"What do you mean 'here for dinner' "?I asked skeptically
"That means I come in and eat food" He said still smirking
"I was expecting a older person, and a women for that matter" I retorted back
"Oh, yeah that's my mom she's coming so don't get you're panties in a twist" Right as he said that a Middle Aged woman came running down the hallway stopping at the door
"Why didn't you wait for me?" She said sternly
"Sorry mom I was soooo excited" He said with a sweet but fake smile.
She rolled her eyes and turned her attention to me.
"Hello!" She said kindly and brought me into a hug. I was confused and a little scared to be honest. I looked at the guy only to be responded with a shrug as he walked past us and into the apartment.
"I'm sorry dear I'm just so excited to see you" The lady said still hugging me
"Uh me too?" I said with a small smile
"Don't hurt her now Lizzy" My dad said from behind chuckling
She finally let go but was still smiling.
"Sorry sorry, you know how emotional I get" She said sheepishly
"This is Ms. satchel , Olivia. An old colleague of mine." Dad said
"Oh please call me Liz dear" She said swatting dad
I stuck out my hand to greet her with a shake which she returned back.
"And this is Jake my son" Liz said pointing at him who was now sitting on the couch watching TV.
I looked at him studying his features once more, just now noticing his strong jaw line I missed before.
He turned his head and caught me staring and smirked.
I blushed and turned my head away
"We'll lets eat!" My dad finally said with a smile
While the adults catched up and prepared food in the kitchen I joined Jake by the Tv.
"Hey, I'm Olivia" I said sticking my hand out
He looked at it for a second and turned his head away focusing on the tv again.
"Okaaaay then." I said clearly annoyed
"Has you're dad told you?" He suddenly asked looking at me
"Told me what?" I said confused
"Never mind then." He answered turning off the TV and standing up walking towards the dining table.
I stood up too and walked over sitting down and placing a napkin in my lap.
Jake scoffed, sat down across from me and pulled out his cell phone.
Rude much? I thought to myself
Dad placed dishes around the table and sat at the far end while Liz placed down utensils and cups and sat at the opposite end. It almost looked as if we were a family for a second. I shuddered at the thought of Jake being my brother.
"Ok so Olivia I haven't been completely honest with you" Dad said getting serious
"What happened?" I asked nervously
"Liz isn't just an old colleague of mine. She's my partner from work" He said looking at anything but me.
"Ok soo what's that have to do with anything?" I asked edging him on
"We've been assigned some work in Europe, buisness stuff" He said
"That's awesome!" I said standing up and running to hug him
"Should I start packing?" I asked oblivious to Jakes laughing and Liz's stares.
"Sweetie it's a dangerous mission,we will be gone for 6 months." Liz said swatting Jake who was still laughing.
"What?....." I said turning to my dad who was nodding in agreement
"But...who will I stay with..." I said confused sitting back down
"Here of course." Dad said placing a hand over mine "But I'm afraid to leave you alone considering my enemies are everywhere."
"That's why we've been moving" I said finally getting it
He nodded and started to speak again
"But don't worry we have a companion for you to stay with" Dad said with a small smile
I already knew the answer I said it anyway.
"Who?"
"Jake" Dad said expectingly

Once the guests had left I ran to dad's room closing the door behind me
"You're kidding me right?" I said practically screaming
"Geez Olivia it's late can we talk about this later?." Dad said startled
"No I want to know NOW" I said tired of all the lies tonight
"Fine fine calm down" Dad said sitting down patting a hand on the bed for me to sit down
"I know 6 months seem long but it's not a lot" He started "And Jakes a good kid he'll take care of you." He sighed
"But why him? of all people?" I said dramatically
"What's wrong with him?" Dad asked now questioning me "Did he do or say something to you"
"No just wondering why that's all" I lied
"Well he's been specially trained since he was 12, and he's trustworthy" He said shrugging
"So am I" I said with a frown
"Yeah but you're my little girl" Dad said smoothing my hair out "If anything happened to you I couldn't forgive myself"
"When do you leave?" I asked
"Tommorow morning" He replied
"Oh, you'll miss my birthday" I said reminding him
"I know and I send my deepest apologies." He said kissing the top of my head
"Is he staying here?" I asked
"Yes, it's a better way of keeping you safe" He said
" And you trust him that much?" Hinting the thing that was on my mind that could occur while he was gone. Not saying it will but I couldn't stop myself from thinking it.
"No but I trust you that much." He said with a serious look
I smiled at that and leaned into him strong embrace.
"I'll miss you." I mumbled smelling his scent for the last time
"I'll Miss you too Livy" He said frowning
After what seemed like hours of just talking and hugging I finally left his room and into my own changing out of my clothes and into my PJ's.
I crawled into my bed and stared at the ceiling specifically the chandelier that reflected off the moonlight from the windows.
I started humming a lullaby my mom used to sing to me as a kid when I had nightmares.
Soon after I was fast asleep.

In the morning I was unhappily awakened to pots banging and a loud TV.
"What the hell" I said sitting up rubbing my eyes
I stood up and walked towards my door exiting into the kitchen.
"Good morning sunshine" Said a familiar voice
"Dad"? I asked still to tired to realize who it really was
"Nope" Jake said
"Where is he?" I asked yawning and rubbing my eyes
"Gone" Jake said
"He didn't say goodbye" I said frowning
"Sorry princess" Jake said sarcastically
"What are you doing here?" I said with a scowl
"I live here for 6 months. Remember?" Jake said with a laugh that was meant to be making fun of me but I found it cute.
'Stop it Livy' I mentally said
"Oh" I replied
"Anyways you hungry?" Jake said standing over a pan with omelets on it after a long silence.
"I'll make something myself" I said getting my own pan
"Yeah have fun with that?" He said flipping his and walking away
I grabbed two eggs from the fridge and got a bowl. I cracked them but somehow managed to get the shell in the yolk. I sighed and just went along with it not really caring. I stirred it and set my fire on the stove on high.
I started cooking when I heard my phone beep so I ran to go get it. I returned back to a almost burnt omelet so I tried flipping it forgetting to spray the pan so it wouldn't stick.
"Shit" I said as the egg wouldn't flip
I then felt a warm pair of hands circle around my sides and grab the spatula from me. I turned around to see Jake with a smirk on his face.
"Trying to kill us so soon?" He said with that cute laugh again
"Shut up" I said with an annoyed look not noticing how close we were.
I guessed he noticed it too because he smirked again and stepped closer.
I looked away not wanting him to know I was blushing.
He then leaned in slowly making me think he was about to kiss me.
I slowly leaned in as we'll not sure of his change of actions.
But of course he stopped, stepped to the side of me and turned off fire.
"What the-" I said embarrassed and confused
"The fire was to high" He said casually as he walked away holding in laughter
I scoffed and went red as a tomato probably.
When he was out of the room I cleaned up the pan and utensils I used and just grabbed a bowl of cereal instead.
I was on the couch eating and watching television when I heard footsteps approach and a body stopping in front of me.
"I'm going out" Jake said looking me up and down
"Cool?" I said "Now move you're in my way." I said trying to see the TV
"Where are the keys" He said ignoring what I just said
"In my room where they'll stay" I said with a smile looking up at him
"Fine" He said as he walked off into the hallway.
"Fuck" I said knowing where he was going
I sprung up from the couch and sprinted to my room opening the door to see Jake going through my stuff
"Get out" I said with crossed arms
"Once I get the key I'll leave you alone" He said returning the arm gestures
"No my dad said I have the control over them and besides we're not supposed to leave unless necessary ." I said still crossing my arms
"So you're telling me, I'm stuck here with a snotty princess for 6 fucking months??" He asked making it sound like a bad thing he had to stay with me
"As a matter of fact yes, because I have to stay with a heartless jerk for 6 fucking months." I retorted back
We stood there for 5 minutes just glaring at each other until he finally left.
"And don't come into my room again" I yelled after him
For the rest of the day I stayed in my room not wanting to see him right now.
I decided a long hot bath would ease my tenses so I changed out of my clothes and put on my bath robe opening my door to see if the coast was clear.
When I didn't see him I tip-toed past his door and to the bathroom. I sighed in relief turned the door knob of the bathroom door revealing Jake. Not expecting to see him I screamed.
"Nice too see you too" He said stepping out.
Half naked might I add.
"Um cover up please?" I said covering my eyes
"Don't be such a prude" Jake laughed
"I'm not I just don't need to see that" I said defensively
"Why?, you know you want too" He said as I imagined him smirking
"In you're dreams" I said as I opened my eyes to step into the bathroom
I closed the door behind me and started the water abandoning the robe and stepping in. Once inside my body relaxed and I laid back enjoying its warm embrace.
That was until Jake barged in still half naked and with a cell phone.
"What the fuck Jake?!?" I screamed in anger as I covered myself with the bath curtain
"Oh calm down will you I've seen it all before" He said
"No I won't calm down until you get out. NOW" I yelled
"What do you want Pizza or Chinese?" He said ignoring me again for the 2nd time today
"I want you to leave." I said
"Fine Chinese it is" He said before dialing a number and walking out closing the door behind it.
Once he was gone I made sure to remember to lock to door next time.
"God I hate him" I said to to myself as I tried to relax again but was failing because I was blushing rapidly.
No guy has ever seen me naked before and even if Jake didn't see anything I'd like to keep it that way.
That was the 2nd time he made me blush in the last 8 hours he was here. And frankly I was tired of it so I'm gonna get him back now. After dinner I'll make him watch a movie with me so we'll end up most likely sitting near each other, and the rest will take its course.
I stepped out of the bathtub to dry myself off and wrapped a towel around my body tightly. I poked my head out of the bathroom making sure the coast was clear again before stepping out.
Once inside my room I picked out what I was going to wear. I didn't want to make it obvious I was trying so I decided on some distressed jean shorts, and a white crop top since it was still light outside. I straightened my naturally long chestnut colored hair and applied little makeup.
I walked outside of my from and into the living from to find Jake with a box of pizza in front of him watching TV.
"I thought you were ordering Chinese" I said breaking the silence
"Changed my mind" He said just now noticing me as I walked towards him but didn't sit down.
"What's with the outfit?" He said looking me up and down
"What do you mean?" I asked with my best innocent voice
"Nothing, never mind." He said quickly
I smirked in my victory. I was making him uncomfortable.
I finally sat down too close to him and started eating. The show we were watching was boring so I got up and disappeared into my room returning with a DVD.
"What's that?" He asked his eyes following me to the DVD player
"A movie, that show was stupid" I said simply shrugging
"What's it called?" He asked
"Shut up and watch it" I said rolling my eyes and making my way back to the couch.
The movie was 'clueless' one my all time favorites.
Halfway through it Jake spoke up and said "Now this is stupid."
I ignored his remark and paused it and turned to look at him.
"What do you suppose we do then?" I asked with a slight lust in my tone
"I don't know.." He said trailing off looking down at his hands.
I smirked again mentally congratulating myself for the 2nd victory.
" I say we play truth or dare" I said still staring at him
He finally looked back up and smirked.
"Not like that you pervert" I said scoffing
"How come, Are you scared?" He said teasing me
"No I'm not asshole. I'll go first then." I said confidently as I could but in the inside I was actually scared of what I might have to do.
"Truth or dare?" I asked with a smile
"Truth" He replied smirking
"How far have you gone" I barely said above a whisper
"Third base" He said like it was nothing
"You're turn princess, truth or dare?" He asked
"Dare" I said feeling brave tonight
He thought about it for awhile until I grew impatient since I was nervous.
"Ok I dare you to eat whip cream off of my chest" He said with a evil looking smile
"That's not that bad, It'll be easy" I reassured myself
Jake got up and went to the fridge getting the whipped cream and handed me it .
He was standing up to take off his shirt and turned around making me notice a scar along his backside. I waned to ask what it was but I couldn't get a good look at it.
Once he was situated on the couch I nervously took the can and sprayed some on his chest which was pretty nice looking by the way.
I wanted to make him uncomfortable since he made me do this excruciating dare. So I decided to spice it up a bit. Instead I straddled him along his waist keeping both hands on either side of him.
I heard a slight groan and a bit of a bulge coming on. I smirked in response and bent down to slowly drag the tip of my tongue down his torso stopping near his waist line.
I then hopped off of him and sat down normally.
"Didn't think you would actually do it to be honest" He said sitting back up both of us ignoring his bulging friend.
"Whatever, truth or dare?" I asked
"Both." He said challenging me
"How the fuck do you do both?" I asked
"Figure it out" He said sitting back into the couch still bluntly shirtless
"Fine, got it" I said remembering from earlier the scars on his back
"Shoot" He said
"Where are the scars on you're back from and I dare you to show me."
I said shifting in my seat
He didn't know I saw them earlier before since he was turned around.
He sat up and turned his back towards me.
I saw it and instantly gasped coming closer to get a better look.
His back was deeply bruised with scratches around it but those were a little healed.
"Who did that?" I asked wanting to touch it
"It's the past, you can touch it if you want too" He said briefly
I lightly dragged my fingers across it not wanting to hurt him.
He flinched when I passed over the bruise so I stopped and scooted backwards to my place on the couch.
"Sorry" I said quietly
"For what" He said placing his shirt back on and turned to faced me.
"You know...for that" I said quietly
"It's not you're fault Olivia." He said scrunching up his eyebrows
"Yeah but me being mean to you isn't going to make it better." I said looking at him
We stayed quiet for awhile until he cleared his throat
"Still want to play?" He asked
"Not really, I think I'm going to head to bed" I said standing up
"Me too" He said grabbing his shirt
I walked to my bedroom and stopped to turn around.
"Goodnight Jake" I said turning my knob and walking inside
"Goodnight Olivia" I heard through the door as I shut off the light.
