Shit! Brace thought as she climbed off the back of Lex's bike, she leaned over and gave him a quick peck and ran for the Library. She hated being late, even if she have a really good reason... and down time with Lex was a real good reason. Shaking herself out of it, Focus Brace you need to be ready for this bio-chem mid-term!
Opening the door Brace walked in just as her phone went off indicating she had a new text message. Smiling thinking the text was from Lex as she walked into the library looking for her group she pulled her phone out to check the message, only to see it was from an unknown sender. Since it wasn't Lex and she had just spotted her group she opted to not worry about it, putting her phone on silent joined the group to get ready for her mid-term. Damn, as she caught sight of Liam she had forgotten that Liam was part of the study group as well, hmmm this couldn't be anymore awkward right now. Well there was no help for it now, she was just going to have to suck it up and move past the embarrassment. Liam seemed more than accepting of switching back into their roll of just friends, taking part in the group discussions and helping Brace study sections that she had issues with. For that she was grateful, she didn't know how she would explain Lex to him, hell she couldn't explain Lex to herself let alone an outside party.
After 3 hours of studying the group finally called a halt to the studying, agreeing to meet up early on Monday morning to refresh before the afternoon mid-term, Brace pulled her phone from her pocket and text Lex that she was ready to go, he was quick to respond he would be 5 minutes so she decided to check her other messages while she waited. There was one from Topaz and then then several from an unknown sender. Just seeing them made her stomach clench, suspecting before even opening them who they were from.
"Did you have fun last night?"
"Aren't you the little whore, coming home with one man and having the other arrive and stay the night."
"Is this what Vice's memory is worth to you?"
"It isn't like you were at the funeral crying over the accident were you?"
Brace shuddered, why couldn't the past stay buried. She just wanted to move forward with her life and it finally looked like Lex was on the same page, and now here comes this crazy shit again. That is how Lex found her, glaring down at her phone.
"Brace, is everything alright?
"No, more text messages from the nutjob"
"What?" Lex said putting down the kickstand and taking the phone from her.
"Shit! How does whoever this is keep getting your number?"
"I don't know but I am getting tired of this bullshit!"
"I know baby" Lex said with a sigh as he pulled her into his arms for a reassuring hug.
"Lets just get to Jake's, he said he is making dinner." Brace said after absorbing some of Lex's strength.
Lex gave her a lingering kiss, and grabbed the helmets from his bike, handing her the second one,
"Let's stop at the police station so Detective Martinez can take copies of the latest messages and we can avoid wasting time having her come out again." Brace said as she got on the bike and they were quickly speeding down the road.
Detective Martinez was more than happy to take copies of the messages, not mentioning that this time the sender had messed up, as she didn't want to give them false hope of catching the person but with the mention of the funeral the person sending has slipped up as they clearly had been at the funeral, and since it was no surprise what the trial was about in regards to Mr. Clarke the number of people that attended the funeral was actually small, so should finally be a lead. Taking less than 20 minutes there, they were quickly back on the road and heading for Brace's childhood home.
As the pulled into the drive Brace took note that Topaz's car was in the driveway.
"Topaz is here too" Brace remarked as they walked up the path to the back door.
As it was her family home Brace didn't think about knocking just opened the door and walked in only to spin around quickly in her haste to get back out the door fast, crashing into Lex in her haste.
"What are you doing" Lex said as he grasped her shoulders looking past her to see Topaz scooting off the counter where Jake had been snuggled between her thighs, pulling down on the too short t-shirt of Jake's that she was wearing she mumbled,
"I'm just going to go and get dressed" and made a quick exit to Jake's room
Lex couldn't help but smile as Brace kept her face buried in his chest with his arms around her, mortified by what she had walked in on. Lex couldn't resist ribbing Jake,
"I hope that wasn't the dinner that you made for all of us to eat?"
Jake chuckles, "No the steaks are marinating in the fridge for us to grill and Topaz already got the salad ready. We were just washing some potatoes for baking, when we ahhh..." Jake turned red and rubbed the back of his neck.
From Lex's chest he heard, "Jesus lets not talk about this and from now on we will knock before entering the house."
"Sounds perfect" was Jake's reply.
Topaz quickly joined them back in the kitchen, the guys grabbed some beer, heading out on the deck to grill the steaks while the girls started in on the potatoes, getting the table set and drinks ready for dinner. Brace couldn't stand the silence any longer,
"So we are good here right?"
Topaz smiled, realizing that Brace wasn't upset about her being with her brother, "yup we are all good!"
"However, just be aware we can't share girly sex talk moments cause you know, that would be gross since you are banging my brother."
Laughing Topaz said, "Got it!"
The guys entered from the deck bringing in their grilled master pieces to find the girls giggling together. Lex made his way to Brace's side, pulling her to him for a kiss that was meant to be quick and sweet but quickly took her breath away, asked
"What are you two ladies giggling about?"
Smiling Brace replied, "The fact that we can't discuss our sex lives with each other this time around without it being creepy."
Jake made a face, "Yeah, don't do that!"
They ate lunch in companionable chatter, talking about their general plans for the week as well as more detailed plans for the bike rally that was happening the following weekend that they always attend. They spent the rest of the weekend just enjoying being lazy and spending time with each other, taking the bikes for a day trip but all too soon the weekend came to an end and Brace found herself being woken by her alarm clock in her dorm room to get ready for her mid-term that afternoon.
Smiling, she felt the warm heat given off by the gorgeous male sharing her bed, or not really sharing more like taking over her bed as he snored softly into the pillows. It was enough to make her not want to get out of bed, but she knew she need to ace this mid-term to ensure she could get into the second terms courses. Getting slowly out of bed to not disturb Lex as he slept she headed to the shower, turning the hot water on and leaning against the wall and letting the water hit her back and slide off as she replayed some of the steamier scenes from the past couple of days. She suddenly felt cool air hit her back as she glances over her shoulder to find Lex getting in the shower with her.
"I wanted to make sure you got your back washed properly"
"Did you now?" Brace said with an enticing smile at him
As he reached for the loofa and body wash he brought the cloth around to Brace's front swirling the cloth all over her breasts, making sure to take time to gently pull on her nipples and cupping and testing the weightiness of her breast in his hands.
"Ummm Lex, that isn't my back!"
"Hmmm imagine that" he said as he turned her around in place and gave her a heated kiss as he backed her up against the back of the shower.
A half hour later Brace made another mad dash for the Library to avoid being late for study group again, she decided that as Lex seemed to enjoy taking his time on certain things she was going to have to start setting her alarm an hour earlier just to ensure she could make it on time, as there was no way in hell she was going to curb all the fun time Lex and her were having together.
