2 days before Elsa's birthday
Anna and Kristoff were preparing a ball for Elsa, while Rose was in Gerda's care. Edan and Elsa were caught up in meetings about the success in the scouting expedition.
Although it was a success some members of the council thought of it too easy. There were was no sighting of any Southern Isles ship as far the eye could see. It was a little... odd.
The council was hoping that that the scout squad would at least get visual conformation of southern isles in the distance outside the territory, but they didn't find anything.
Edan couldn't care less about what the council thought. He didn't see any Southern Isles ships so that was good.
Edan could tell that Elsa was getting annoyed by the matter. Edan was also starting to get annoyed.
They were in the middle of a meeting one day when a courier came in with a letter. He gave it for Elsa to read.
Edan watched Elsa's eyes move across the page and widen in the process.
"Your majesty." The prime minister said. "What does it say?"
Elsa took a deep breath. "Dear Queen Elsa." She read. "The Northern Isles invites you to our Ball. It represents the ending of winter. We will also be hosting a tournament that only the strongest of warriors may enter. You may choose your strongest warrior to participate. We await your reply." She finished and looked to the rest of the council.
"I'm game." Edan said. "When is it?"
Elsa looked down at the paper and then back at Edan. "March 21st."
"That's a while from now, it's only February still. Plus your birthday ball is in a couple of days." Edan said.
Many other council members nodded. "Then it's settled." Elsa said. "We will go to the Northern Isles for the celebration. Meeting adjourned." Elsa stood up from her seat, as did others. Edan waited a bit but joined Elsa in the hall.
They walked down the hallway until they came across Anna, who had a bunch of notes in her hand. "Hi guys." She said running by them. "Bye guys."
Edan and Elsa looked at each other, and then continued walking back down the hall, until they came to Elsa's room. "So about the tournament." Edan started.
"Maybe." Elsa said with a smirk.
"You don't even know what I'm going to say."
They went into the room, Elsa grabbed her book and sat down on her bed. Edan sat down on the chair across from her.
"Is this all you do all day between meetings, especially when it's 2 days away from your birthday."
Elsa gave a small laugh. "What else do you expect me to do?"
"I don't know, maybe, build a snowman." Edan hinted.
Elsa laughed. "No thanks." She said.
"Well I'm going to go." Edan said backing away to the door.
"Edan, I've been thinking..."
"What?"
"We've been in love for a long time and..."
"And?"
"Well... when do you think we would get married. If we ever do that is."
Edan paused for a moment. "Probably when the time is right.
"When will that be?" She asked.
"I don't know, one of us will propose when the time is right." Edan said. "Now I gotta go."
Edan walked up to her and kissed her on the forehead. "Have a good day."
1 day before Elsa's birthday
Elsa and Edan continued with their meetings throughout the day.
Once the meetings were done for the day Elsa left the meeting hall, Edan left to head towards the barracks. He was to inform the guards of the plan for the following night.
Anna was rushing around making sure that everything would be ready.
Kristoff was looking after Rose.
Elsa was sitting in her study writing a response to the Northern Isles. There was a knock on the door and Anna entered.
"Hi Anna." Elsa said cheerfully. "What's up?"
Anna walked in and sat down.
"Elsa, I was wondering. You and Edan have been together for a long time now. Have you thought about asking him to marry you?" Anna asked.
"I have actually, but Edan thinks we should wait a bit."
"Oh, ok."
There was a awkward silence until Elsa finally spoke. "So, have you finished decorated the ball room for tomorrow."
"Yes. It took a long time, but we finished." Anna said. "Well I better go." Anna left Elsa's study room to go find Edan.
Anna found him outside sparring with other guards. "Edan." She shouted at him. "Can you come here for a second." Edan looked at her for a second.
"Just a minute." He shouted back.
Edan turned back to his opponent and blocked his attack. He then slid down to the ground and swept his feet underneath the guards. Edan stood back up and towered over his opponent. He held out his hand, the guard took it and Edan pulled him to his feet.
Edan walked away from the guards that were sparring, and walked over and sat next to Anna.
"So, what's up?" Edan asked.
"Elsa told me you don't want to marry her." Anna said raising a eyebrow.
Edan's jaw dropped. "That's not true at all."
"Then why..." Anna was cut short as Edan put his hand over her mouth.
"Anna, I'm going to tell you something. That you must tell no one."
Anna nodded. Edan leaned in and whispered something. As Edan whispered, Anna's eyes widened.
Edan backed away and looked her in the eyes. Anna nodded. She stood up and walked away.
"Happy birthday."
Elsa woke to see Anna, Kristoff (who as carrying Rose), Olaf, and Edan.
Anna had a tray in her hands that had pancakes on it. She put it on her lap.
"Breakfast in bed." Elsa said with a smile. "I wish I had birthdays more often."
Anna and Kristoff gave Elsa her presents. "Edan, where's your present?" Elsa asked raising a eyebrow.
"You'll see." Edan said with a smile.
Elsa rolled her eyes and began it eat her breakfast.
Later during the day Elsa was getting dressed into a light blue and purple dress.
Anna got into a whitish, bluish, green dress.
Kristoff got dressed into a suit, while Edan got dressed into a white suit, with red markings, and wore his red cape.
They all met up in the entrance hall as guests began to enter. Elsa welcomed and thanked them for coming.
Edan stood off to the side, he hated having to be all formal.
After many of the guests had entered it was time for the ball to begin. After dancing with Elsa for the opening dance, they sat down at our table, which was at the head of the ball room.
People danced around the ball room, Edan sat beside Elsa, Anna was with Kristoff beside Elsa. Anna was holding Rose. "So Edan." Elsa started. "When are you going to give me my present?" She asked with a smile.
Edan saw Anna look over at him and smiled. "Come on." Edan said grabbing her hand and bringing her to her feet. Edan brought her outside onto a small balcony.
"So Elsa." Edan started. "You want your present." Edan could see Anna was practically dragging Kristoff behind her.
"Of course I do." Elsa said with a smile.
"Alright." Edan put his hands behind his back. "Elsa you are the greatest thing that's ever happened in my life. You saved my life, you always make time through all the meeting, and you can take the heat." He said with a smile. "That's why..." He brought his hands back around and knelt down. In his hands he had a small box. Elsa gasped and put her hands over her mouth.
"Queen Elsa of Arrendale, will you marry me?" Edan asked.
Elsa was stunned, she was a lost for words. "Well?" Edan asked.
Tears began to form in Elsa eyes. "Yes." She finally said. "Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes." Edan stood back up and hugged her. They kissed.
Anna squealed in joy. She ran up and hugged them. Kristoff joined in.
"This is the best birthday ever." Elsa said through tears.
