A smile stretch on my face as I walk pass my friends. I keep on walking, watching everyone with their friends laughing and smiling. I stare at a girl with a pink crop top, short shorts, and makeup covering every inch of her face. She is smiling and laughing at a lame joke that she probably doesn't get. As I kept walking, turned the corner to see a boy with blue jeans, leather jacket, the latest shoes, and black sunglasses. He smirks at a something one of his friends said that he knows is something bad that he shouldn't do.
As the day went on I waved good bye to my friends with a smile still on my face. On the way home, I saw the girl from earlier without her friends. Instead of that smile on her face from earlier, she was crying. She grabbed a make-up removal wiped and wiped all the makeup off her face. She cried and took out a pair of glasses and put them on. I kept walking on I heard a fight going on. I watched as the guy from earlier friends fighting with these other guys. I watched as they called for him, but he was nowhere to be found. After a few feet away from the fight I found the guy. He wasn't wearing a leather jacket or his expensive shoes.He was wearing a shirt with a logo on it probably from a work place and work boots. He seems to be frustrated about something because he was holding an envelope in his hands.
I entered my house and prepared food for my siblings. That night as I was getting ready for bed I remembered the boy and girl I saw. I laughed a bit but it sounded so emotionless. I felt a few tears escape my face as I lay down on my bed. Funny huh, how we all act as if nothing is wrong. As if out of school we all live a happy life. The truth is we are living behind a mask. A mask that hides how we feel and how broken we are. With that last thing on my mind, I fell into a dream less sleep.
I walk back to school with a smile on my face and greeted my friends.
Unknowingly we all walk around with a mask on our faces. That girl dresses up and puts on make-up so they can accept her. No one knows that she used to be bully because she weared glasses and got good grades. They all use to called her nerd so to avoid that she wears cloths that they liked so she wouldn't be hurt again. That boy that everyone thought was cool, he works to back able to pay off the medical treatment for his mom. We all have secrets that no one knows not of in this world full of masks.
