Sophia groaned at the loss of warmth as she hesitantly opened her eyes to the sound of a phone ringing.
"Yes."
She heard Brian close his phone as she slowly pushed herself into a sitting position. She tiredly gave Brian a confused look,
"Who the hell calls this early?"
Brian quickly set his phone down before looking back at her,
"Wrong number."
She gave him a 'really?' look as he leaned towards her. Her eyes fluttered shut as their lips connected. She fell back onto the pillows as Brian's hands trailed over her body. She lazily wrapped her arms around his bare shoulders. She raked her nails down his back causing him to moan against her lips. Brian pulled away when she giggled. He cocked an eyebrow at her as she sheepishly smiled,
"I'm sorry that was just really hot."
Brian shook his head as he flashed a grin at her before he ducked his head and began to kiss her again.

She had a bad feeling about this.
Race Wars.
She had a feeling in the pit of her stomach that something bad was going to happen. The last time she had felt something similar to this her dad died. Maybe she was overthinking it but something was off about the crew. Dom had been more adamant on making this cargo steal, Jesse seemed more nervous than ever, and Brian. Brian was acting fidgety and being very protective over her. So for that reason she had made Mia stay home. She knew that Mia was dying to go but if there was even the slightest chance that her younger sister would end up hurt she wasn't going to take it.
So here she was.
She followed the line of cars that were preparing to race. She could easily take all of them. Brian had called her and told her he'd be here to see her race, and she was holding him to that.
"Aye girl this here is for real racers!"
She looked to her left to see the guy who she was up again was talking shit. She scoffed,
"Then why are you here?"
The crowd surrounding them 'ohh'd' at her comment as the man fumed. He pointed his finger at her,
"You better watch your mouth lil lady, it might get you into trouble. Let me tell you- you don't want to get in a fight with me."
Sophia rolled her eyes and reached into her bra and pulled out a wad of cash,
"Then let's settle it right here, right now. A grand each."
His eyes widened but he nodded,
"You're on chica."
They pulled up to the starting line when she saw a familiar face come the front of the crowd next to her car. Brian. He was grinning at her and winked as she blew him a kiss. The girl in front of their cars threw her arms down and she immediately took off. She easily shifted between gears as she was neck and neck with the man. She heard him whoop as he hit his NOS, causing him to think he was going to win. Pressed the NOS to early, dumbass. She waited till the perfect moment before she pressed her NOS button and zoomed in front of him. She crossed the finish line and grinned as she drove back to the starting line where a crowd surrounded her car. She jumped out of her car and was met with applause. The other car rolled up and the guy dejectedly got out of his car. He walked up to her and sighed as he pulled the cash out of his pocket. Sophia grinned as she took the money from his hand and shoved it in her bra.
"Who the hell taught you to do that?" The man asked her in awe.
She grinned,
"I'm a Toretto, it's in my blood."
Before she could see his reaction she was spun around.
"Brian!" She squealed as she grabbed onto his arms that were wrapped tightly around her waist.
He set her down as she turned around to face him. He grinned,
"God you're hot when you race."
Sophia laughed,
"I mean, I try."
His smile widened as he quickly pressed his lips to hers. Sophia smiled,
"Guess I should race more often."
Brian shook his head and smiled as he leaned into kiss her once more, she pulled away from him when she saw a familiar car driving away from the track after they lost,
"Jesse?"
Brian followed her gaze to see that Jesse was driving off into the distance, what the hell? She tightly grabbed Brian's hand as she began to run towards the crews base tent,
"Come on, we have to find Dom."
Brian ran next to her as they ran towards the tent. She groaned as she noticed that a large crowd was surrounding it,
"Shit."
She shoved her way to the front, Brian following behind her as they reached the front. Brian couldn't see the situation yet but he heard Sophia gasp. Sophia dropped Brian's hand as she stepped towards her older brother.
"Dom!" She yelled as Dom continued to beat Johnny Tran.
She reached for him but was grabbed around the waist by Vince,
"Don't! He can handle this!"
She groaned as she shoved him away and stepped towards Dom,
"He's going to kill him!"
She saw security guards step into the area, great. Vince and Leon held them back as she tried to pull Dom away.
"Dom! Stop it!" She yelled as she pulled on his arm.
Dom seemed to not hear her as he only continued to punch Tran. Sophia grabbed Dom's shoulders and pulled,
"I'm not letting you go to prison again!"
Dom immediately stepped away from Tran. His eyes stayed trained on Tran as he stood protectively in front of his younger sister. He pointed his finger accusingly at Tran,
"I ain't ever rat anyone out! Never!"
Sophia stood behind Dom in utter confusion before he stormed past her and into the RV. Letty quickly followed after him as the crowd stood silent. Johnny wiped the blood from his mouth as he glared at Sophia,
"I bet it was you."
Sophia cocked her eyebrow,
"Excuse me? What shit just came out of your mouth?"
He smirked,
"I bet it was you who ratted me out."
Sophia scoffed before she turned around and punched him. He stumbled backwards and spat the blood from his mouth near her feet. He growled as he stepped towards her and roughly grabbed her wrist. He opened his mouth the speak but was cut off by Brian's fist.
"Don't touch her." Brian growled at him as he turned to look at Sophia.
She was holding her bottom lip between her teeth as she looked up at Brian. Brian stepped towards her but she only shook her head. The crowd had begun to disperse as he saw Sophia hurry into the trailer. The door closed after her as he moved towards the trailer. He stopped when Vince stepped in front of him. Vince gave Brian a look he could only guess was sympathy.
"Just- don't. Give her some space." Vince said in a softer tone than Brian had ever heard him use.
Brian sighed but nodded nonetheless as Vince walked towards Leon. Brian walked in the opposite direction and towards his car. He climbed in and slammed his hands on the wheel.
He couldn't lose Sophia.
He never wanted to lose her.
But he was running out of time to find the perpetrators,
which meant she would find out.
Brian sighed and rested his head on the steering wheel.
What was he going to do?

Sophia chased after Dom as he walked towards their cars.
"Dom! Don't do this!"
Dom ignored her pleas as he walked towards the rest of the crew, who all bore worried expressions- excluding Vince. Sophia could feel herself growing angrier,
"Dom this isn't right!"
Dom opened the door of his car as he turned to his younger sister,
"We have to do this."
Tears pooled in her hazel eyes,
"I have a bad feeling about this, something's not right!"
Dom could feel himself crack at his sister's distressed look but kept his demeanor serious,
"When we get this money, it will pay off all our debts, the mortgage, we could even get a new house."
Sophia shakily sighed as the tears began to fall down her cheeks,
"I don't care about the money! I just need you to stay alive! Please don't do this!"
Dom leaned forward and kissed her forehead before getting in his car,
"I'll see you when this is over."
Dom drove off, Letty shot her a sympathetic look before she followed the rest of the crew. Sophia's chest heaved erratically as she watched them drive off.
"Sophia!"
She quickly wiped her tears away as she heard Brian's footsteps near her. She sniffled as he followed behind her,
"What's going on? I wanna talk about it."
She scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest,
"No Brian."
Brian shook his head as he quickly said,
"Oh, so what you always have tears in your eyes when Dom drives away?"
Sophia turned around to face him as she glared,
"What is the matter with you?"
Brian shook his head,
"Come on, what's your brother racing off in the middle the night for? I'm talking about the trucks, do you know about the trucks?"
Sophia expertly contained her emotions as she shouted,
"No Brian! What trucks? Jesus Christ."
She turned and walked in the opposite direction of him before he grabbed her wrist and spun her around. She tried to pull away from him before he spat out,
"Listen to me Sophia! I'm a cop."
Her body tensed as she shook her head,
"What're you talking about Brian? What is this?"
Brian's eyes softened as he continued,
"Since the first time I've met you I've been undercover. I'm a cop."
In that moment her heart shattered.
He had lied to her and she had fallen for it.
She bit the inside of her lip to contain her tears,
"You bastard."
She ripped herself away from him as she stormed away. Brian grabbed her wrist once more,
"Sophia-"
She whipped around, her hand connecting with his cheek. His cheek burned, he knew she could hit hard but not that hard. Brian looked up to see tears falling down her cheeks,
"Fuck you Brian."
She walked away again as Brian chased after her. He ignored the pain in his heart from knowing that he had broken her. He stepped in front of her and grabbed her shoulders,
"Sophia listen to me! Everything I've ever said I felt about you is real. I swear to God, but right now this isn't about you and me."
Sophia didn't bother to wipe her tears as she met his gaze as he continued,
"Your brother is out there and he's about to pull a job- and we're running out of time. Those truckers aren't lying down anymore, maybe they'll make it through the night. But every single agency is coming down on them. If you don't want anything to happen to your brother, to Letty, to Leon, or to Vince just get in the car with me right now. You have to help me."
Sophia only felt conflicted.
He had broken her and she couldn't trust him anymore. But if it meant saving her brother?
Brian looked her in the eyes as he pleaded,
"Sophia you are the only person that can help me right now. Please Sophia, please help me."
She bit back her pain and nodded her head.
For her brother, for family.
