite world, so he didn't think much of it. He glided his fingers across the glass before looking away until he felt a hand grab his, his eyes widened so he turned around & was created... with himself
"W-Who are you...?!" for the first time in Shaw's life... he was scared, even more scared when he feared for his life & rejection of love towards his mother, this made him smirk
"I am you. I'm am your doubt, your low self esteem, the very reason why you hate yourself!" Shaw gulped & snatched his hand away from him, he laughed & retracted his hand back into the mirror "I'm am all your fear, bundled up into one being, like Tom."
"Your nothing compared to Tom."
"Sure I'm not, but the names Osore."
"Its not a pleasure." Osore smirked when Shaw gasped, he saw that Osore had a huge hole in his stomach & that he was missing a left leg
"You might want to turn around." Shaw didn't have to turn around when he heard the familiar screams of terror, he glued his eyes shut & shook his head
"No!!"
"Oh come on, your missing out the show!" Shaw covered his ears but he could still hear them fluently
"Shaw...!" he tiredly looked at Luffy "Y-Your... your dying right now, aren't you?!"
"Huh? I guess I am, I d-didn't think this is how I'd go out..."
"Why are you taking this as a joke, Shaw?! You dying & your missing a bloody leg!! How the hell did that happen?!" he looked down & his missing limb
"No! Shut up, get out of my head!!"
"Oh come on, we haven't even finished the show yet."
"Oh...-- I forgot about that! Don't... worry a-about it!" he coughed again & that made the duo flinch "I-I'm, unbearably cold... r-right now. Its horrible."
"Shut up, Shaw." Luffy murmured, he chuckled lightly
"I... only have a few regrets, 1) I d-didn't get to see you, Luffy... fulfil y-your dream 2) I didn't get... to marry the g-girl I fell in love with...!"
"You fell in love?" Luffy asked
"T-That's incredible." the three laugh together sadly
"Yeah... her n-name's Koala. I know you'll like her t-too. She's a Revolutionary... so i-if you ever meet her, tell her I'm s-sorry & that I love her!"
"... o-okay, we promise!" Luffy yelled, he clenched his fist before weakly lifting his pinky up
"P-Pinky promise me...!"
"I could show you more like, how your father died, how many of your comrades died as well--"
"No! Stop!!"
"Or, how heartbroken your sweet little Koala-chan was when she found out about your death!"
"Shut up!" he punched the mirror & found himself panting as sweat dripped from his forehead, he looked up & saw that cracks formed where he punched the mirror until it completely shattered
"Dead Shot!" he jumped at the sound of his name, his old bounty name, so he turned around only to be punched in the gut by a magma fist, he coughed up blood when he felt the fist go through his stomach "Not so pleasant, is it?"
(Reality)
Koala had finally finished what she was doing when she felt Shaw toss & turn, she looked over & he heart shattered at the sight. He was sweating beads while clutching onto his shirt, exactly where his scar was & tears slowly ran down his face
"Shawn? Shawn?! Are you okay?!" he only whimpered
"M–Make it stop…!! M–Make t–the pain sto–op!!" he managed to cry out, Koala suddenly found herself crying as she tried waking him up
"Shaw!! Wake up, please! Its only a nightmare!" she yelled, soon enough Sabo, Keisha, Will & Valor barged in
"What's going on?!" Sabo yelled but froze when he saw Shaw's state "What's happening to him?!" he asked as he approached his scared older brother
"I–I don't know!" they soon hear him say
"Help me…!" so, Valor raised his hand & slapped the SHIT out of Shaw
"WAKE UP!!" Shaw gasped as his eyes flung open, his breathing died down a bit when he saw his friends but that only made him cry & pull Koala into a hug as he buried his face in her neck
"I–I was so scared, I was h–having a nightmare of dying again!" he cried, everyone gasped "I was alone, I was scared…! I–I was afraid." they look at each other before looking at him with pity
"We will never leave you alone Shaw, we promise you." they nodded & hugged him, he smiled weakly
"Thanks guys…"
(Koala POV)
Everyone decided it'll be best if we stayed in the room with Shaw, he needed the company & he was also having trouble going back to sleep. He was hugging my waist but was in a ball as he did so, he was so… terrified, I suddenly got an idea
"Shawn–kun…" he looked up at me with tearful eyes "Would you like to hear a song to help you fall asleep?" he looked away but nodded his head
"A song? When did you know how to play or sing?"
"Awhile ago, now…" I grabbed a conveniently place ukulele & strummed it, it was a little off so I tuned it before playing
(this is such a beautiful song even if they are playing the same chords, its still lovely)
(Elijah Who – First Kiss)
Throughout the song, I noticed that not only was Shaw falling asleep, so were the other four. By the time I finished everyone was asleep in their own little positions, I sign to myself & set the ukulele down
"I hope this doesn't happen again, Shawn–kun. You looked so terrified." I caressed his cheek & saw that he smiled against my hand, I smile as well & kiss his cheeks "Hopefully, you have sweet dreams this time."
