Silas knew that if it came down to it, her parents would force the blame onto her. Three days after her eighteenth birthday, her assumptions were proved to be true. After decades, the Ark's council finally unraveled the deep secrets of the Silas family. When they came to arrest her parents, they pushed all the blame onto their daughter. Unlucky for her, the guards found her in a restricted part of the Ark, stealing substances that her parents forced her to.
As she sat in the Chancellor's office, wanting nothing more to spew out the truth, she couldn't. Her mind wouldn't let her. The room was silent as she awaited her punishment to be laid out on the table. But before she could be sucked into the never-ending oblivion, a trigger-happy janitor stumbled into the room.
