It's now September..
And Im in the airport getting ready to go to New York. Karen, Kassie, Kameron and Kyle all came with me to say one last goodbye.
"Are you excited?" Kameron says looking at me
"Yeah I am. I know you are excited for me to leave to Kameron."
"No I will actually miss you."
Wait.. What?
"Really?" I say looking over at her in disbelief
"Yeah. I just hope when you get to college you get a better fashion sense."
There's the Kameron I know.
And kinda love..
"Well thanks. I'll miss all of you."
"Kayla?" Says Kassie tapping my leg.
"Yeah?" I say looking down.
"I'll miss you a whole alot" she says with tears forming in her eyes.
"Aww Kassie ill miss you to. Don't worry I'll be back for holiday."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
"Your flight leaves in 40 minutes" says Karen
"Yeah.. I guess I'll just sit here intill im ready."
"We love you Kayla and we all will miss you." Says Karen
"Yeah.. I love you all to." I say giving them one last hug.
"Here Kay" says Kyle.
"What's this?" I say looking down.
"It's one of my guitar pick. I made it into a necklace." He says looking down.
"Awww thank you Kyle. This is really sweet." I says hugging him
"I'll miss you Kay." He says moving his blonde side bangs out if his eyes.
"I'll miss you to."
After me and Kyle hug Karen and my siblings leave. And I just sit here and think intill my flight is ready to take off. I wonder if I'll have fun at college? I mean that's not my goal but at the same time it is. I'll be focusing on my study's.
"Flight 18" says a women on the intercom
"That's me." I say to myself.
Ask I'm walking up to my flight I see the guy who was starring at me in the ice cream shop.. He looks lost.
"Uh hey." I say walking over to him
He stares at me and freezes.
"It's okay I don't bite." I laugh
He still stares at me. I guess that wasn't funny.
"are you looking for you flight?" I say slowly
"Um.. Yeah I'm looking for flight 18. Sorry I was starring.. It's just-
"It's okay. Flight 18 is over here follow me, okay?"
"Okay." He says rolling his bag behind me.
"Here it is Flight 18." I say looking at him.
"Thanks." He says with a small smile.
"Your welcome." I say as we get on the plane. "What seat are you sitting in?"
"B-2" he says looking around
"I sit in B-4"
"Oh." He says looking down
"But maybe I can ask the person sitting in B-3 can I switch."
"That would be nice" he smiles
"Okay cool."
As we make our way to Our seats we notice a old man is sitting in B-3
"Um.. sir?" I ask
No budge
"Sir." I say a little louder
"Uh what.. Who's there?!" He wakes up
"Um do you mind if I switch seats with you."
"Yeah okay" he says getting up moving past me.
As me and the guy from the ice cream shop sits down it seems to get awkward.
"So.. NYU?" He asks
"Yeah... You?" I says looking at him
"Yeah.."
"You never told me your name" he says
"Oh sorry. It's Kayla"
"Nice to meet you Kayla. I'm Jamson"
"Nice to meet you." I say and he shakes me hand.
"Where are you from?" I ask
"Utah"
"Oh cool."
"You?"
"Florida"
"Nice. I've never been."
"You should really go it's alot like California" I smile
"Yeah.. I went to California for vacation this summer with my dad."
"Oh cool."
"I saw you in the icecream shop." He says
"Oh.. I saw you to."
"I'm sorry for starring at you." He laughs
"It's totally okay." I smile.
"So is this your first time gong to New York." I ask
"No I lived there when I was four.. But we had to move back to Utah." He says looking down.
"Why?"
"I mom was with some dude at the time.. And um.. Later she died."
"I'm sorry I asked."
"No it's okay."
"Want some cheese squares?" He says reaching into his pocket pulling out a packet of 'Cheese-It"
"Yeah I love those." I didn't know they were called that though." I laugh.
"That's what I called then ever since I was a kid" he laughs.
Then I notice he has the word "Freedom" tattooed on his arm in German
"Your German?" I ask stuffing my mouth with cheese squares.
"My dad is part German."
"So how many tattoos do you have?"
"About 14" Jamson says eating more cheese squares.
"Oh cool."
"Do you have any?" Jamson asks looking at me
"Um.. No. But it would be cool to get one."
"Where do you want one?"
"On my neck."
Jamson just stops and looks at me.
"I'm kidding!" I laugh
"Oh. But that would be cool. Like hamster tattooed on your heck. It could be a cute way of saying Gangster."
I burst out laughing. Me and Jamson talk all night about Tattoos, cheese squares and what we are going to do at college. By 3:00am I start to feel sleepy.
"Are you tired?" He ask looking worried.
"Yeah." I say leaning back.
"Okay good-
Then he stops in the middle if his sentence.
"You have crumbs in your hair."
"Oh thanks" I say wiping then out.
And then we both fall asleep.
