I decided to take a shower.
When I looked in the mirror, even I gasped. There was already a large bruise forming, and it stung. I quickly got into the shower, not wanting to look at the ugly mark any longer.
I spent longer than necessary, getting lost in my thoughts before actually cleaning my body and washing my hair. But, when I got out, Liam was already there. He was in my bed, texting someone.
"Who are you texting?" I wondered, laying down next to him.
"Luke. I guess they're engaged now." Liam informed me.
"Oh." My best friend didn't tell me that he got engaged? It hurt a little bit, but it didn't really matter I guess.
"Yeah." He said.
"How's your face?" He asked, looking at the mark on it. I shrugged. It wasn't that bad.
"It stings a little, but it's fine."
"I'll go get you some Tylenol." He said, getting up and leaving the room. He returned a few minutes later with a glass of water and two painkillers. I felt a little bad, because he always did so much for me.
"Thanks." I smiled, quickly taking them.
"Liam, you're so like, nice to me. You really don't have to do all these things for me." I sighed. He studied my face for a moment before taking my hands in his.
He kissed my forehead.
"I want to."
He smiled at me warmly.
