61 years later. (I think)

Hobbits have been living and farming in the Shire for many hundreds of years.

I content to ignore and be ignored by the world of the big folk, Middle Earth being after all are full of different creatures beyond count. Hobbits were seen with little importance being neither known as great warriors nor counted among very wise.

In fact it has been marked by some that Hobbits' only real passion is for food in unrather fair observation as we have also developed to keen interest to drink ales, the smoking of pipe weed but where our hearts truly lie is in peace and quiet and good tilde earth and are good in things we share to grow.

"I bet that she can't jump over it without touching-- it's impossible!" Merry stated as Frodo laughed at his lack of knowledge of Alvena. "How much?" Alvena asked with a smirk on her face. "Hmm.. I get to do your chores for a week." Merry said with an excited Pippin and chuckling Frodo watching from the side. "Where's Sam?" Pippin asked as his head whipped side to side "Garden." Frodo replied more interested in Merry and Alvena's bet.

"Deal." Alvena said.

"But you also have to jump." Merry started rubbing his chin while he was thinking. "Okay... Go!" Merry said as he started running towards the high fence that was only up to Alvena's waist as he started running he was shocked to see Alvena running ahead and he was even more shocked to see Alvena jump over the fence with ease without touching the fence and with determination Merry tried jumping over the fence without holding the railing but he failed as half of his leg got caught and he fell face first to the ground.

Pippin and Frodo burst out laughing as Merry made contact to the ground Alvena turned around and stifled her laugh as she tried helping Merry stand up but he shrugged her hand off his shoulders. "That's cheating!" Merry accused even though he knew exactly who won fair and square.

Alvena rolled her eyes and said "One week my chores please don't upset Hyacinth. You know she has quite a temper." Merry rolled his eyes and stalked off with Pippin. Frodo laughed as he looked at his aunt Alvena. Alvena smiled at her handsome nephew and said "Come on Frodo! Let's go check that crazy uncle of yours and see what he is doing." Frodo walked along side with Alvena as they made their way towards Bag End.

Alvena and Frodo entered and Alvena called out, "Bilbo! We're back!" As she took her bandanna off to make her hair flow freely, her red hair was no longer short. Her rich red hair now came up to her breasts. "I'm in here." Bilbo called out from a room that he spent most his time in. Frodo went into another room as Alvena approached her brother and peeked at what he was doing "It's not yet done!" Bilbo snapped as he closed the book but Alvena rolled her eyes and said "Please Bilbo, I lived those adventures with you so I know everything you'll write in that book."

"He's writing that silly book of his?" Frodo asked as he took a bite of his apple. "I am afraid so Frodo." Alvena replied with a smirk on her face she knew exactly how Bilbo would react if you called his book silly. "It is not silly you buffoons!" he snapped at them making both of them laugh.

"Laugh all you want but one day my book will be the talk of Middle Earth." Alvena laughed even more she knew that Bilbo's book would be the talk of the Shire but she doubt it would be the talk of Middle Earth but instead of bringing him down she encourages him more. "Well, good for you Bilbo." Alvena said as she patted his back.

"Alvena let's go wait for Gandalf!" Frodo said as he glanced at Alvena. Alvena's eyes shined bright with excitement she couldn't wait to see her old friend. Bilbo laughed as Alvena and Frodo dashed out the door to wait for a very good friend.

"Do you think he'll come?" Alvena asked as she played with the grass on the ground while Frodo read a book. "Of course he will, he and Uncle Bilbo are very close." Frodo replied without looking at his aunt. Alvena groaned as she couldn't stand waiting another second for the wizard but that's when Frodo and Alvena heard a humming. Alvena and Frodo looked at each other and dashed to where the humming sound came from. As they ran down the hill sometimes either one of them would stumble or fall on their stomachs but they ignored it as they caught Gandalf riding his carriage with his hat covering his face.

Frodo folded his arms and stated "You're late."

"A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins and Alvena Baggins, nor is he early he arrives precisely when he means to." Gandalf said sternly after a few seconds of silence all three tried holding their laughter but failed as they let out their laughter. "It's wonderful to see you Gandalf!" Alvena squealed as she jumped on the carriage and tackled Gandalf into a hug, Frodo also followed. "You think I'll miss your brother Bilbo's birthday did you?" Gandalf asked.

As they carried on and started making their way to Bilbo's home Gandalf asked "So how is the old rascal? I heard it is gonna be a party of special magnificence. "You know Bilbo he has got the whole place in a uproar." Alvena said as she rolled her eyes. "Half the Shire has been invited and the rest of them are turning up anyway." Frodo added as the three of them laughed.

"To tell you the truth Bilbo has been a bit odd lately, I mean more than usual. He's taking himself to lock in his study. He's spend hours and hours pouring of old maps when he thinks I'm not looking... he's up to something." Frodo said. Alvena couldn't agree more ever since Bilbo has hit the age of 100 she's been having suspicions of her own. Gandalf and Alvena looked away pretending as if they both don't know about anything. "All right then keep your secrets." Frodo said as he smiled "I know you both have something to do with it."

"Before you came along we Baggins' are very well thought of."

"Indeed."

"Never had any adventures or anything unexpected." Frodo said as he looked between Gandalf and Alvena. "I mean look at Alvena you even corrupt her mind."

"If you are referring to the incident with the dragon I was barely involved... all I did was give your Uncle a little nudge out the door... like your aunt here." Gandalf defended. "Whatever you did you have been officially labeled disturber of the peace." Frodo said making Alvena burst out laughing while Gandalf mumbled, "Really?"

"Gandalf! Gandalf! Gandalf!" little hobbit children shouted in the distance running towards the carriage once they saw Gandalf. "Awwww... no fireworks? Awww...." the children were disappointed but suddenly at the back of the carriage Gandalf's fireworks started shooting making the children scream and cheer. "Gandalf I'm glad you're back!" Frodo said as he got off the carriage. "So am I dear boy." Gandalf replied.

Alvena couldn't help but think of a certain someone. "Uhh... Gandalf have you... uhh... ever heard from... uhhh..." Alvena stuttered shy to even say his name.

"Mirkwood Prince? I am sorry my dear but I haven't heard from him over a very long time." Gandalf replied smirking. Alvena felt disappointed but tried her best not to let it show. "Well Gandalf I guess I'll see you later... have some ummm... chores to do." she lied knowing she is gonna go to her usual place which was right at the top of the hill of Bag end.

"See you later not so little one." Gandalf said as he waved at her.

Alvena jogged to her favorite place knowing every time she goes there she misses him more and more.

Legolas Greenleaf.

She has thought of him more each day, with each day losing count on how many times she has imagined him beside her. Alvena arrived at her favorite place as she plopped on the ground and stared at the sky with the sun about to set. She looked under her shirt and found the ruby necklace Legolas gave her years ago. She stared at it for a bit but then clutched it to her heart-- this is what she did most of her day-- she shut her eyes tightly and imagined Legolas lying next to her. As she opened her eyes she saw Legolas lying next to her smiling at her making his bright blue eyes shine.

"I miss you." she whispered but as she tried to touch him he suddenly disappeared she knew it would happen like always but she would always feel sad every time it did happen.

Music, laughter, claps, food, and fireworks filled the air the Shire was a merry place to be. "Perfect!" Alvena stated with a clap as she put on the last fruit of the birthday cake while the rest lit the candles. She then jogged outside and found Frodo dancing but she grabbed him by the shirt and approached a lonely Sam who only stared at the secret love of his life, Rosie.

Alvena was as usual hiding her red hair in a green bandana while she wore brown leggings and a white tunic. Once Frodo got the message Alvena was doing he plopped beside Sam and encouraged him. "Go on Sam dance with her!" But Sam just looked at Rosie and said "Umm.. I'm gonna go get a shot of ale."

Before he could walk away Alvena caught him and said "Oh no you don't." As her and Frodo pushed him and he was finally dancing with the secret love of his life. Frodo and Alvena laughed as they watched Sam and Rosie danced.

Of course the party went on and Frodo spent most of his time beside his aunt, the unusual Hobbit at least that's what people saw her as. But when the mischievous Pippin and Merry set a random firework into the air which was one of Alvena's favorite since it was just like Smaug the dragon who swept down and ended up in the sky with a boom.

What Alvena didn't know as she watched her beloved brother talk on stage he disappeared.

Fear coursed through Alvena's veins as she felt like another adventure was about to happen.
