HARRY
"Today, can we please?" I beg Dr. Burgess. I expect the same answer that I've gotten everyday that I've asked.
"Yes," she says, throwing me off course of our daily routine. Louis looks at me with excitement, helping me out of bed and into the wheelchair.
This is the first time I've not dreaded going into the NICU. This doesn't do anything for his health, or at least not that I know of, but the feeling of him being arms, against my body gives me so much hope. I brush my finger across his bare cheek, he's warm and frail.
"I love you, I love you, I love you," I whisper, smiling for the first time in a long time.
"I do have good news," Dr. Burgess says, I almost miss her sentence, being in so much awe with William.
"Yes?" Louis asks.
"We did an ultrasound last night, and there's no signs of a brain bleed and his heart murmur seems to be non-surgical. He's back to his birth weight so he's no longer losing weight like he was Tuesday, things seem to be on the right track," she tells us.
