...April 24, 2012...
Batman has called us in for a mission in Metropolis. Apparently Joker and Harley, Livewire, Poison Ivy, Bizarro, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Killer Frost, the Terror Twins, and Silver Banshee have teamed up and are causing random chaos. Weird combination but they have for the reason just for attention and chaos. The Justice League is on a big mission in Australia. Batman is the only available leaguer at the moment.
The whole team is here with all the new members: Beast Boy, Tempest, Aquagirl, Troia, Batgirl, Lieutenant Marvel, and Sergeant Marvel.
We each get assigned a villain some in pairs. Nightwing, Robin, and I are taking on Harley and Joker. Though things don't always go to plan and we end up going against Silver Banshee along with the clowns. Robin ends up somewhere else, taking down extra thugs.
Dodging screams along with a bat and pistol, isn't fun.
Harley and I move to hit each other. She raises her bat as my electricity runs to my hands. The two of us freeze.
"Bolt! Move!" Nightwing shouts from far behind me, taking out Silver Banshee with a knock out gas pellet to make it to me.
But I can't, I'm frozen in place. Electricity cackles at my fingertips, threatening to electrocute the mad clowns but knowing I'm unable to.
"Finish her, Harls!" Joker shouts at her.
"I-I can't do it!" Harley weeps, dropping her bat. "I can't hurt our little girl!"
"She's not our little girl anymore, Harley. She's a traitor," Joker growls, pulling out a pocket knife and shoving Harley out of the way. "And traitor's get killed." He plunges the knife straight into my heart, causing my eyes to widen in pain and gasping for air.
"Bolt!" Nightwing shrieks, quickly running over.
Joker repeatedly begins to stab the knife into my stomach with his famous wicked laugh. Nightwing arrives, delivering a punch to Joker's face so hard that he flew ten feet away, knocking him out. I crumple to the ground, holding my wound. The knife Joker was holding clatters to the ground beside me.
Harley falls to the ground crying into her hands. "No..."
Nightwing immediately bends down, bringing my head into his lap and taking off his mask. "No... No. No! Aura, please... Stay with me..."
I suppress a groan of pain and tilt my head to look up into his face, trying to contain the slight shaking of my body. "Richy..." His eyes are glazed over, each tear leaving a trail down his cheek. He sniffles as he looks down at me. "Richy..."
"Don't talk, I've contacted Miss Martian, e-everyone is coming to help as s-soon as possible. Please, hang on. We're going t-to get you better. E-everything is going to be okay."
A few tears stream down my cheeks from the pain. "Richy..." I reach up and cup his cheek, and he instantly covers my hand with his own, leaning into my touch.
"No, p-please, stay with me..." He wipes away a few tears with his arm. "We promised each other we'd always be together t-to grow old together..."
I close my eyes slowly and reopen them, staring deep into his cornflower blue eyes. "I... love you..."
"I-I love you too! Please, stay with me!" he begs. "Miss M and the others will be here soon!"
"Nightwing! Bolt!" Miss M cries out, rushing up to the two of us with Artemis and Robin right behind her. She gasps upon arrival. "No... Bolt..." She kneels down on my other side, Robin right beside her.
The three already know this is the end. Any sudden movements will just cause me more pain.
I glance at the two, giving a small nod to them. "I'm sorry..."
"No, Aura..." Artemis whispers, kneeling down beside the other side of Megan.
Everyone else arrives, and Wally sits next to Richy and Conner on the other side. Tears blur everyone's vision.
"Sis, no..." Wally cries, grasping one of my hands.
"There has to be something we can do!" Richy pleads, looking at the others.
"Richy, it's... too late for... me..." I groan, letting out a bloody cough.
"Don't say that!"
I look around at the people I call family, the small portion of the large family that I've come to know over the years. "Please take care of each... other..." I groan. "You all are my family. I love all of you... My time has come... I'm sorry..."
"Big sis, please don't!" Robin exclaims, tears rolling down his cheeks.
I smile up at Jason, moving my hand to his cheek and wiping away his tears. "It's gonna be okay, little Jaybird... You take g-good care of Richy, okay?"
He sniffles and nods his head. "I promise."
"Megan, Conner, you two will always be my best friends... Artemis, I will always see you as my sister... And Wally, tell mom and dad I love them too."
"I-I will."
"Tell e-everyone else... I l-love them too and I'm s-sorry," I wince.
Richy's tears begin to splatter onto my face and he clutches me closer to his chest. "Please... I... love you... Nothing will ever be the same without you!"
I once again cup his cheek, giving his cheek a light kiss. "And I love you, now you listen to me Richard John Grayson." I cough. "You will not let my death..." I watch his expression shift uncomfortably at the word. "...make things any different." I feel my body begin to fade away.
"W-what's happening?!" Wally shouts.
"No! You can't just disappear!" Artemis shouts, clutching my arm and it disappears beneath her grasp.
"Looks like... it's time to go..." I sigh.
"No!" Richy yells, holding me close. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry. Please... I love you..."
"Sis..." Wally sniffles.
My body begins to disappear as yellow bolts of electricity, spreading out in many different directions. Nightwing gives her a final kiss goodbye as her body completely disintegrates, leaving him empty handed. The only sound filling the empty street are loud sobs of distress, anger, and regret. The loudest sound being the loud scream from Nightwing.

The funeral for Aura will be held in a week on Saturday, when every league and team member can be present. At the moment, Nightwing, who's completely out of uniform and in his civvies, is sitting on the edge of the cliff on the mountain, looking at the moon like always he used to do with Aura.
"Aura, I'm sorry I couldn't save you..." He looks up at the almost full moon in the distance. He sighs before he sings out a few verses of a song. "At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself talking to the moon, trying to get to you." His words become choppy and almost inaudible as he sniffles, holding back tears. "In h-hopes you're on the other side talking to me too or am I a fool who sits alone talking to the moon..." Once again he lets out a shaky sigh, wiping away a tear from his cheek. "I miss you..."
A few moments of silence go by before it's interrupted.
"I thought I'd find you here," comes a voice from behind. Dick doesn't turn around as his best friend walks up and sits beside him. "This was her favorite spot."
Dick responds by leaning against Wally's shoulder. "I miss her."
"I do too. She was my little sister," the red head sighs, leaning his head atop his friend's. "We all miss her."
"How'd your parents take it?"
"They're... devastated... The house just feels so... empty without her."
"I'm gonna go away for awhile," Dick mutters. "I need some time to myself."
"I understand. I was planning on taking a trip with Artemis to get away from the crime fighting for awhile. All of us are hurt over this. Megan was her best girl friend. She was my sister. Your girlfriend. Garfield, Artemis, and Jason's sister. Conner's best friend."
"I still can't believe she's gone..." Dick weeps.
"Nor can I..."
The two lean on each other as they let out their remaining tears.
