Chapter 10 - Give Him A Chance.
" That is such an awesome movie ! " I exclaimed.
Kate sniffed and smiled.
" I know right , " she agreed and I sighed.
" So , time for counselling ? " She asked and I groaned.
" Aren't you hungry ? " I asked back.
" Food can wait . " She smirked and I concede defeat.
Kate switched on the lights and we covered ourselves with the duvet.
" So , do you like this guy ? "
I looked at Kate and then the floor and then at Kate back.
She looked at me patiently and I frowned.
" I'm not ready , " I blurt it out.
Kate shook her head and sighed.
" Not ready for what Sapphire ? It's all history. Who knows Kennan is not like the others. Who knows he's not what he seems like ? " Kate asked and I looked down to my lap.
" You have to be ready to love again Sapph. It's now or never , "
Kate squeezed my hand and nudged me gently.
" Give him a chance. "
" But he doesn't even like me , " I protest.
" Wow , you're blind , " Kate chuckled and I gave her a confused look.
She uncovered herself and make her way to my Macbook.
She logged into her Twitter and showed me Kennan's tweets.
" This girl. She's unique. One of a kind. Mesmerizing. There's sorrow in her every smile. People call her a Misfit but she's not one. "

Kate winked and left my room.
I shut the laptop and followed her down.
Mum was in the kitchen baking while my dad was busy playing with the toddler.
Belinda was nowhere to be seen.
" Muuum ! I'm hungry , " I whined and she smiled.
" There's a batch of cookies in the oven. They're freshly baked , " she said and I grinned.
I kissed her right cheek and took the batch of cookies out from the oven and start gobbling them down.
" Slow down there Sapph. " Kate said .
She grabbed a handful of cookies and joined me.
I looked at her and we broke into laughter.
" Girls , girls , " my mum chuckled and we giggled.

" That's what best friends are for , " she replied and I hugged her.
" Goodnight babe , " she wished before walking towards her car.
I waved at her one last time and entered the house.
" Sapph ! There's a phone call
for you , " mum yelled and I speed-walked to the phone's direction.
" Hello ? "
" Hey , Sapphire ? " the all too familliar voice asked.
" Umm , Kennan ? " I asked back and he cleared his throat.
" Yea , it's me , " he answered .
" Sapphire , I bought 2 movie tickets for tomorrow night . My big brother was supposed to follow but he had some last minute plans - "
" You're asking me out ? " I cut him off.
" What ? " he asked .
" I said ' You're asking me out ? ' " I repeated.
" Well , kinda' . Yea , " he said and I chuckled.
" Sure "
