He kissed someone. The fucker actually had the audacity to make out with someone, in front of me no less!

I heard of pain when someone kissed someone other than their mate before, but I never thought I would feel it! It was like a sharp prick to my heart, straight into the center of my chest. I felt hollow, my nails scratching at my breastplate while I tried to not cry out.

School had just been let out, and I was making my way to my car when Jaxon kissed a random red head in front of his car. I rolled my eyes, but the pain began to irritate my chest. I took in a sharp breath and bent over in pain, clutching my eyes shut. I could barely hear anything over the sound of my blood rushing through my ears, my fingers scratching right at the center of my chest.

"Jaxon, stop!" I heard what sounded like Mona shout, her voice cutting through the pounding of my heart straight into my ear drum.

Just like it began, the pain faded away quickly. I shot up as quick as I could with tears streaming down my cheeks, his face shocked and open in horror. I grit my teeth, feeling the energy sure through me as I tried to reign in my anger, tried to control the undeniable power racing through my being.

But of course, I lost control.

Thunder cracked loud overhead, sending girls shrieking and crying for cover. Lighting shot down from the sky and hit Jaxon's car, toasting it up into flames. Wind whipped around me as people ran, my eyes trained on the fire no more than ten feet away from me.

A growl ripped through the air as something shot me off my feet, my eyes flashing just as I hit the cold pavement. I already knew who it was, Jaxon's father and the Alpha of this pack, and let me just say; his death wasn't pretty.

War raged around him as he stood in his wolf form, towering and as black as night. He had already lost his mate, and had handed down his pack to his son. The only thing he could do was buy them some time, buy us some time. He raged against the Rogues and Hunters standing before him, willing to kill himself, if he could protect his son and his sons mate from the same fate that his wife had met.

I shot up from the pavement so fast, scorching back till my own back hit the solid brick of the building behind me. Jaxon was seething at his father, his eyes black and his entire body shaking. He growled at the man before him, who merely stood calm and completely collected.

"You hit her!" He roared at him, his eyes flashing between yellow and utter darkness, the thunder still rolling above us.

Shit.

"Calm down Riedon, you're scaring her." His eyes flashed to me before he stopped shaking, his eyes squeezing shut before flashing open again to reveal the grey that had shocked me to my core to begin with.

Who the fuck is Riedon?

"Bout time you joined us." I muttered under my breath, pushing my hands into my lap to hide the fact they were shaking. I couldn't bare to look at his father, the guilt was pooling and manifesting deep in my stomach until it began to boil over. My eyes flashed between the Alpha and Jaxon, who both, surprisingly, were looking at me concerned.

"You okay there, Ms. Lily?" I bit my lip as I pushed myself up, blowing out a breath I had been holding. I looked to Jaxon for a second before focusing all my attention on his father, his eyes studying me.

He had the same grey as Jaxon, as well as height and build. His hair was lighter than Jaxon's though, where as Jaxon must have gotten his facial structure from his mother as well. I rolled my lip between my teeth as I tried to honk of what to say, the clouds receding above us just the slightest.

"I'm sorry, for future reference I mean. You don't owe us anything, you don't owe Jaxon nor I, nor anyone, anything." He studied me for a bit before he nodded, returning his attention back to Jaxon.

"You have some explaining to do." He pointed his index finger towards Jaxon who simply nodded, his eyes flashing back to me every couple of seconds.

I spun on my heel and went down the cement steps, gritting my teeth. I was furious at myself for letting my powers out that much, I should've known better. I walked to my car when I heard footsteps behind me, whirling around to see Jaxon with his hand up to grab me.

"No!" I dodged out of his touch, my eyes locked on his hand he still held up. He looked at me confused before he finally dropped it back down to his side, his eyes trained on me.

"Look, I don't know how you know about, us, but you do." He spoke as everyone else began to trickle out of the school, their eyes on Jaxon's car that was still black and burnt from the lightening strike. I gave him a fake confused look, scrunching my face in dramatics.

"It doesn't matter considering I don't know anything. Besides, as you said yourself, you shouldn't be talking to me." His jaw locked, my eyes watching as his muscles tense under his tan skin. I wanted to touch it, run my fingers along the sharp contours of every inch of his body.

"It does, you know that I rejected you, you know I'm your mate." I waited till most of the school left, my fingers playing with the hem of my shirt. I looked up finally when only two cars were left in the school parking lot, his betas car and my own.

"You rejected me, you said it yourself. I have no idea what a mate is, nor do I want too. I have to go, you shouldn't be talking with me if you want this rejection to stay the way it is." Hurt flashed across his face, but as fast as it came it left.

"Fine, I just have a proposition for you." I rolled my eyes as I opened my door, flinging my backpack into the passenger side.

"Let me guess, I leave, come back in two years totally hot and let you get your horny teenage ways out, and then settle down and have your twenty kids and be a housewife and blah blah blah." I stuck my tongue out and rolled my eyes, earning a growl from sir Alpha over there. "I've read a million books about rejection, from wolves to humans to bloody demons.

I watched his body tense up when I said wolves, before relaxing a bit. "No, lets act like mates for my fathers sake, but nothing fucking happens. No feelings, no one else, and when we graduate, we break up." I rolled my eyes, again, and fully faced him.

"You're an idiot if you think that'll work. Besides, I don't trust you to stay away from Brittany or Stacy or whatever fucking cliche names those girls have."

"Her names Kendra, and she'll be my girlfriend at the end of all this."

I'll be honest, that fucking hurt. I shut my eyes as pain hit my chest, my fists squeezing at the sides of my body. I had to make sure my eyes didn't flash white like they do when I get visions or when my powers become too much.

"Fine, I don't care. I want whatever it is between us fucking gone and then I'll get out of your hair; but I am not playing little miss nice girl while you fuck someone else on the side and have someone else play housewife." I opened my eyes to him, letting him see how much pain this stupid fucking bond was causing me. "That was supposed to be my position, my job; I was supposed to love you, but I honestly don't give a shit anymore."

I fully opened my door and got in, shoving the key into the ignition before starting the car. I gunned out if the parking lot without looking back, feeling the burn on his eyes on me the entire time.

-

I bit my lip as I sat in the giant maple tree, my curly hair flying around me. I was flipping through book after book, the large leather bound one was suspended mid air in front of me while the other was resting in my arms. I was searching for something, anything, to break this goddamn bond.

I shut my eyes and rested my head back against the huge trunk behind me, cursing myself for already developing feelings towards the stupid Alpha. He seriously still thought I was human, but I guess that's no ones fault except my own. I didn't want him to want me purely on the basis I wasn't human though, he should want me for who I was!

Stupid, arrogant asshat.

"It has to be some mistake." I muttered as the wind blew my hair back, the light of the moon shining upon me.

It isn't and you know it.

"Then why does he hate me so much? What is it that makes him loathe humans so much?"

He's just afraid, afraid of growing up and changing his ways. Give him time.

"I'm not giving him shit."

I hopped out of the tree and stepped upon air, using my powers to create a type of stairs with the air around me. The books followed me back to my house, flying into their place on my bookshelf. I smelt pine around me, my eyes looking out the window to the first before me.

I didn't see him, but I felt him. I could feel his buzz through the air, the longing deep within my chest practically drawing me to him. I couldn't help it, I loved him, which was completely and utterly pathetic of me.

I closed the curtains without another thought and climbed into my bed, squeezing my eyes shut at the loneliness that surrounded me. I heard a howl in the distance that I knew was his wolf, because he would never let his emotions show that much.

Stupid stubborn wolf.
