Chapter Twenty Two
Michael Stevenson (Tyga)
Shit shit shit. Everything had messed up. Two hours ago Dom and his crew were headed to where they thought Chance was to take that nigga out, but something had went wrong, someone had snitched again, and Chance wasn't there.
Then Dom had gotten a call from Melanie, crying and screaming about being kidnapped. How had Chance found out where she was hiding out?
"Everything's so messed up right now." I groaned and smashed my fist into the steering wheel, making a big ass honk.
How had something gone wrong, again?! Our plan was bulletproof, but still Chance was one step ahead. How? I had no idea. Dom was texting and calling me every other second, crying about Melanie. I wasn’t answering though, I was waiting for the ransom call from Chance I knew was coming. My phone vibrated from the passenger seat, and I looked over at it. It was a blocked number, so I picked it up quickly.
"Yo."
Chance's ugly ass laugh filled my ear, he was making fun of me. Damn, I really needed to murk this nigga now.
"Wassup Michael? You tried to get me again young blood? I thought you were smarter than that! If you weren't so stupid I would've recruited you to my team, but it's too late. You can't take me out nigga, I'm GOD IN THESE STREETS NIGGA." Chance barked in my ear and I had to pull the phone away from my ear. Did this nigga really believe he was God? This nigga sounded like Kanye West when he was on his Yeezus shit.
"I didn't call to talk though, I was calling to let you know I got your bitch. What happened to that little mixed thing you were with? I like her better personally, this Spanish one talks too much." Chance just kept taunting me, and there was nothing I could do, and that was killing me.
"Michael you there? You want this tamale or can I have her? My team would run through in a heartbeat." He laughed and I could feel the body temperature rising and rising.
"Where she at?" I finally asked.
“Brooklyn Street, come get her before 12, or else this bitch is burning up with her in it. Oh and Michael, no funny shit, or else I'm wasting you and the broad.”
~
There was only one building on Brooklyn Street, so I knew exactly where Melanie was. Damn man, I didn't want to be out here right now, the only reason I was doing this was because of Dom.
When I had met Chance I honestly didn't know what I was up against, but now that I knew, this nigga wasn't worth it.
"Shit man." I mumbled to myself as I parked my car on the side of the road and locked it behind me. I didn't know if I wanted to bring a gun, but Dom had always told me to stay prepared for anything, so I was going to.
I made sure the safety was on before I tucked the small handgun into the inside cuff of my jeans and hopped out the car. I made sure to say a prayer as I walked to the back entrance of the warehouse.
"Yo Melanie!" My voice echoed as I searched for her around the dark room. I needed a light or something, I wasn't liking this dark shit.
"Michael?!" Melanie’s voice cracked from somewhere in the warehouse, but I couldn’t even see her.
“Listen up for me babygirl, are you alone?” I whispered loudly enough so she could hear me.
“Yes, but they’re gonna come back, oh my God Michael I’m so scared.” Melanie cried and I sighed out her in relief, we were alone for at least a few minutes.
I quickly pulled my phone out and turned on the flashlight, now I could finally see. I ran into the other room where Melanie was in a corner strapped to a chair with rope. These niggas were amateurs, cause the ropes were slack and she could’ve escaped if she knew how, and her mouth wasn’t even covered. Then they left her alone? Hell nah.
I ran over to Melanie and untied the dirty ropes and threw them aside.
“Oh my God I was so scared Michael.” She cried and threw her arms around me. She stunk, and she had dried blood all over her, what had they done to her?
“Come on, we’ll talk later. We gotta go, this bitch is gonna blow." I dragged Melanie out of the building and we ran to my car as fast as we could, but Melanie was limping so it was tough.
"Michael I need to talk to my papi, they said they're gonna take out my whole family." Melanie cried once I started driving my car away from the building. I didn't want to be anywhere around the building when it was gonna blow.
"Here use my phone."
The minute I looked down at my jeans to see where my phone was, a large BOOM echoed into the car. The whole warehouse was in flames, and it looked like it was just waiting to crash down.
"Michael! What's all this about?! I'm so scared!" Melanie started to ball now, and she was crying into her hands.
I wasn't down for that crying shit, not right now. I was so stressed, and I felt like I wasn't in charge of things, and that pissed me off. Man, when I found out who snitched, I wasn't gonna have any mercy.
When we got far enough from the warehouse that I couldn't see the flames I gave Melanie my phone.
"Call your pops." I ordered and Melanie stopped crying just long enough to dial her dads number.
"Papi! I'm so scared, they came to the apartment and knocked down the door and all these guys in mask grabbed me and took me to a warehouse. I don't know their names, but some guy said they're working for Chance, and he's gonna take out our familia!" Here comes the tears again. I was paying attention to Melanie's words though, and listening for any clues. Melanie hadn't said anything to anyone about her location, so how had Chance and his goons found out? Shit just wasn't adding up.
"Papi wants to talk to you." She mumbled and passed the iPhone to me. I put it in between my shoulder and ear and listened to what Dom was telling me.
"Yo Dom, I don't know what happened, but Melanie is spooked and I don't know where to put her."
"I know Michael, I don't know what happened either. One minute my men are going into the warehouse, the next minute it's blown up. I lost fifteen of my best workers! I need you to take Melanie out of the country until this is over. Chance is gonna pay, I need to see blood."
Melanie wanted me to take her out of the country? Where were we gonna go? Canada?
"How am I gonna take her out of the country in such short notice? I need her passport and all that shit!" I exclaimed. I couldn't just leave the country in an hour.
"Adios mio! Melanie doesn't have a passport, she was born in El Salvador. Michael do you trust me?" Dom questioned, and as soon as those words came out of his mouth, I knew I was done for.
"Yeah Dom I do."
"Alright Michael, head over to City Hall, I have a worker there. I'll tell you what to do next."
"City Hall? For what Dom?"
"My daughter's gonna become legal tonight Michael, you're gonna marry her."
