emerald eyes watch you silently
When you left, you took all of
the color from my eyes.
These eyes, the ones you spoke
your love of by tongue,
you let your hands lap greedily
at the specks and the rivets,
the sage and the burgundy that laid within.
You stole the emerald and
replaced it with stone quarry lies.
It was what you always wanted.
To hold my eyes.
You said so many times they were so catching.
