"ACTION....."
"Caroline, everything's going to be ok. Bonnie and Damon will get here soon and then we can get the babies out," Holly tried to reassure her friend as she continued through the pain of established labour.
"I just wish this was over."
Taking her friends hand as she lay in her hospital bed, Holly tried her best to explain what was going on. As a newly turned vampire, Holly was dealing with enough already without all of this too.
It was decided just weeks ago that it was the right time for Holly to change. She'd be safer as a vampire, stronger and more resilient. Turns out their timing couldn't be worse. There was now a vampire huntress out there who would not hesitate in her efforts to make sure they were all dead. Not so great.
Even with all of those worries on their plate, Holly made sure that all of her attention was on Caroline. It had to be. It deserved to be.
"The babies don't want to be born. They're trying to siphon magic through your blood. Every time the doctors try to perform the c section they fight back."
"So what do we do?"
"Valerie seems to think that if we channel enough magic outside of your body then the babies will be drawn to it and we can get them out."
Caroline let out a frustrated sigh, Holly holding on to one hand and Stefan on to the other. "I swear I didn't hear one medical word in that whole sentence."
"Can Valerie channel the amount of magic we'd need though?" Stefan voiced in concern.
"That's why I called Bonnie. Her and Damon are on their way now. It'll work. It has to."
Bonnie and Damon were currently out trying to find ways of bringing down the vampire huntress Rayna Cruz. It was proving a fruitless task. Every time they managed to kill her she'd just come straight back. She was invincible.
Initially Holly had been desperate to go with them, not liking being away from Damon for too long. Thankfully he'd managed to talk her out of it, convinced her to stay with Caroline.
As a new vamp Holly was a great catch for the seemingly immortal hunter. She couldn't defend herself like the others could, couldn't fight like them either. Damon was not about to let his girlfriend anywhere near Rayna. One stab from her Phoenix sword was a one way ticket to hell. The victim would literally become a moving target, and Rayna would stop at nothing until that vampire was dead. They'd be on the run forever.
"CUT....."
"Ok, let's reset for the final scene," the Director yelled from behind his camera.
It was safe to say the stuff they were about to film would have fans screaming. Not only would it rip two favourites apart, it would finally reveal the depths of their feelings once and for all.
"Hey Princess, you ok?" Ian asked his pregnant wife, stepping on to set and preparing to film his part in the next scene.
"I'm fine baby," Skye smiled, making her way over to her husband for a quick kiss.
"Promise?" He smirked.
"Promise."
Walking over to the couple, Julie Plec couldn't help but get excited about what was coming up. This would be a turning point in Damon and Holly's relationship. It would literally mark a huge milestone in the season. It was going to be epic.
"So are you two ready to get rolling?"
"Aren't we always?" Ian smirked, loosely laying his arm over Julie's shoulder as Skye's wardrobe team came over and made sure that her ever growing baby bump was concealed.
"You sure are. How you holding up Skye?
Still ok?"
"I'm good. Just wondering how long before this little one decides to make an appearance," Skye thought aloud whilst rubbing her belly, Ian then grinning at the sight. "I've got a feeling this bump is going to suddenly pop any day now."
"Well when it does we have plans in place. We'll make it work. Don't worry about a thing."
A few minutes later the sets were all ready so they could continue on with filming. It was time to get emotional.
"ACTION...."
"How is she?" Bonnie shouted, suddenly bursting into the operating room where Caroline lay unconscious, Valerie performing some kind of spell to channel her magic.
"We're about to get the babies out," Stefan answered with a worried tone, Holly feeling exactly the same way as she stood by his side.
"Bonnie, what's wrong?" Stefan questioned when he realised something was up. Bonnie's expression one of fear and uncertainty.
"I think Rayna is somewhere in the hospital."
When the Bennett witch revealed this, the breath in Holly's throat caught. Suddenly she realised someone was missing. Someone who just happened to be the most important person in her universe.
"Where's Damon?"
"He's trying to find her. Not to make things worse but my magic doesn't work on her. Damon can't take her on his own."
"Bonnie, if she stabs him he'll become a target. He'll have to go on the run," Holly cried in a panic. "How could you just leave him alone?"
"I had to get help. I'm useless against her," the witch tried to defend.
"Useless or not he's supposed to be your best friend."
Not wasting another moment Holly used her new super speed and darted out of the room, Stefan and Bonnie's pleas slowly drifting into nothingness as she got further away.
It wasn't long before Holly knew she was nearby. Not only could she hear the attack, she could smell it, smell him. Leather, bourbon and cologne. Damon was close by.
Listening in as she slowed down her approach, careful not to make things worse, Holly heard Damon struggling, giving up, sacrificing himself.
"You want to send me back to hell lady? Well you go right ahead. Rather me than any of them."
Just as Rayna raised her Phoenix sword, prepared and ready to make Damon her next target, Holly threw herself into the action. She didn't question. She didn't think. She just did.
In her mind all she had to do was stop that sword piercing Damon's heart. She had to end it, even if it meant using herself to do it.
Within a split second Holly was suddenly in front of Damon, a shield between him and the hunter. The excruciating pain she felt as the sword pierced through her flesh was unlike anything she'd felt before. She'd just signed her own death sentence. An eternity running. An eternity away from the person she wanted to be with most.
Using what strength she had, Holly attacked Rayna, subduing her for long enough so that she could say goodbye to her blue eyed boyfriend. God she'd miss those eyes.
"Holly?" Damon shook frantically when it dawned on him what she'd done.
They both knew that they didn't have much time before Rayna would be up on her feet again. It would be a minute if that.
Staring into each other's tear filled eyes, it was hard for either of them to find words to express what they were feeling in that very moment.
"What have you done?" Damon asked as he openly broke down, standing up and placing his hands on either side of Holly's face.
"It doesn't matter now baby. Just find a way to stop her," Holly cried in her boyfriends hold.
"I'll come with you..."
"You can't Damon. You have to help the others. They can't defeat her without you. I can't come back until she's gone."
About to continue on, the pair suddenly heard movement behind them. They'd run out of time. Rayna was waking up.
"I'll seen you soon," Holly smiled forcefully with a nod.
"You better," Damon trembled.
"I love you Damon Salvatore."
He didn't even have time to open his mouth before Holly had sped away, the only sign of her presence being a gust of wind and the scent of Chanel in the air.
Holly was now Rayna's primary target. Her goal. Her chase. If she thought Damon was going to let her get anywhere near his girlfriend, she had another thing coming. It wasn't going to happen. Over his undead body.
He would stop the huntress, he would get Holly back, and he would stop at nothing to do it.
