“Can I kiss you?” you asked, not
for the first time.
“No,” I laughed but not moving
a single inch even though you
moved closer to me.
“Just once?” you pouted playfully
holding my face in your hands
and moving even closer toward
me, “please?”
I shook my head a little and
smiled, but that didn’t stop
you, and once your lips touched
mine, it didn’t stop me either.
And it was weird and awkward
and didn't last for very long,
and yet, not even an hour later,
it happened once again.
Gee, how romantic.
