Chapter 15
I knocked on the door to Ian's house and rang the doorbell before just standing there.
I was going to tell Ian exactly how I felt. I'm tired of playing games it's been entirely too long and I wanted to be with Ian. I want to be able to call him mine. I want him all to myself, and no one else can have him. I want to be his official girl, and I wasn't going to leave till I was. I don't know where all this found courage came from, but It came when I wake up, but the only thing is I don't exactly remember getting here.
I rang the doorbell once more, and waited. It was unlikely for Ian to leave anyone at the door for this long. Especially me. I knocked on the door just as it pushed open. That was strange. I grew a little apprehensive as I took each step in the house.
The only time that things like this happen were in scary movies and I was not about to have any of that shit happen to me. I slowly closed the door behind me making sure to not make any noise. As I stood in the foyer I could hear very little noise, but nevertheless it was a sound. Since the house was so big I'm sure small noises we like that.
I continued through the house climbing the stair to Ian's room. As suspected I could hear the noises louder and echo throughout the hallway. It was a grunting noise. I didn't have a clue what it was, but I still continued. Not knowing what exactly I'd walk into.
I stood at Ian's door worried. I didn't know weather to open the door or not. I mean it sounded like it there were still small sound, not too loud. I slowly twisted the knob and walked in.
My eyes must've bulged out of my head. I saw Ian on the top of a small petite body going in and out. The door shut behind me and I got the attention of the Ian and the girl in the bed.
My heart dropped at the sight before me. I froze just like the night with Manny I froze in my spot unable to move and unable to speak. I saw Carmen's embarrassed face under Ian's hold.
It as if the world was frozen, like I had just entered an alternate universe that was frozen. I could see Ian's mouth moving but it seemed as if no words were coming out. The hot tears fell to the carpet leaving a small wet puddle at my feet, the only thing I could hear was a small and faint beeping noise in the distant.
My eyes opened before anything else could happen, my breaths came out short and heavy. Sweat was still coming from down my forehead. It was a dream only a dream.
As relieved as I was, I was still angry. The fact that that could even be a dream. That couldn't be possible it was ridiculous. I turned my alarm off and swung my feet off the bed. Today was Tuesday, but since Carmen was sick I didn't have a ride to school.
As I made my way to the bathroom I heard moans similar to in my dream coming from Dawns room. Naturally we haven't spoken. She was never here and when she finally decides to come it was to have sex. I cringed at the fact and ignored it.
I didn't need Dawn I was practically an adult, and was obviously doing a good job by myself. Or at least I thought. It was time to face the fact that I was going to be independent for the rest of my life, which wasn't too bad. I just wish I didn't have to.
I made my way to the bathroom blocking out the sounds from Dawn's bedroom across. I stepped in the shower and let the hot water run over my body. Just as fast as the water came it left. I continued to twist the knob trying to reactivate it, but it was no use.
I let out a long sigh. Guess who didn't pay the water bill? Dawn. I dried off and went back in my room to pack a bag. Looks like I'd be staying over Carmen's house, and I guess taking care of her today.
Once I was all packed and ready I grabbed the keys to Dawn's car and headed to Carmen's house.
I pulled up to Carmen's driveway seeing her red convertible parked in the garage. I killed the engine and got out walking straight through the garage door and in the house.
"Carmen, I'm here" I called out. It was quiet. I walked through the house and staright to Carmen's room. I could see she was sleep. She had a box of tissues by her bed side and a bottle of medicine. I laughed at the sound of her heavy snoring and sat down on her bed.
I decided against waking her and just sat on the other side of the room. I damn sure was not about to get sick at all.

What seemed like hours later Carmen finally woke up. She looked like she was better than before, but I couldn't really tell as I walked out the bathroom from a much needed shower.
"When did you get here?" she asked in a groggy tone.
"About an hour ago. You okay?" I asked as I dried my hair with my towel and put it into a quick bun.
She begin to go into a fit of coughs. I grabbed a bottle of water from her mini-fridge and handed it to her.
"Thank you for coming Zen, but you really didn't have to" She managed to cough out after a few gulps of the bottle of water.
"It's nothing I needed to get away from the house anyway." I said sitting on the bed next to her.
"Can I talk to you about something" she asked popping a cough drop in her mouth.
I nodded slowly and inched a little closer to her. I could tell there was something wrong since she's been so distant. I guess it was what she was about to tell me.
"Uhm... I've been kind of seeing this boy and ..."
"Oh my gosh Carmen that's amazing who is he? Why haven't you told me sooner?" I squealed. When Carmen admitted to 'seeing' someone she actually liked them. Any other time she'd just say he just something for fun and that was usually.
She threw her head back and let out a long sigh "I knew you would react like this, but really listen"
I nodded and kept my happiness to a minimum as she begin to speak about the mystery boy.
"Okay, so I'm not going to tell you who he is yet, but I will if anything gets umm... official" she hesitated. "He's really cute and i just like him, but there's this girl... She's kind of in the way. I don't even know what to do"
If this wasn't my best friend I would automatically say a line like there are more fish in the sea or leave him alone its not worth it, but that's not what I was thinking at the moment. I wanted her to be happy, because she deserved it so I ended up saying "Fight for him"
"Fight for him?" she repeated with a confused look on her face.
"Yes, you deserve to be happy, and this may be the boy that can do that for you"
She reached for a hug and I dodged it scrunching up my face. "Nu Uh, Girl I do not want to get sick." she smacked her lips together, and we shared a brief laugh.
"Okay, lets watch a movie"

I was awaken by the sound of a going shower. I looked at the clock to see that it was 2 A.M. Why would Carmen be in the shower this early, especially since we went to sleep 3 hours ago. I heard the shower turn off and I quickly closed my eyes pretending I was sleep.
A few minutes later Carmen walked in on the phone with someone. "You want me now?" she whispered into the phone. "I'm on my way baby" she said into the phone.
She slipped on lace bra and panties. Then topped it off with some sweats and T-shirt. I watched her as she grabbed her phone and keys and slowly crept out of the door. A few minutes later I heard her car start and pull away. I cursed myself and shot up from the bed. I wasted no time and pulled on my own pair of sweats and my shoes since I already had on a T-shirt.
I ran to Dawn's car and saw Carmen's car going down the long rode ahead. I got in the car and sped off after her.
I had no idea why I was about to follow Carmen to where ever she was going, but something told me to. She shouldn't have no business out at this time anyway, especially since she was sick... or so I thought.
As we continued to get father, the path we went down didn't look too familiar, but at the same time it did. I stayed a reasonable distance away from Carmen so she wouldn't expect anything. It was pitch dark and almost everything was closed so I couldn't make out many things.
Carmen pulled into what looked like the backyard of someones house. I parked a few houses down not trying to get notice, but still keeping Carmen in my vision. She hurried out the car and walked to the front door.
I quickly followed suit, but in a quicker pace since it was a longer distance away. I didn't bother to look around and see where I was. I didn't try to figure out. It all looked too familiar and I just hoped that it wasn't the place that I had expected.
As I went through the same door as Carmen I immediately recognized Ian's kitchen. My Ian. The Ian that I wanted. Ignoring the signs I continued to the very well known house. I tip toe'd up the stairs. I dreaded what would happen next. Even though I knew what the case was, I still hoped for the best.
I took deep breaths still tiptoeing down the hall that lead to Ian's room. As I took each step, my emotions went wild. I couldn't help but be sad and angry at the same time. I finally came to his bedroom door and built up enough courage before opening it.
