Layla's POV
It was breakfast time and i was looking at my mail. I had one from the prison. I sighed and opened it up and shook my head "what is it?" my dad asked and i gave it to him "your not going to that place!" he said and my mum looked at me "what is it sweetie?" she asked and took some toast "Tyler has shown bad behaviour and she's not allowed to the shool so i have to go to the prison!" i said and she sighed,
"are you going to go?" she asked and i nodded "no, no your not im not having you pesterd by those people!" my dad said and i sighed "dad its fine!" i said and i looked at the time "i'll be late home as i will be at the prison dont cook me dinner!" i said and left.
I had been teaching her for two months now and she was really smart, smarter than i thought. I found out she was being taught in English by Miss Jesops or Brenda and was doing good in there aswell. I went to work and my classes were good and it was lunch and i was talking to Brenda about Tyler.
"she is a bright kid, was even when she was here!" she said and i nodded "i dodnt think she done it to be honest!" i said and took some of my sandwhich and she nodded " i agree, she never could do that way to nice!" she said and i nodded,
"i asked her about it and she ranted on how about how the army soldiers are all murders and how the brittish soldiers in both world wars arent heros there murders but so are the germans and how small insects have feelings and how the thought of a gun repulses her!" i said and she laughed a bit and nodded,
"yeh she said all that in one of my classes. We were reading a book and it was before the summer she was in fourth year, i remember it well. We were reading the book and a boy jumped away and asked me to kill the wasp that was on the window and she guilt tripped the class into not killing it!" she said with a laugh,
"it was that same september it happened!" she said with a frown "did you get the letter?" i asked and she nodded "oh i was going to ask, if your going i could give you a lift!" she said and i nodded "yeh sounds good!" i said and she nodded and the bell went "i have last period free so i'll head to your class!" she said and i nodded "yeh sure!" i said and went to my class.
As good as her word, Brenda sat through my last period of sixth years "leave quietly please, thank you!" i said to them and she laughed "i hate History!" she said and i laughed "oih you just insuleted me deeply there!" i said and got my coat on and we walked to her car.
It isnt a short drive and the way the road works you can see in the prison grounds "how long have we to keep going to the prison?" she asked and i thought about it "two months i think!" i said and she nodded,
Out of curiosity i looked over and there she was sitting in a chair at the corner of the fence. Her legs were stretched out and she looked to be sleeping. I saw Brenda was both looking over and concentraiting on the road.
A guard walked over to her and he kicked her boot and she didnt move "she looks dead!" Brenda said and i nodded " i know!" i said and all of a suddne she was hauled up and pinned against the fence.
Brenda slowed down with shock. She punched in the stomch repeatedly and the guard walked away and she spat out what looked like blood. Brenda had now stoped the car and was just staring at her. She sat back down and another gaurd came and pushed her away out of sight.
"that did just happen?" Brenda asked me and i nodded, i couldnt speak. We drove on and entered the prison. We went through the security checks and waited in the visitors room.
It was a big room and had metal chais and metal tables. There were two chairs on one side and one opposite and on that side there were two wrist locks secured to the table. I looked to the right of the room and there was a full length window. It reached from the floor to the ceeling and to each end of the room.
Some prisoners were walkiong by and some came with guards and walked in the room then all of a sudden there were a crowed of guards in on area. They moved and there were two men in jumpsuits and one was threating the other with a knife " oh my god!" Brenda whispered.
There were arguing between the two men and the guards all looked to scared to go near them, we now had full view and everyone in the room was watching. We then saw Tyler and her guard come. They stoped but Tyler walked on over to them.
She turened so they were on either side of her and she was facing the window. The man with the knife looked at her and she just looked at him with her arms crossed over her chest and her weight on one side and he handed her the knife and she looked at it and knodded, she said something to him and threw it at a guard to catch,
She was cuffed again and walked into the room. She was shocked to see us but walked over. She sat in the seat opposite and was cuffed to the table and her ankles were cuffed "no nosense!" her guard said and she just rolled her eys. The guard walked away and she just looked at us "why are you both here?" she asked and Brenda sighed,
"well we are teaching you!" she said in a duh tone. She nodded "fine teach away!" she said and Brenda went first with a novel work.I looked at Tyler closley and she was tapping her fingers on the table and when she stoped she was figiting with the wrist cuffs. A guard came over and tightened her cuffs.
It was my turn and we were starting WWII "okay so first you have to read over the sheet and answer the questions!" i said and she nodded. Due to her hands in cuffs i was writting her answers on the paper. "okay so why was Germany so bitter after WW1?" i asked, i had taken the sheet of her in the hopes she knew it,
She nodded "Because the treaty of Versillies limited them many things." she said and i nodded and wrte it down "good, whats communisim?" i asked and she nodded "When the goverment decides every thing such as your job where you live, your pay etc." i nodded,
"what is Nazi?" i asked "Hitlers political party!" she said and i nodded "could you expand on that?" i asked and she nodded "Very racist people that believe that everything one person or group does is right. For example, they hated jews!" she said and i wrote it down,
Thankfully there were only three more questions. I was about to ask the next question when a guard came over and tightened her cuffs and tightened them so bad her hands went red.
She looked over at me "next question!" she said through gritted teeth and i nodded "What role did Radar play in Saving Britian?" i asked and she nodded "Radar told the British where the planes were at and when thye were coming so they could shoot them down" she said through gritted teeth,
She let out a sigh and a gaurd came up and tightened her cuffs "next time warden lesson or no lesson!" she said and shoved her slightly and walked away "question!" she said a bit annoyed and i sighed and nodded "Where was the Maginot line and why did it not succeed.?" i asked "the maginot line was in South France and it did not suceed because Germany Attacked from North France and the Guns were cemented into place so they were defenseless!" she said and i nodded and wrote it down
"very good, you understood it well!" i said and she nodded "grew up with Hisory remember!" she said then clenched her fists. She seemed to do that everytime her past was mentioned "you okay?" Branda asked concerened and she nodded "so whats prison like?" Branda asked and she raised an eyebrow,
"what?" she asked and Brenda smiled "Well what do you do when your not at school or in your cell?" she asked and she nodded "out on the yeard!" she said and Brenda nodded "and is it nice here like are you treated noraml?" she asked and Tyler laughed a bit "yeh normal!" she said and we both frowned.
The same gaurd came again "right warden!" he said and unhooked her cuffs. Another guard came and they pinned her in a lcok "no please no!" she shouted as they took her away and we just sat there in shock. A guard came and took us away and after a security check we went to Brenda's car.
"there not being treated right there at all, i think her more than any of them personally!" Brenda said as she started the car and i nodded "i know what you mean, you dont beat them up criminal or not!" i said and she nodded "nothing we can do though which is a shame we just got to keep suporting her!" she said and i nodded "yeh!" i said and she dropped me back at school so i could get my car.
I drove home and i sat exhausted on the couch "i hate prisons!" i said and my sister sat next to me "do tell!" she said and i nodded "you know you have the motor way that when you drive on it you see the yard?" i asked and my parents nodded "oh yeh, i drive on it to get there its funny you can see them but they cant see you!" my sister said and i nodded,
"well we were driving on it and she was out on the yard in the corner sitting on a chair looking dead when a guard came up to her kicked her foot and she didnt move, then all of a sudden she was pinned up against the fence and beat up like a ragdoll,
we saw her spit out what looked like blodd and before she could gather herself another gaurd came and dragged her away somewhere. Also when we were waiting on her comming a man was threatning another man with a knife and the guards were to scared to do anything so when she came and just stood there looking at them both the man just handed it over to her and she just scted like it was nothing cos its apperently always happening!" i said and they were in a bit of shock,
"you know she comes to me every day twice a day with bruises all over her body, she says its fights and walks of but only afew could be fights i guess that explains the others!" Catrina said and i nodded 2well dont you both get involved!" my dad said and i sighed " i cant only Catrina can!" i said and she shrugged "what can i do and im not gonna im just a doctor!" she said and i sighed,
I wanted to help her she's an innocent pesrson but why are the gaurds beating her up. I cant ask her in the prison i only hope she is good and gets back to the school where i can ask her in more privately.
