- Lies -
Every second that passed came a new thought. A thought so violent that it burns deep into my scarred skin. It burns the scars of the cuts I made, and I hold in the cries for help.
The thoughts linger in my head for days, taunting me to do what they say. It bounces back and forth furiously through the corners of my mind as I scribble down the pain on a burnt piece of paper.
You tell me it was going to be alright, but we knew better. And all those assuring words felt like venom dripping into my ears. I do not want lies. I want the truth. Why do you have to burn me and leave comforting lies when all I want is for the truth of you.
