"Run! Run away Ashlynn! Run!" Taehyung yelled at me. But I don't want to leave him behind. My heart is sinking as I turned around not wanting to leave him behind.
"Please! Save yourself! Save your life!" He yelled again, but leaving my best friend behind in the hand of the man whose holding a gun was not in my mind. I don't want to leave him suffering, struggling and fighting for his life. What if that man will kill him? I cannot think properly on what to do anymore.
Today was the first day of spring and my first time to be back in Seoul since I was 10 years old. The wind blows in my skin and it felt cold. The spring weather hasn't changed a bit, it's still as breezy as it was 8 years ago. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in, allowing the city air to fill me as I sat on the park bench. I jolted in surprise when someone hugged me from behind. I turned around to find a tall and handsome idiot giving me a boxy smile.
"Ahhh Taehyung-ah...it's you!!" I exclaimed. "A simple 'annyeong' would have sufficed, you know. I almost died!!" I said as I pulled him into a proper bear hug.
Tae was an old friend of mine from my elementary years. He hasn't changed at all, seeing and hugging him made me forget my regrets of coming back to Seoul. Taehyung let go from the hug and asked me if how have I been.
"You should have informed me before you landed. I would have come to the airport to pick you up, you know." He said as he sat down beside me.
"I don't want to bother you. I know you are busy." I replied.
"What do you mean by you don't wanna bother me? If you called, I would have came fast as lightning. You know best friends have each others backs." Taehyung told me while putting his arm around my shoulder. I eyed him suspiciously.
"Tell me, do you have a crush on me?" I asked nudging his side. I looked at him, waiting for a response. He shrugged his shoulders at me and grabbed my arm rushing to an ice cream stand. The temperature was only 27 degrees Celsius. We both ordered ice cream and sat down and talked.
"This ice cream reminds me of the time we first met." I said remembering how I was playing tag with my friends at the park when suddenly a boy pushed me from my back, causing me to fall on my hands and knees. I had scraped then so I started crying on the floor. That's when I met Taehyung. He ran to me and helped me. He talked to me that day at the park and asked me if I was okay and then he bought me an ice cream. We've been best friends since that day. Little did he know, everyday I've been with him, my crush on him had been growing.
"Should I get the usual flavor? Strawberry for you and double chocolate for me?" He asked me. I nodded to show my approval. Gosh, he still remembered. After all those years.
Afterwards, we finally sat down. I stared at him as he was talking to me. His eyes had caught my attention. I keep on staring on his eyes and I was blank at the moment, realizing my strawberry ice cream was already melting.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"I'm fine." I said as I nodded.
He smiled back at me with his adorable boxy smile. "We should get going now it's getting dark." Taehyung told me making me snap back into reality again.
While we were walking home the weather temperature started to drop. I was getting cold and started to shiver. Taehyung had obviously noticed. "Here, take my jacket." Taehyung said. He didn't even let me respond and put the jacket on my shoulders. I shouldn't have wore a dress. He held me making sure I wouldn't fell cold anymore. Butterflies in my stomach were going crazy. I wasn't feeling cold anymore. But, I had a feeling I was being watched. I turned my head around and I saw a man in a black hoodie, covering his face. I stopped in my tracks and looked at the guy not too far away from us. The guy lifted his head and looked at me with a smirk.
"Taehyung" I said with my voice trembling as I nudged Taehyung and point at the man I saw.
"Taehyung, bro... Whaddup dude?" The guy called. "I don't see you at the club nowadays. Looks like you got yourself a pretty looking girlfriend...damn hot and sexy.." Said the dimpled guy who appeared to be Tae's friend. But before he could complete his flirtatious sentence, someone put his arms around his neck.
"Don't move! Gimme all the cash you have or I'll kill him!" He was holding a gun that he pulled out from nowhere against Tae's friend's head. Tae's friend didn't move and was not able to defend himself.
"Run!" Taehyung shouted which made me snapped back to the current situation.
I freaked out while looking at Taehyung, running forward to save his friend. Taehyung signaled me to run but I couldn't. I don't want to leave him! He keep on yelling at me to run and that gives me the hint to run already. I heard yelling and groaning behind me, Taehyung and that armed guy were now fighting.
I don't know what to do anymore. My tears keep on falling thinking about Taehyung. What if that man will trigger the gun to him? I keep on running and I think I am lost already. My phone was already dead to call for a help.
"Do you need help miss?" A man suddenly said. I don't know where he came from but he suddenly appeared from nowhere.
"Yes yes ma-my friend he-he is over the-there and these guys were hitting this guy and then he started to hit the guy and then he told me t-" before I could finish, the man put his hand on my mouth.
"I understand." He pointed his car. "I will drive you home or if you want, to the police station." He said.
I quickly replied a big "YES" and got inside his car. I thought I can trust this man. What I did right there was one of my worst mistakes cause I didn't even know this person. I was too worried in the car that I didn't realize the guy had pulled a syringe out of his back pocket.
"Ashlynn!" I heard Taehyung called my name in the distance. I jumped out of the car but when I did, the guy injected the syringe on my neck. My vision was getting blurry. I could see Taehyung running in the distance towards me but he couldn't reach at any moment because the guy threw me in the back of his car and then started driving away.
"Ashlynn!!!" I heard those words get quieter and quieter from Taehyung's mouth from afar.
