The Sad Thing

They say it's better to be beautiful inside, than outside.
But the sad thing is, people won't care if you're kind if you're ugly.
Everyone will like you, but only when you're pretty.
That's the hard thing. That's the sad thing.

They say some people are single because they know how to wait for what they deserve,
but what if it's because what they deserve won't come.
Maybe it's because they never impressed anyone with their presence.
Nobody liked the quiet girl in the corner.

Maybe she'll just wait,
and maybe she'll cry.
Maybe she'll bleed,
maybe she'll die.

And the sad thing is,
no one but me saw the real her.
Nobody cried as much as I did when she'd gone.
Nobody saw the beauty in her like I did.
