Chapter 8: Luke Alert
Natalie's POV
He stumbled in and went to the last seat. All eyes were on him.
"Mr. Styles, why are you so late? And where's your late pass slip?" Mr. Lakefield asked.
"I was ditching, I'm so sorry" he said sarcastically.
"Where were you? And where's your late pass slip?" Mr. Lakefield said getting angry.
"I don't have the damn slip!! And where I was is none of your fuckin' business!!" he snapped.
"Then get out" Mr. Lakefield yelled back.
"What the...? You can't-" Harry started but was cut off by Mr. Lakefield saying, "I can and I will. Now get out"
"Fine" he yelled and stated walking- actually the right word is stumbling- towards the door. I looked all around me and saw that the girls were practically undressing Harry by their eyes. I was busy thinking about the girls and Harry that I didn't notice him standing beside me.
"You're a fuckin' bastard, you know that?" Harry shouted/snapped. I jumped at his raspy voice being so close to me. And with the luck that I had, he noticed it. "Sorry, love, I didn't mean to scare you. Wait... You're the one that helped me in the morning, right?" I just nodded in response.
"Mr. Styles, get out of the class. RIGHT NOW!!!" Mr. Lakefield shouted.
"See ya later, babe" he said and winked at me. 'He's definitely drunk. He couldn't even recognise me. That's a good thing.... I guess' I thought to myself. Harry went out into the corridor and stood there for a minute. 'Maybe he's thinking of where to go.' He proved me right by walking again after a few minutes.
"Okay, class, back to work" Mr. Lakefield said while clapping his hands twice.
"Yeah. Lets do it" I said and looked at the sum that I had been trying to do.

"So how was Maths?" Zack asked me.
"It was good until someone came and ruined it" I replied.
"I assume that 'someone' was Harry" he said while air quoting someone.
"Yea. He was drunk... He talked to me but couldn't recognise me"
"What did Mr. Lakefield do?"
"Thankfully, he sent him out of class" I said. We reached our lockers and took out the books that we needed. I had Dramatics and Zack had Geography"
"Should I come with you?"
"Nah, it's cool. I'll go. You'll anyways get late if you leave me"
"Ok then. Talk to you later. Bye"
"Bye" I said and started walking towards my class. I was getting bored so I took out my phone and went on twitter. I was busy checking the tweets that I didn't see Luke walking in front of me and so I bashed into into him with the result of the both of us falling.
"I'm soo sorry... I didn't see you" I said to him.
"It's ok. Even I wasn't" he replied calmly. 'How was he so calm? Why wasn't he shouting at me to look where I walk?' I questioned myself. I started picking up the books hunch had fallen from my arms when I crashed into him and, surprisingly, he helped me up.
"Thanks" I said as he gave me one of my books which had fallen. "And sorry. Again"
"Stop apologising. It wasn't only your fault, okay? I also wasn't looking" he replied.
"Okay. I'm gonna go now. I'm late for class" I said and left for my classroom before he could answer. As I was late, the only seat I could find was the last one so I went and sat there.
"So girls and boys, I'm giving you a script. Read it carefully. We will be playing this act for the competition against Richmond High" Just then Luke entered the class.
"Mr. Adams, you can have a seat with Ms. Saunders" the teacher said. What the hell? Why me? Can't he make some girl sit with me and Luke with someone else?
"I hope you like your partners because you'll be with them for the whole year"
"Ugh!!!" I said while banging my head on the desk.
"Guess you're just stuck with me now" Luke said, smirking.
"Yeah" I said and rolled my eyes.
"So what's up?" he said while sitting next to me.
"Not much" I replied while going through the script.
"Wanna do something fun after Uni?" Luke asked.
"Like what?"
"How about a cup of coffee? I heard there's a new cafe that opened down the street. And people say it's pretty good"
"Uh, okay, sure. But right now I don't have any money on me" I said.
"Don't worry, the coffee's on me" he replied with a smile.
"Okay then. Coffee after Uni" I said, flashing him a thumbs up sign. Then, turning back to my script, I wondered, 'Why is he so good to me? I just met him and he has already treated me.'
I turned towards him and said, "Are you... are you thinking of this a date?" But then, I felt stupid. What if Luke thought of me as his friend and nothing more?
"Yeah, totally" he replied with a grin.
"Um, sorry, but I would like to think of you as my friend... and nothing more"
"You can think of it as whatever you want to but for me it's still a date"
"Ok... but just as friends"
"No problem. All romantic relationships start with friendship" he grinned at me.
"We'll see" I rolled my eyes again. Just then we heard Mr. Lakefield say, "Mr. Adams and Ms. Saunders, I hope you are ready to share your interesting topic of discussion with the whole class"
"Oh, no... Sorry Mr. Lakefield..." I said, my cheeks flushing. After that we got back to work and soon the bell for the break rang.
"Ok class, meet you all tomorrow. And I hope you all remember about the music auditions.Those who all wish to join the music band of the Uni, can come for the auditions after fifteen minutes in the music hall"
Third Person's POV
All the students gathered at the music hall for the auditions. "Oh my god!! I'm soo excited" Diana exclaimed to Natalie, Alex and Ella.
"I know, right?" Alex said.
"Okay guys, shush!" Ella said. "Mrs. Woon is saying something"
(A/N: Mrs. Woon is their Music teacher)
"Students-Students! I know you people are excited, but please lend me your ears for a minute." "I am proud to say that Mr. Lakefield and I are going to audition you young talented people and bring out the music from inside you" Mrs. Woon clapped her hands together in excitement.
"Okay.... Sooo which song are you gonna sing, Alex? And Ella and Natty?" Diana asked. "Hips don't lie for me!!!" she added.
"All too well for me!!!" Alex said. Natalie, Ella and Diana stared at her like she was mad. "What? Swiftie forever!!" she said and winked at us.
"Girlfriend by Avril for me" Ella said.
"I am so gonna sing 'Stronger' by Kelly Clarkson. I just love that song" Natalie added with an air punch.
"Kay girls, get your best girl voices ready!!!" Diana said, twirling her brunette hair. The four of them did a group hug and got into the looong line of auditions.

Natalie's POV
"Mine went great!!! I got all the pitches right" Ella squealed.
"Mee too" Alex commented.
"Me three" I added.
"Me four" Diana joined. We all did a group hug and then went for our classes.

I had gone home to freshen up and so, I reached the cafe a bit late. Luke was sitting on a table while quickly typing away on phone.
"Hey" Luke said, his eyes lightening up when me saw me.
"Hey...." I smiled at him.
Luke's POV
(Before Natalie arrives)
'When's she gonna come? Is she even gonna come?' I thought to myself. 'Is this a good plan? Is it gonna work? Should I do it? I know she is way outta my league, but I still wanna have her. She is too cute to give up. Two years... Two years since I first noticed her and now... finally!!' I felt like doing a happy dance. 'Calm down Alec... She's just a girl... just a girl... just a cute, beautiful and hot girl... "Here we go again" I muttered to myself. Just then I received a message from Alec,
'Hey man. Where r ya? Can't find u anywhere. Me & d guys r goin for a party. Wanna join?' It read.
'Nah, sorry, I can't... I'm wid Natalie. Waitin for her to cum :p' I sent it.
'Ooooh, hav fun :p' He replied. I was gonna reply to it when I saw Natalie coming towards me.
"Hey" I said.
"Hey" she replied with a smile.
'Such a cute smile' I thought to myself. I got up, pulled out a chair for her and asked her to sit down.
"After you" I said. She mumbled a thanks as she sat down.
"So... you got a boyfriend?" I asked trying to break the silence and hoping she'd say no.
"Nah... I'm forever alone" she said while popping the 'p' and winking at me.
"Wanna give me a chance?" I asked playfully. That got her pretty serious.
"Hey chill!! I was just joking" I said. She didn't seem to hear me.
"Maybe... Maybe not"
"You-you'll give me a chance?" I asked, surprised.
"You seem like a nice guy. If you are worth it... and if the shoe fits... then yeah, I will" she replied with the hint of a smile.
"So.... If I ask you to be my girlfriend, will you agree?"
"Don't push your luck too far and-" before she could finish, the waiter arrived with our menu's.
"Damn waiter!" I mumbled to myself.
"What would you like to have?" The waiter asked us.
"A cold coffee for me, please" Natalie politely said.
"I'll have a pastry with extra cream on top." I said. I saw Natalie give me a glare so I added, "Please." Natalie smiled at that. The waiter nodded and went to get our orders. Then it all grew silent, so to liven up the conversation, I asked her,
"What do you plan on doing after you graduate?"
"Hmmm.... A fashion designer, perhaps?" She answered.
"Awesome. Design some clothes for me also" I said with a grin.
"Ya ya ok" Natalie laughed. Meanwhile, the waiter returned with Natalie's coffee and my pastry.
"Thank you" Natalie said and looked at me.
"Yeah. Thank you" I repeated.
"My pleasure" the waiter said and left. I finished my pastry and looked up just in time to see Natalie taking her last sip.
"Uhh, it was nice talking to you, but I gotta go now, it's getting late. So... See you tomorrow. Byyyeeee" Natalie said.
"Okay, fine, bye. See you around" I replied and left the cafe with her. Both went our separate ways.
Natalie's POV
"Uhh, it was nice talking to you but I gotta go now, it's getting late." I took a pause. "So... See you tomorrow. Byyyeeee"
"Okay, fine, bye. See you around" Luke said. I almost wanted to ask him to drop me... but then I realised that if he had wanted to do that, he would've asked me himself. I left the cafe and was was passing an alleyway when I felt a hand grab mine.
