"Dad, hey dad can I go out and play" a little boy said "no Sora once I'm finished here I have to go to a company meeting and you know how your mother gets if I leave you here by yourself" he said "awww, that sucks" he said "I know it does but I'm hoping this will we the last time I have to do this. Tell you what after this instead of moms cooking I'll go out and get you anything you want" he said "really!!!" He said with excitement "really but you gotta behave and sit still go sit over there and wait I'll be done in five minutes he said (sora does as his dad tells him and goes over to the other side of his lab and plays with his ball, while playing he bounces the ball to hard against a shelf and it falls on him.)
"Sora you okay bud" his dad called (he turns around to see his cabinet fallen over and a small puddle of blood leaking out from under it) "SORA!!!" He said (he panics and lifts the self off of his son, he picks him up and calls 911) "its okay buddy, you'll be fine, everything's going to be okay I promise" he whispered to his sons bloody and broken body (the ambulance finally arrives and when he gets to the hospital they spend hours upon hours in the er room time for sora's father seems to come to a stand still as he thinks to himself, his wife comes through the doors with tears in her eyes asking him what happened but before he could come up with an answer a surgeon comes from the room.)
"We have some news about you're son" "just tell if my baby's alright!!!" sora's mom screams with tears in her eyes "he pulled through the surgery, but the damage was to much for us to repair parts of his spinal cord are completely shattered, his heart was torn so we had to give him an artificial one and several parts of his brain hemorrhaged and died so there's no real way of knowing if he'll wake up before his times up, I give him two weeks, three maximum before his brain shuts down" the surgeon said.
"Oh my god, this can't be happening" sora's mom said a-gasp "it would be best to visit him as much as you can and try to be here in his final moments" the surgeon said while turning away "what are we going to do" she said "I need to go" sora's dad said under his breath "what do you mean we need to be here for our son" she said "there's something I need to work on" he said " (smack) our son is going to die in near future and all you can think of his your work, get out of my sight" she said with venom in her voice (sora's dad begins to walk away and doesn't look back.)
(2 weeks later)
"This will be my final testament you you my son I did this and now I have to fix it" he said.
"Its okay Sora momma's right here I'm not going anywhere (phone rings) and my attention is all yours today no matter what" she said. "Sir, sir I'm going to have to ask you to take off your over coat" a nurse said "get down" Sora's dad says quietly "what did you say" she said "I SAID GET DOWN!!!" (Sora's dad pulls out a semi automatic gun and fires it at the ground scaring everyone in the reception area he walks up to the desk and points the gun at the receptionist.) "where is Sora Natagi's room?" He asked (the nurse doesn't answer at first, but he fires the gun again and she answers) "he's in room 105 down that hallway" she said frantically /thank you, you have five minutes to evacuate anyone not on life support to the ones unable to leave I will do no harm to but if one of you feels the need to be heroic I will kill you" he said (Sora's father begins to walk toward the room he kicks in the door and stops his wife from attacking him at the last second) "Toza,what are you doing?" She asked with a hint of anger in her voice "nothing that needs your assistance, now are you going to stand in my way or not" he said with anger in his voice "what are you going to do" she asked "dammit I don't have time for this" he said slams the butt gun into her chest and she falls unconscious.
"Its okay buddy I'm gonna fix this" he whispered to Sora (hours seem to go by after he broke into the hospital and in the middle of his surgery on his son a mega phone crackles to life.)
"To the entity know as Toza come out with your hands up we have the building surround if you do not respond with in the next hour we will move in to apprehend you with deadly force you have one hour to comply" the officer said "that's more than enough time for this to take its course" he thought to himself wiping the sweat off his head with the back of his bloody hand.
(In the middle of the surgery his wife wakes up and begins to stand up before she can gain any awareness as to what's happened Toza holds up his gun to her) "Toza, what are you doing; what is this for?" she asked choking her words "its to save our son, now move go out side and get to safety if they storm the building I want Sora to at least have a mother left" he said (she says nothing to him and runs out of the room with tear particles flying of her face) "its almost over my ultimate testament to the AI system the perfect artificial intelligence even if I die I hope at least she will fill the void" he whispered (he takes out a computer from his bag and plugs a cord into the heart like device in Sora's chest and a file pops up on screen and reads "artificial cell, nerve and bone prepare in production completion in five minutes, artificial intelligence derogative needed to compete final installation "Protect host at all cost" final derogative accepted, host cell reconstruction and final installation expected finish in 2 minutes).
"Good its done" he said (he gets up and grabs the gun he brought and walks toward the door from down the hall in the night the police light and headlights can be seen) "I know this is selfish sora to deprive you of a father like this but you have to forgive your foolish old man I never forgave myself for leaving you at deaths door step and I can't live with the guilt of what I've done to save you. All I ask is don't waste the gift I've given you" he thought to himself.
"He has a weapon open fire!!!!" An officer said.
(10 years later)
"MOM!!!, I got accepted" Sora said with excitement "really that's great sweetie, what are you going to do when you get there?" She asked "probably just general studies once I go through the basics I'll decide on which division to stick with" he said "so when do you leave?" She asked "according to the letter a rep should be coming in a few minutes" he said "what? But I don't have time to prepare, I mean I knew you were going to leave but not so soon" she said "It's fine I promise I'll come to visit its only four years anyway I think, it will fly by I promise" he said with a reassuring smile "well I guess if its what you want to do i don't have a right to stop you" she said.
(Knock,knock) "please allow me to introduce myself my name is Kaede I'm the assistant principal at the AI institution of technology I am here for a mister Sora Natagi I presume that's you" she said "yes" he said back "congratulations on your acceptance to our prestigious academy if you didn't see when you applied our school runs from high school straight into college so you'll never have to worry about pesky college applications. I'd like to go more in depth in private, when your ready just head to the car outside with any belongings you wish to bring with you" she said.
"well mom I see you later" sora said (his mother grabs I'm in a strong hug) "I love you, do your best and come back to me not only as someone I can be proud of but someone you can as well" she said "okay mom, alright I'm ready to go" he said "okay then, miss Natagi I assure you you're son is in the best possible hands and you have nothing to worry about" she said with an oddly perfect smile "okay, take care" sora's mom said as the door shut behind them.
"Are you sure it was a good idea to leave like that I mean you had like two weeks to tell her" a voice said "if I told her any earlier that good bye would have never ended doing it like this just made it quick and painless" Sora said "yea for you at least" it said "shut up" he snapped.
"I'm sorry did you say something" Kaede said "oh nothing just talking to myself" Sora said "ahhhh, I just love riding in this car, but down to business the AI institution of technology is a school that prides its self in technological advance some of the best of the best learned from our school. in our school we have four main divisions, business, R&D, war and economics, and finally political, each division has multiple sub classes in which you can join to suit you're career path no one has come into our school with out finding a path of there own we make sure of it. another main focus of our school is to train combatants in AI tactical combat an AI as the name states is an artificial intelligence suit design to strengthen and boost physical abilities. Have I lost you so far?" She asked "no, but I do have a question why does everyone have to learn about AI tactical combat?" He asked "a great question for that I'm going to have to go into to laws and ethics for a minute so forgive me if I trail off, during world war 2 when the first exo-suits were made they used mini pocket sided nuclear generators wars fought back then were life and death to protect the secrets of your country so when in the event of capture a small tooth shaped button was hidden in the back molar to self destruction the suits and anything within a two mile radius these exoskeletons were considered dangerous and out right banned by the united nations formed right after the war but they were such a leap in technology that people wanted a way to study and give the suits a more practical use and thus the technology race began hundreds upon thousands of companies formed all in an attempt to created a non lethal exoskeleton it took decades upon decades but soon countries succeeded the world super powers the united- states and Russian made there's with ease Japan was the third to join the stage but that's besides the point. Both the U.S. and Russia still argue over who made it first the companies that tried to make there own variations gave up and soon the two world super power companies that crafted the suit, raidian express, and ruso-inc brought out those companies one by one to better spread their influence and power but they had one problem even though they had a product they had no one to market it to selling it on the market like it was just some toy would never turn a profit so schools decided to get sponsored by the companies to motivate their students into doing something with there lives soon by 1985 billions of schools were sponsored by hundreds upon thousands of companies more so by the big-wig companies and so its more so become a tradition to teach kids about the AI and have them compete. Whew that was a mouthful I hope I didn't bore you" she asked "no all of it was very helpful, but I have just one more question which is more so about the companies, how do the turn a profit?" he asked "well that ones easy each company around the time of tournaments finds one school which stands out once the pick a school to sponsor they have to find a national representative when they do this they have a mini competition In the school to see who is the best pilot among the school and the person the win the championship gets to represent the school and if they manage to beat out the best chosen by other companies in the country wide tournament they get to represent their entire country on the world stage. Think of it kinda like the Olympics the companies that are represented on live tv and get money based on the amount of people watching and the amount that pay to watch the from the stadium that's billions of dollars in revenue in just one night not to mention the commercials and if you wondering how they make money when there is no tournament all the smaller companies that they bought out sell basic necessities that they now partially own" she said.
(The car comes to a stop letting them know they have reached there destination) "oh good where here welcome to the school an entrance ceremony will be going on later today this watch is a multipurpose tool its also kinda like an id so make sure you keep an eye on it, also the watch should display a route to your assigned dorm and dorm number everything you need to know it should tell, anyway enjoy your time at our wondrous school" Kaede said.
(Sora takes on a Trojan stance and rakes a deep whiff of the air) "so this is my new life" Sora said "let's just hope it doesn't disappoint" a voice said "you got that right" he said as he walks toward the dorm buildings.
I hope you've enjoyed this remake of another story that I had on her before for those of you who are new, hello I apologize for the bad grammar if you managed to make it this far but this is as good as I'm going to get for now and I hope that my slight grammar mistakes haven't ruined the story for you I work really hard on these stories and I'd love to know what any of you think good or bad anything helps.
