Lyric's Point Of View
"You like him don't you." Mom walked into my room. I must of jumped because she laughed at me a bit.
"K first, don't scare me like that. And second, maybe a little bit." I blushed.
"Or a lot."
"Ok mom, I like him a lot. But it doesn't matter. He doesn't like me back."
"You don't know that!" She yelled before leaving my room.
"Yes I do!" I yelled after her. I didn't hear a response so I just shut my door, blasted my moms music and started working on a new painting of a dinosaur. I don't know why but I was just in that mood. I was well into the painting when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. It was a text from Ricky.

Sure. Let me just clean up first.

Quickly, I changed into clothes that didn't have paint on them and ran out side to my car.

"Hey Lyric! Over here!" I heard Ricky's voice over by the lake. I followed it and when I got to the lake Ricky had a whole romantic picnic set up.
"What's all this?" I asked after we hugged.
"It's my promise. My promise to you that I will always keep you safe, protect you, love you." He took my hand. "Look, I know you told me a few days ago that your not ready for a boyfriend, but I really like you Lyric, and I was hoping maybe, you would be my girlfriend?" My heart started racing ten times faster than it should. Ricky was my first real crush. He made me happy and I got actual full on butterflies in my stomach when he was around.
"Ricky, of course I will!" He smiled and we hugged. He picked me up and started spinning me around. It was amazing. I've never liked anyone as much as I like Ricky.
"I'm going to help you through everything. I promise." He set me down and we sat on the blanket.
"Thank you so much." I rested my head on his shoulder and we spent the rest of the night watching the moon on the lake.
